How to solve "y" valve in the attached equation Regards, Robert
Hi, I am attempting to dynamically model the behaviour of granular solids in a rotary kiln using known equations, however i am having trouble setting up the following ODEs in mathCAD for the model....can anyone help. I have included the key points i am trying to model in Mathcad. boundary condition: where h0 is a fixed value (say 10% of the value of R). From the above i'm looking to be able to determine the bed height (h) at any axial location (z) along the kiln tube. Subsequently equations for Cross section area of the granular bed and residence time of the granular transport through the kiln (as a function of bed depth (h)) follow on from this... Cross section area: Residence time So essentially i am looking to use MatCAD to find the residence time (t), given fixed values for: n (rotation speed in rpm), R (radius of kiln in m), D (diameter of kiln in m), angle of repose of the material (beta), angle of inclination of th
Hello folks, I'm having an issue with the reference to another worksheet. I referenced several worksheets in order to compare results only to find prime having a tantrum claiming there is an error in the source sheet. However, when opening the source sheet everything seems to be fine. It get's even weirder: when using a reference in another sheet the data from the source sheet (the one Prime claims to have an error) just loads fine. Has anybody else had the same issue and does anybody know a remedy? Raiko P.S. I'm not at liberty to provide the sheet, sorry.
Hello URGENT HELP NEEDED! I have this expression and conditions phi has conditonal values depending on L. Since L is in the denominator, and is varied from 0-30 nm and more. this expression is giving divide by zero error. How can I compute the valus of phi. I want to plot potential (phi) againt L. Please help Thank you
I am trying to create a conditional program, that returns a value if the input is within a data set, but an error if the input value is outside the bounds of the data set. Unfortunately, the return value is in a non-default unit (psi*ms). Thus, if I just set the formula to show the default result, the displayed units are not what I want. However, if I go in and set the units to my desire value in the result, the display will then "crash" if it tries to return the error message. Is there a way to get mathcad to "ignore" the units if it is returning text? The worksheet in question is very busy, so I have isolated an example of the idea in the attached sheet. Basically, I want Impulse(6) to return a value in psi-ms, but Impulse(2) to return the error message. Is there any way to get Mathcad Prime to do this? Thanks in advance,
I know a and b of an ellipse. What is the value alpha of a circular cone?
Hi all, looking for some help to solve the following equation (circled in red) to find one of the limits of integration (b). R.d is the other limit of integration which is fixed and known. The angles 'alpha' and 'beta' are known and fixed. w is known and fixed, q is known and fixed. Angle 'theta' varies with r and b. Any help would be appreciatred - currently trying to do it in mathcad 15 but i also have access to prime
Happy New 2020 Year! (one Mathcad plot from Inna Vasileva)
Hi,I'm having the following issue with the units in mathcad15:L:=20.76mThen when I go to repeat L later in my sheet it comes out as L=0.Anyone got any ideas how I can solve this issue? I'm having the same problem even when I change L to Beam for example.ThanksMike
I am working on a project that requires a lot of text to be imported in a Prime 6 worksheet. The text is reformat and saved to a Excel worksheet to improve its presentation. This is pretty straight forward as shown on the attached PDF file. (The Prime worksheet and support excel files are too big to post). In going through the string commands, there is an option for new line command \n. I have seen this in other programs, but not sure how to use it Prime. There may be cases for it use.

Is it possible to get a more clear result, and how can I solve the two angles ?
why can I not solve this ?
Hi, Does anybody know how to get different eigenvectors of matrices with two or more equal eigenvalues? The standard Mathcad eigenvec function only gives the same eigenvectors. Thank you

Still using MC 11.2, which (for me) is fine. I was wonder if a function which is not explicitly expressed, can be used in a symbolic operation. Maple and Mathematica I saw can do it quite well. Below an example with derivatives. It seems that only n.1. works while the others (I am in fact interested in a function f(y/x) do not. The n. 3. solution seems incomprehensible to me. Does exist a trick to make possible to solve for instance function n.2 symbolically? [[Sol: f(y/x)-[y*f'(y/x)]/x ]] Thanks.
Using READPRN in MathCAD 15 I found that it's limited to 2,000,000 rows. Fortunately READFILE doesn't appear to have this limit as I was able to use it to read 2.7E+6 lines of a text file.
I'm often provided with a flow rate, but it can be specified in either volume flow or mass flow. I want a simple way for my sheets to work regardless of what is specified (i.e. calculate the one that isn't defined from the other). My goal is to have the two inputs, but the one I don't need is disabled. I thought this would be easy, but I'm not finding a solution other than to enable/disable equations (which could get messy and dangerous) or assign flags telling mathcad what to do (also dangerous). In excel I could use ISNUMBER or similar, but I don't seem to find that in Mathcad. I thought TRY would work, but even that quits when it reaches an undefined variable. I tried a few things with NaN but still no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks. 4.0 attached.
