I have a MathCAD model that reads raw data from a CSV file and plots it. It was working fine but then when I read a new set of data the plot trace lines became very thin and the option to edit them is grayed out now. Is this a bug or something? I have between 54,000 and 250,000 points but it was working previously. It just switched when I read a new data set. Here is how it should look and does look with one dataset: Then here is how it looks with a new data set, the trace thickness becomes very thin and the option to change it is grayed out...This issue is occurring to multiple plots in the document, here is another example:...and here it is with the new dataset:I need to find a solution. Please let me know if you know what this is. Thank you!
Here is a simple math challenge for you. Solve with MathCAD! On a regular 12 hour clock, how often does the minute hand pass the hour hand?(Hint: The answer is not 60 minutes.)Edit: I'm looking for the amount of time it takes for the minute hand to pass the hour hand. I will post the solution in 1 week. Kudos abound!
HeyThe last week i have been working on a Mathcad-file with som notes. But suddenly i couldn't open the file? What is going on? The file is 3,82 MB so there must be some data? The filetype i MCDX and i use Mathcad Prime 7.0.0.0 I have attached the file as a .zip - hopefully someone can help? - Valdemar
Hi, I have a combo-box with in a mathcad sheet that I would like to change through Excel + VBA. The combo box is something like this:option1 ¦ 0option2 ¦ 1etcThe idea is to change from excel the state of the combo box. I can add it as an input, so it seems possible but I don;t know what variables I need to pass. I tried "option1" and 1 without luck, VBA tells me that I cant pass that variable to the combo box.Anyone has experience with this? Regards,
I am having another MatchCAD Prime issues. Plotting simple equation in MatchCAD 15 worked. After transfer to Prime the graph - Plotting failed. Replace complex values and NaN by real numbers. I can't see any issues here. My Balance Now
Hi all I have a bitmap image (see attached) that I would like to read into MathCad 15 and then fit this surface to a user defined set of polynomials using the linfit function. I have seen examples on the internet and this message board using an x-y data array and used them to fit data, but I wasn't able to find anything providing the syntax on how to load a 3-D array. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
Dear all,can anybody please tell me why I get [1x1] as a result for Acyl on page 4 of the attached document?I don´t know what I am doing wrong but with this results I can not use it in the further calculations.Thank you in advance.RegardsSeb
R(1*1)=1, R(2*2)=3/2. How about R(3*3),R(4*4) and R(5*5)?
I was trying to use the fancy new charting system (Math | Insert Chart Component), and all was fine until I tried to enter the units for the trace, micrometers, as mm in the trace name. I could not see any way of doing it, and ctrl-G was clearly not recognised. How on earth do I state what the units are on a chart like this if I cannot use Greek letters? Is there a way of doing this that I have not seen yet? In the Chart Title, there's a drop down box so that I can select the case for the whole title, but not for just a few characters, and anyway that's in the title, not the trace name. So unless I am mistaken, the whole of the text system for these new types of charts is incredibly basic and limited ... am I right? Please tell me that I have missed something, because I quite like the new charting system otherwise.
Hi, I had conflicts between Excel VBA and Mathcad. Basically, VBA seems to not wait for Mathcad to finish its calculation, leading to errors (e.g. not retrieving outputs). I solved most of these issues by adding the commandApplication.Wait (Now + TimeValue("xxx"))which forces VBA to wait xxx seconds before resuming the code. Still, I was wondering if there is a way to know from VBA the state of Mathcad (is it calculating or is it ready to start calculations?). That way, I can tell VBA to wait as a function of Mathcad state. Regards,
This PTC Mathcad Prime worksheet explores two options for importing data from an external Excel file into Mathcad. These two options are the Excel Component and the READEXCEL function . This worksheet is partitioned into two sections. Within each section, we will calculate the surface area of a threaded bolt for electro-plating using data imported using the two options mentioned above. Please note that this is not intended to be an in-depth tutorial, and therefore won't provide details on every mouse click and keyboard entry. There are examples available in the Help Center, so if you find yourself needing a little extra explanation, that will be a great place to start. Direct links to specific features will be added in this document to help you find more information on that specific topic. This Mathcad worksheet was made in Mathcad Prime 7 and then updated to Mathcad Prime 9, and uses Mathcad premium functionality. The .zip includes the Mathcad worksheet and an Excel spreadsheet
Dear forum members, I'm just trying to write a simple integral equation for the beam deflection (simply supported beam with uniformly distributed load). Could anyone correct me where is the error that in the end it does not come out as it should, i.e. (5/384)*(L^4*q) / EI ?? Greetings,
Can't figure out how to show mixed fractions in Mathcad Prime...Mathcad 15 did a great job of this and the feature seems to be missing from Prime?
I am not getting answer what exactly I am doing wrong. Help please! Jon
Can anyone convert these files for me to mathcad priem 6.0? I'm having a hard time finding a conversion application to see these old mcd files. Thank you.
Hi, Is there any way to lock plot aspect ratio ?So if a square is plotted, this shown as the actual square and not a rectangle thanks,Eleni
Hi guys, I'm trying to do a simple calculation of the middle third rule. What I want to achieve is shown in the spreadsheet but the issue is that if the condition ex/L+ey/B<1/6 is met only then I want the program to calculate the pressure otherwise just get a message like "N/A". Can the result be either a scalar or a text? I tried to put be a scalar with "N/A" for each of its elements but got an error message again, it seems that it accepts only numerical values Any help will be much appreciated! cheers,Eleni
I have an MatchCAD Prime issues. Plotting the equation in MatchCAD Prime 7.0 is not working. There is notification like this "Plotting failed. Replace complex values and NaN by real numbers".
Hello Mathcad communityI would like to calculate the isotensoid contour of a pressure vessel and need help with the following calculations, because no graph is generated from the values. Thanks for any help.Seb
Team,Why am I getting a zero in the Excel Component B1 cell? Note that I have been using Mathcad for decades. However, I've just started using Mathcad Prime. Kindly see the attached worksheet.
I'm trying to parse a test function https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himmelblau%27s_function using symbolic math. It has one local maximum, four global minimums and four saddle points. Why does Prime's symbolic math only output the minimums? Mattcad 15 symbolic engine produces the traditional answer - absolutely accurate and absolutely indigestible. Thanks for any response and comments. Attached files.
Hi,Mathcad Prime: Plotting Area. There is a gap below the plot where the axis expressions are which I have them hidden. Is it any chance to eliminate the gap? thanks,Eleni
Hello everyone! I need your help. I can't understand why the program doesn't continue to calculate. It says the value of must be a vector. Please look at the attached file!Greetings from Germany
On Jan. 21, 2022, Werner_E provided the solution for creating color-coded mesh surface plots using Mathcad Prime 6.0 for two functions [f1(x) and f2(x)] I had defined [Solved: Re: Generating a hemispherical dome surface plot u... - PTC Community]. Assuming that these instructions could be utilized to create similar plots with any other monotonic function, I defined and inserted two new functions [f3(x) and f4(x)- -see below] in the equation S = CreateSlices(f1, 0, a, 5): f3 = e–cx/a f4 = 1 – x/a, both over 0 ≤ x ≤ a, with a = 300, c = 4.61 Evidently my simplistic assumption was incorrect- -the Insert 3D Plot command failed to generate the anticipated five-color slice hemispherical domes whose height ranges between 0 and 1.0. Where did I go wrong?
