I have a matrix which contains many values for kd, x/d, z/d, Ec1 (reinforced concrete). for a given value of u.sd for example i need to search the matrix for the first higher and lower values than the given one, and with those values , with the linear interpolation to compute the other values in other columns for the corresponding given number.I had a similar code for C# that my brother wrote for me but since he doesn't know how mathcad works i can't translate into mathcad functions. I will try to explain with a picture:

Hello,I have encountered a very strange problem in Mathcad 15. While using nested arrays to express two functions, the results appeared with having a line on top of the functions. This line does not seem to be mentioned anywhere in the manual and is interfering with calculations of derivatives. There is of course a workaround by using the substitute function - transforming the functions with the line on top to ones without the line. The problem is, my calculations in general will contain huge amount of sub-functions and their mixed partial derivatives, so fixing the problem manually is very burdensome and inelegant. Has anyone encountered this problem and found a solution?Kind regardsRafal

I don't understand why I can't evaluate the equation in attached spreadsheet  -- bottom of the page.  It keeps telling me the independent variable is undefined?  Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?  I would like to also take the first, second, and third derivatives of this equation, but can't do that without being able to evaluate the equation.

At n=1000 all is OK. At n=5000 - Prime has an error!What is it?

hiThis mays be a little trivial and repetitive but i havent found a manual. a tutorial or something that shows mathcad functions which do this. i found somes examples in here and i tried to used them with my data and they didnt work.i got this data that represents a curve and i want to find a function, maybe a Lagrange interpolating polynomials that fits this data.  i have attached a sheet with the data. if some one could help me.Thank you in advance

I have a matrix Z that represents the z coordinate of a surface to find the bending moment. x and y coordinates must cover a plate of 6.82m and they have to be divided in 10 places (same as z matrix), which means every 0.682m. How to make the 3D representation (surface) for those values.Attached you can find the values for z coordinates.Thanks in advance.

Hi,I am trying to solve a parametric equation in matrix form. I have to multiply and evaluate a number of matrices symbolically. I have to calculate a force Nx which can be applied so that failure occurs according to certain criterion.This means I need to solve the matrices and equations in parametric form and obtain the stress matrices in terms of the applied load Nx. I am however not being able to solve the equations symbolically since I get errors like 'the value name must be the name of a function' or ' the array should be compatible'  or 'the variable is undefined, check the label is set correctly'. Please advice how I can proceed.Thanks

Hello all,I'm in need to design a solution to prevent existing concrete surface to collect ice, when there is sparklingwater flying around. This is actually dam and the surfaces are the sides of it and dam is slightly leaking oropened to let water run, so that there is lot of water drops everywhere.Now I got idea to clean these concrete surfaces by high pressure water jets, glue RST-plate stripes side by side using epoxy, and finally connect these plate to electric system to warm them max up to 30 deg. Celsius and surrounding climate is below Zero.The total area in question is ca. 30m2 per one dam and I have three dams.My question is how to calculate the thickness of the plate, if they are f.ex. width=200 and length 5000 and what kind of current it might need??Better off, if someone can give formula where these values could be calculated by myself?  ;>)Best Regards Matti Pitkanenwww.pcskouvola.fi

As it can be seen in the attached picture, I need to find an equation to fit this curve if I have only the data from the picture. Since this is a graphical method, I can't have a high accuracy but I need a generalized function that would give me the value for every point. As you can see, the values in Y-axis are not linear so I have no idea about the type of the function.

I use tables quite a bit but when I used them as input to calculations, the output does not reflect the number of data points that are supposed to be calculated from the input data.See example below (only one value for chargeVolume). What the heck is happening or I am brain dead for this simple calculation.

I just had an Error. Suddenly I couldn't use operations like the derivative. There is now just the notice: unknown_outofproc_symbolic_engine_failure.

Can I import a CREO Model into Mathcad directly; and, if so, how can Mathcad help us to improve our design?

I have attached a pdf file with an explanation of what I am trying to accomplish.  The Mathcad file attached can be edited as needed.

I'm using Mathcad prime 3.1 express at my school for electrical calculations.And I am constantly switching between the taps  "MATH" and "Math formatting"It's really a hazzle..Things i would like to change isGeneral should be Decimal or Engineering, Decimal values i need to be (5) not (3) as it is now.and finally complex numbers should be displayed in polar instead.I find myself switching the tab almost after each line of writing, and for one assignment i usually fill 2-3 A4 pages.so it's really getting to me that i can't figure out how to set these things so they STAY that way be default.Anyone have an idea on how to change the standard values under math formatting?
