Hi folks!See the attched file. How can I make this simple programing work?It say that the value need to be scalar? How to fix this?I need to get 3 ok answers and 3 no answers
Hi All, if we want to provide our Mathcad worksheet to people who do not have Mathcad in their PCs, what is the best way to do? For example, Labview allows programmers to generate the exe file to provide to users. Does Mathcad have the similar feature? Thank you!

Hi All, I was trying to build a radio button list, with 5 options. How can I implement the multiple selection from the list? Thank you!
Hello,I am working from a Naval Architecture book which gives a problem to which I want to use MatCAD Prime to go through the problem myself (as the book has no explanation). The initial expression is:KM=0.5T+B^2/12TWhere the expressions are:KM is a naval arch term which represents the distance from the Keel of a ship to the MetacentreB is the Breadth of the ShipT is the Draught. The book gives a plot of the above expression for a ship with a breadth (B) of 15 and shows how as T increases KM reduces to a point. The book goes on to state that you can find the draught (T) when KM is at its lowest value by differentiating the above expression with respect to T and equating to zero. It then gives this as:dKM/dT = 0.5-B^2/12T^2and states in the example of a ship with B of 15 the answer would be 6.12.I however cannot work out how this was derived or how to use MatCAD to solve such a problem.Any advice warmly welcomed.Andy
My home computer is a Mac. I run Mathcad 14 in XP inside VMware Fusion. About all I do inside XP is Mathcad. I am considering upgrading XP to Windows 10 (ok, flushing XP and buying a copy of Windows 10). Will Mathcad 14 work under Windows 10?
Hi.....I have attached a worksheet in Mathcad 15 where I have iterated several functions in finding the parameters of the Gumbel PDF. It works fine when I iterate in succession but my attempt to program the solution doesn't produce the same results.Cold use some help. Thanks for any help provided.Dick..
Hi all, I am plotting a periodic piecewise function, which has different values around the turning point. I found that the continuity can be kept at some points, while it cannot be kept. Would anybody hep me about this? I have attached the detailed question in a simple example. Thank you!
I made a mathcad file, that calculate the area, first moment of area (whole), second moment of area, centroidal axis etc.All only depending on the coördinates that you choose. It is usefull to quickly see the moment of inertia of each shape and apply this in further calculations. But for futher calculation, now i want to know the First moment of area (S), some call this the static moment, over the height. This to easy see the critical points of the beam. In case of shear.Hope that you are able to help me.
On 15 december 2015, I have published two files relating to the same subject: the power lines in DC. The first .pdf and the other xmcd.zip. Why, after downloading the file with extension xmcd.zip and unzipping, mathcad crashes? while the original worksheet works properly...Can I do something to retrieve it functioning?ThanksFM
Here is the file I was looking for, redone with some differences from the old one. I would be happy to read the views of those concerned.GreetingsFM
Hi All, I have a question about the curve plot. Attached is an example I want to ask. Can we have the control of the curve in the plot, by only letting it show in a specific range? We can do it in the math function, by including some conditional setup. But if we do not do the conditional setup, can we still place the limitation in the curve plot?
Hi!I would like to send this data to Creo, to create a 3D Model, is there a way to do so?Many thanks,Ioana
I use CurveExpert (version 2.4.0) for getting an initial idea on what is the best fitting model for a data set. However, when I want to use then the proposed equation in Mathcad I do not get optimal results. In the rational fit I am completely out of range while in the sinusoidal fit my R² is lower. I assume that I am not familiar enough with all fitting possibilities within Mathcad 15. So I would appreciate any help as I would like to improve my skills or to understand why the results in Mathcad are inferior to those of CurveExpert. I have added 2 worksheets to demonstrate the issue.
Hi, I'm trying to solve fairly simple equations element by element in an array and from what I've read here it looks like a For loop calling a solve function is the way to go. I know I can't have a Given/Find in a For loop and have to write the function elsewhere and call it from the loop, but I'm having trouble getting that to work I found a lot of discussion on here about this, but none that I have been able to implement. I have attached both the file I'm working on and a simple example of what I'm trying to do that I think will be easier/faster to work on, then I can modify the actual file.I've been tasked with converting some calculations from Excel to Mathcad 15, and I'm new to Mathcad so learning as I go.Thanks much in advance for your help.
Hello MathCAD Comunity! The company I work for are having serious issues when combining MathCAD 15 with Excel 2013.We use excel components for various tasks throughout our MathCAD files as follows:Section Titles, (excel components used to display title headings, allowing the numbering to be automatically updated)Figure Labelling, (excel components used to display figure labels)Excel components used to display ‘Utilisation Ratio’ (calculation that shows calculated values versus allowable values, ratio is then displayed as a value, less than 1 = pass, more than 1 = fail.)Excel Tables used to allow numerous Utilisation ratios to be displayed together for comparison. We have numerous problems which I will list below however on the whole they can be described as making mathCAD at best unresponsive and at worst unstable to the extent that doing any work become nearly impossible. The most frustrating point is that PCs with previous versions of excel installed work absolutely fine. The specific i
hello,i have problems using Mathcad 14 on different workstations in our company: when i open a mathcad file on a certain Workstation, which is created on aother Workstation, the page setup seems to be somehow different. the pages are larger or at least wider, although it is showing the same size on the ruler (DIN A4). Additionally it seems like the paragraphs and especially the pictures have been pushed together vertically. so they are partially located on top of each other. all the other work stations in our Company work fine, except this one. i guess it has something to do with the page or printer Settings. hopefully someone can help me.best regards and thanks in advance,Stefan
Been using Mathcad for 8 years. First version 13 and now 14. Throughout the years, I have had a problem with the software....sometime when I print, it would "short sheet" me, i.e., it would make one or two sheet divisions shorter than all the others which meant I would have to rearrange every sheet, leaving out the short sheeted sheet. Something different happened today that is similar, but it went in the opposite direction, it made all the sheets longer than normal. I should have posted this a long time ago, but I have grown weary after this "new" issue today. Has anyone ever had this problem and do you know how to keep it from happening. Thanks
HiHow would I solve the following problem on cable lengthThanksTwo cables, both with cross sectional area 5 mm2, are connected in parallel across a common DC voltage of E = 36 V.The resistivity of Cable 1 is ρ = 17 x 10-9 Ω.m at 20 °C, while the resistivity of Cable 2 is ρ = 28 x 10-9 Ω.m at 20 °C.Cable 1 is 1641 mm in length. If 44.9 % of the current passes through Cable 1, determine the length of Cable 2.Assume the ambient temperature is 20°C.
what i want to do is making a loop, which can do an iteration work automatically. In this function, i put the initial valueand by using an Minerr optimization, it gives final values(which i defined as Newvalue)and what i need to do is iteration workso reusing this Newvalue as an initial value.for example, if i put n=3, it should mean it iterate 3 timesfor that i tried using an While loop.but i think this is not right..because it gives same result eventhough i put different value of n.can you help me with this problem?
Hi,I am trying to write a simple command to create a matrix with two columns one of which would display a value of the governing shear force and the other with text (as in the screen below). When I loop it, the result is not what I intended. I would be grateful if someone could indicate what is wrong. Regards,MK
Dear all,I have this very simple code that gives a different result with the same input but in a different worksheet. I can't imagine what goes wrong here. Below you can find two snippets of the code: Thanks for your help
Hey guys, sorry in advanced if this is an ongoing discussion here, I tried hard to find something similar but I couldn't.My problem is: I already have an mathcad file doing all the calculation i need with the necessary inputs as thickness, width, etc. I would like to be able to change these inputs using values from an excel spreadsheet.I already figured it out how to do using the SetValue function on VBA, but the problem is that once I close the mathcad, this modification is gone. I read somewhere that this kind of manipulation is only possible changing the XML file, is that correct? Do you guys know if there is a different and simple solution for the MathCad 15?Thanks in advance!Denis.
Hi, In Mathcad 15 the attached commands dont cause error but it seems Mathcad Prime 3.0 flags error. Any idea about why is it giving error on Prime 3.0?
