Mathcad

It seems that the numerical calculation in Mathcad only can process 16 significant figures, such as 123.4567890123456 or 123456789.0123456, and when the number have more significant figures, MC will round it to 16 or 17.I knew that symbolic calculation could process up to 250 decimal. But I need use it in the programming, and the result of the symbolic calculation can't use in programming.When I use:x:=x-trunc(x)x:=x*10^8-trunc(x*10^8)to get the number after 10^-8, I get a lot of number irrelevant! Look at the picture below:In my opinion, the result must be 98765432.11234568, but MC return a unacountable number! Is it another bug of MC15?And how should I do to increase the computational accuracy?In Mathcad Prime 2.0, the result is same:

Hi guys,I want to calculate spectral moments of a wave spectrum (of ocean waves). This involves the use of the transcendental equation to obtain the wave number k by iteration. I have calculated k for a limited set of wave frequencies, see sheet. However, I would now like to sum these wave numbers, but I am unable to do this. Can anybody help?I am new to Mathcad so maby Im just being stupid here.

I am about to buy Mathcad prime 3.0 student edition,does it come with Mathcad 15 m010 or above so i'll be able to convert mathacad legacy file or just the prime version itself?

Hello folks,I do still have an unexpected result from the reverse function although it works as expected in some instances; see attached sheet.When creating an array and reversing the order of the second column then one sees in the graph the reversed function. I.e. last values being depicted first.However, when I do the same on some measurement data, all I get is the weird looking curve in the left graph.Does anybody have an explanation? Dear all,Can anyone tell me how to get (from within Mathcad) the name of the folder(s) (not the files) within another folder ?Thanks to good answers from the community I can now read a list of files within a specific folder and also delete the one's which I want to discard.It works very well and I thank the mathcad champion's who answered my questions.I still need to type the name of the specific folder.In fact the main folder comprises many sub folder which themselves comprise the files to delete.May be someone already answered in a file which I cannot open because I have Mathcad 14 and not the last update because I have no administrator rights for the company laptop.Thank youYouki

Hello folks,I've got this weird result in MC15 with the reverse function; see attached work sheet. There you'll see depicted some measurement data and the reversed values. Why on earth doesn't this function behave as in the adjacent example of Q and Y?Any suggestions?RaikoP.S. I'm using MC15 on a 64 bit Win7 machine.

Hi all,I was wondering if anyone knows what internal precision (i.e., how many signficant digits) Mathcad Prime 2.0 carries when a variable is defined. I know that in the Math Formatting tab of the program, the user can change the display precision (up to 16 sig digits). However, once this regions is highlighted it specifically says that changing the display precision does not change the internal precision of the calculation. This to me suggest that the internal precision and the display precision are not "related". I guess the second part of my question (which depends on the answer to that above) is, can the internal precision of variables in Mathcad Prime 2.0 be changed to carry more significant digits?Thanks a million!Pedro

Hello,I'm wondering if it is possible to set up a function to calculate the density from the Beattie Bridgeman Equation. The equation is pressure as a function of the specific volume and temperature. P(T,v). However, the answer I want is the density. I can solve it using a solve block, but would like to be able to express the solution as funtion. I.e; rho(T,P) = answer, where I just need to input the Temperature and Pressure. But as seen, the pressure is a function of the density.I have attached the MathCad 15 sheet that has the function, but I'm unsure if I will need to use the mathcad programming to get an answer back in the way I would like. I don't know if there is a way to set up the solve block or solution such that I can have the expression be as above.

I am trying to program a solution to an ODE but I get the message that no "givn found to solve this block". Please tell me where I have gone wrong. I am a beginner in programming. I have attached a file containing the program to solve an ODE. If this succeeds I have a more complicated program involving loops and if statements.

I would really like to purchase MC 15 in lieu of Prime. I am used to MC 15 and would like to stick with what I am used to. However, I can't seem to find anywhere to buy that particular version of the software. I have a 30-day trial version that appears to be of MC 15, but when I look at the license file it says that it is Version Prime. Any insight or suggestions?

Hello,i have two questions:1. why is the area in the attached mathcad sheet is grayed out?2. i am trying to move the image on page 1 down because it is covering part of the calculation, but i cant seem to have any control to move that region.3. this is a general question, when i print mathcad sheets , some times half of a table shows uo one page and the other half on the next page. i try to shift the table so it is below or above the dotted line for a new page , but some how mathcad shifts it again. is there a better way to have a better control over printing ?Thanks!

Hello there.I am currnelty explorign the use of the mathcad API for generating a matrix of data from another application.I am using VS2010 Professional and VB.NET. I am using the mathCAD API for doing this. I am using MathCAD V14.0.2.5It appears that there is a limit on the size of the matrix one can create through using the setelement mehtod of the MatrixValue class.My original matrix was of size 6800 rows x 21 cols. When i try and view this matrix or assign this matrix to a new variable MathCAD shows no vlaue for this matrix. Teh matrix is composed of strings - i ahve to use strings as the data is of a variant/object type i.e. strings/doubles/integers. It seemed to crash when I got ro row 480. For rows less than this i was able to view the matrix in mathcad and assign the matrix to a another user defined valriable as well as extract elements for given indices.As a test I simply ran a loop for a matrix of 480 rows x 18 columns and assigned an integer value of 1 for every elment.
