Mathcad

I tend to forget a lot of things, so I don't remember if this bug is already known and was reported and discussed here.Anyway, Mathcads symbolics gives a wrong solution for a simple equation:but if we use "fully", we get the correct solution, as any value from -1 down is a valid solution:And also if we replace the square and square root by an absolute value, Mathcads answer is OK:EDIT: Just noticed:MuPad knows thatand so we get at least no wrong results if we simplify before we solveNevertheless, returning a numerical wrong result in the first place is an absolute no-go in my opinion.RegardsWerner

There is a good chance I am just being less than intelligent about this but I'm having some trouble calculating the energy required to heat a container of air (a hot air balloon).In this scenario, the pressure is remaining constant and air just leaves the container as temperature increases and air expands (in other words mass is decreasing). Since Q=m*ΔT*Cp it should take less energy to heat the decreasing mass then it would to the system if the mass was constant however my calculations are saying otherwise. I know I'm doing something wrong but I'm just not sure what. Thanks

Hi,I know it is possible to control the unit of the result in an equation. Is this possible as well within the equation itself or do I have to put in a correction value instead?E.g. I am doing some calculations where the defined variable in the equation must be entered as rpm where as the variable is calculated as rad/s, which is the SI unit.Thanks in advance,Ronnie.

Hello again,I got some help a while back from here regarding turning a nested array into a single array.  Now I have a similar problem in that I need to turn nested matrices into a vector of 3 single matrices.  I've tried modifying the code for the arrays but so far unsuccessfully.  If anyone can help with this I would be very grateful.Thanks,Mike

Hi all,For the following mathcad code which I attached herethe 3D plot is not visible in my mathcad window.In the 3D plot region, I also uncheck the "border" by right clicking the 3D plot regionbut the 3D plot is not visible.If I copy the 3D plot figure from mathcad window to powerpointthe 3D plot is visible.I am using  laptop with windows 7 OS.Could you please tell me how to make 3D plot visible in mathcad window andcould you please tell me what is the problem?

I just reinstalled windows on my PC to fix a virus problem and when I tried to install Mathcad, I got the message : "You have reached the maximum number available for you product type". I tried creating a new accounts but got the same message every time.I have used a difference account on every computer I've installed this, so I don't really understand what is going on here.normally I would contact support with this kind of problem but they PTC doesn't give support to non-paying customers  (page tells me I have  Insufficient Privileges)Can anyone here help me with this ?
