I am trying to figure out how to control Fuji Variable Frequency Drive using Thingworx Industrial Connectivity.  The VFD uses Modbus protocol. Is there an example or guide I can follow?

Hi,   We currently are trying to create custom templates that extend the PTC.ISA95.PhysicalAssetThingTemplate so we have our Things in Manufacturing App. Most of our templates extend RemoteThingWithTunnelsAndFileTransfer. From what I can see all the functionality we need can be accomplished with the PhysicalAssetThingTemplate. However, we have one template that extends the RemoteDatabase. If we have this template extend the PhysicalAssetThingTemplate, will we be able to connect to the remote database? If not, is there any work arounds?   Thanks, Brandon Winslow  

I am trying to create Things with the facility to perform the following functions: View Properties, Remote Access/Tunneling, File Transfers, File Browsing, Events and Alerts   Which ThingTemplate can be used so that I am able to view the Thing on Asset Advisor? I have tried using RemoteThingWithTunellingAndFileTransfer template, but with no luck.  Anyone tried to do something similar?

I want to add the 'message' column into the alert grid to show the current value and limit value. But I can not find a way to custom the alert detail mash. It's not included in the configuration of thing 'PTC.Factory.C_LaunchPointConfigurationThing_8.3.0_05'.

Hello   I have a very strange problem. I can not add any new tags or assets from Kepserver to the Manufacturing Apps since today.However, the existing tags and assets work without any problems and provide up-to-date data. See the trending in the background. The Controls Advisor shows no problem. Nevertheless, I have already updated the key.   Yesterday I redesigned the organizations and user groups, but not in the context of the manufacturing apps. In addition, I'm logged in as an admin with all rights. Does somebody has any idea? Thank you very much.  

From my understanding, once we OVERRIDDEN the CustomizedAvailabilityCalculation services, the default Status Expression cannot be used anymore? So if I want is to have different customized Availability calculations for Line and Asset, is it possible? or can we just make the Line 's Status Expression works even the CustomizedAvailabilityCalculation services is overriden?

I'm trying to set up a custom alert notification handler in Asset Advisor, Thingworx 8.3. I have the handler defined & set up as per the customization guide, but I cannot figure out how to get the service called. When I execute the GetNotifcationHandlers service from composer, it works as I would expect - it returns the handlerID, serviceName, etc.   I also have the handler set up in the launchpoint configuration table in the AdditionalAlertNotificationHandler field.   When I manually cause an alert to be fired, the email notification works, but my custom handler is not called. I have a feeling there is some other config that needs to be done somewhere, but I really cant find where that is. No evidence n log files that my handler is even attempted to be called - no permission warnings, etc.   Any ideas?

Hi  I am connecting a Hurco CNC to Thingworx Mnf Apps. MTConnect is installed on the CNC. In Kepware I selected MTConnect when creating a channel. After creating Device I tried to create tags by clicking the create tags link from the tag generation tab , then I got the following errors: Warning: Unable to generate a tag database for device 'MTConnect.Hurco': 'HTTP error: 404' Warning: Unable to generate a tag database for device 'MTConnect.Device1': 'Unable to connect to the agent'.

Hello, How to properly configure the Fanuc LR Mate and the KEPServerEX for data exchange? I wrote IP into the column ID, is this correct? Also I chose the driver under my brand. What else do I need to do?

Currently, I'm doing a Projects & Guides with the name 'Connect Factory Assets Using Controls Advisor (Guide 1)' in ThingWorx Developer Portal. I use ThingWorx Manufacturing Apps Trial as instructed by the guide.  I use: -ThingWorx-Manufacturing-Apps-8.3.0-05.exe (all in one installer) with the port config set to 8080 (default 9080) -KepServerEx 6.3 (both in the same machine)   I have followed all the instruction and step until I found a problem in Step 4: Monitor Servers, Assets and Devices, right after I open the Custom Control Advisor Menu it show error like this picture below :   Looking back to Step 3: Configure Factory Simulator Data, all instruction until load data-0.twx, in ThingWorx Composer, results in a successful message. When I check ApplicationLog in Monitoring in Sidebar Menu, it shows: [context: com.thingworx.webservices.context.HttpExecutionContext@5efc02c0][message: Execution error in service script [Rea

Hello, For some reason the mfg apps menu (aka Application Console) is not populating correctly. The Controls Advisor, Asset Manager and other icons i usd to have have gone.   Any idea about how to solve this?

Hi Developers,   We are working on Thingworx(8.3) to Kepware  integration. This morning we found that the NAIGATE_VIEW product features alone had expired on Saturday. THINGWORX_MFG_APPS features are all still intact.   The factory console page is not showing any of the manufacturing apps. My goal is to map the properties coming from the kepware to the assets in the TWX. I had already created the assets. The default way is to create properties through the Configuration and Setup Mashup and map them to the kepware properties. Is there a workaround for this from the TWX composer itself without using the mashup.Thanks and Regards, Saran 

Hi,   i am trying to use the remote access functionality in manufacturing app. Web socket server and lua script run on a Raspberry Pi. RealVNC server is installed and running fine.   I am able to do file transfer and the tunneling seem to be working. I would like to calculate the performance of a line based on the related children. For example, the performance of the line should be the average of all related assets.I realize that I could add the tags of each asset. But my assets are often related to different lines and I do not want to adjust the calculation every time, just the relationship.In the status it works with "ARE_ALL_CHILDREN_RUNNING: ..".Is there a similiar way to calculate the performance based on the related children?   Thanks for help.Is there an overview of all possible expressions "HAS_ALERTS, ARE_ALL_CHILDREN_RUNNING, and so on ..." for the configuration in Manufacturing Apps?

Please can anyone help with informations about connectivity NI to Kepware? We did LabView project and used NI Shared Variables Engine as OPC tag generator and on Kepware side we created OPC DA client chanel and it working, but when we connect cRIO with shared variables then we can not run the source software. My question is: 1. Is possible to connect directly NI cRIO to Kepware? 2. Is possible use SharedVariableEngine as OPC server or we have to use Kepserver as OPCserver? 3. Or has anyone experience how to do this kind of connection? I can share more detailed information about if someone would help. I really apreciate every help. Thx Karel

Hi, I have installed ThingWorx 8.1.3-b121 and i'm trying to import "MED-61227-CD-010_SP3_ThingWorx-Manufacturing-Apps-8-1-2-extension-bundle". I have checked if i had the license feature for manufacturing apps. GetCurrentLicenseInfo  I have also renamed my license file to "license_capability_response.bin". I'm following the attached guide for setting up the apps. When i try to import the app bundle    grid-advanced_ExtensionPackage:2.0.3 In the Thingworx Application Monitor the following errors were given: "Unable to delete grid-advanced_ExtensionPackage:2.0.3.  This is likely due to other errors: ExtensionPackage grid-advanced_ExtensionPackage Does Not Exist" "Unable to process import: java.lang.NullPointerException" I have also tried to import individual dependency zip files but the grid advanced zip causes the same issue. It's me again, this is because after i reinstall thingworx in a ubuntu server, with a postgresql database (everything looks fine) the OPC servers i used to monitor before are marked in a red cross in the Status column, and the Device status show a "0" in green. It looks like after the reinstall, the application cannot connect to the OPC Servers.   Any idea?   Thanks in advance!

Hi @slangley,   There is an installation issue with respect to license. The installation steps are as follows: I have created "ThingworxPlatform" and "ThingworxPostgresqlStorage" in the root directory(C:\) I have placed the platform.settings.json file in the platform folder. I was following the disconnected scenario for obtaining the license. No change was made in the json file (I used the same as provided from the installables). I started the tomcat No licenserequestfile.txt was generated, so i had used GetInstanceID service on the LicensingSubsystem to retrieve the Instance ID. I observed the below errors Was not able to complete metrics auto enrollment. Could not reach provision server. Unable to retrieve license from FNO server because Connection reset I had retrieved the license file from the License Management Portal. I had renamed it to "license_capability_response.bin" and placed it in the platform folder. Then i ran the AcquireLicense

Hi, I am using version 8.2 thingworx and imported manufacturing apps extensions but I am not able to find the administration set up to add resources but in manufacturing tutorial administration set up is there. Hi Guys,  I have connected KepServer (version 6.2.4620) and Thingworx (version 8.2.5) through IndustrialGateway, whenever I go to the "New Composer" and try to browse the tags from KepServer. I cannot see the channel "_System" tags. But these "_System" tags are visible in Thingworx (version 7.4) "New Composer". Below are the screen shot for your reference. Hello, I have not been able to communicate with my OPC Servers since i reinstalled the manufacturing apps, i am getting the following error in the ApplicationLog.log file:    2018-08-01 13:19:45.445+0000 [L: ERROR] [O: c.t.c.s.c.j.Jsr356ServerConnection] [I: ] [U: ] [S: ] [T: http-nio-8080-exec-4] Error [authenticating connection], Server websocket will be closed.  cause: Missing application key!   Any ideas?

I Import Manufacturing Extension in to my thingworx 8.2 and through which i can access manufacturing app but i don't  know about how to configure Kepware tag and get runtime value for there. i configure server and Discover device successfully....   Thanks in advance
