Other Creo Products (View/Sketch/Illustrate/Layout/ Schematics and Creo Direct)

Yesterday my PC crashed. In the crash, several hours of work in Creo View were lost (positioning assemblies, creating sections and views etc.). Is there any way to recover this from Creo View temporary files?

I have two questions:1 - When from windchill I open a drawing with Creo View every time the login screen on Creo View appears .....you can disable it and open Creo View directly to me?  (image 1.jpg)2 - If I have already opened Creo View, when opening a drawing with Windchill it asks me if I want to open it in the same window or in a new one. Can I always open it in the same window by default ? (image 2.jpg)

Any stacked callouts I create in Illustrate are converted to a single line when I export to IDR, CGM, and SVG. Also seems like the font weight is reduced and line weight is even slightly lower. Anyone else run into this or are there export options somewhere I can edit? Stacked callouts in Illustrate are created in the callout properties dialog using carriage returns after each line. SVG rendering is consistent between Edge, Firefox, Chrome, IsoDraw, and Adobe Illustrator.

Hi again, Here are todays issues with Creo Illustrate 7.0:1. For some reason some symbols disappear after saving and reopening of the file.  They are there as you can see, but they're invisible. Now why those 3 have not changed? There's one distinct thing about them - I have them in a couple of other figures and I had them before I created this figure above. After I placed a symbol that was already in the figure, saved and reopened - BOOM, the original appears...So are we supposed to place hundreds of symbols back into figures every now and then and then delete them  because they randomly bug out?  2. Somehow after just repositioning a newly created figure (seriously, why do new figures always end up on the bottom when they would be created just below a selected figure in any reasonable software in current century??) one of my figures just disappeared, which I noticed after saving and reopening of the file. It seems like Illustrate auto-assigns item numbers in the Item List based on the sequence number. Usually, that's helpful because I don't have to manually edit every single callout. In the below list I add seq 0, it defaults to 1 and I manually (right-click and choose renumber from the menu) change it to 1,2.The next callout defaults to seq 1, item 2 and I manually change it to 1,3Next callout defaults to seq 2, item 3. I right-click, choose renumber, tell it to derive the item number from the sequence and change sequence to 3. Great. Fine. At this point I want Illustrate to just pick up the numbering at 4. Why does it duplicate 3? And if i manually re-number this duplicate 3 to be seq 4 then the next callout I add will duplicate 4.If I were to, say, skip from seq 3 to seq 5 then the next callout I add would go back to 4. Occasionally Illustrate will skip ahead in the seq order; e.g. jump from 3 to 10, 11, 12, etc. Why? What is Illustrate referencing to get it's seq numb

Hi,is it possible to change the "Item tag" in item list under Creo Illustrate? What I mean by that:In my case Item Tag displays part numbers because it references one of 3 parameters(attributes) from Creo (don't know which yet"). Hi,I have Creo Illustrate 7. When I try to edit some types of keyframes the programme hangs. It's almost guaranteed and makes editing sequences or animations extremely frustrating and nearly impossible in case you need many edits to take place (such as position adjustments). It rarely happens when I edit geometry or camera keyframes.It nearly always happens when I try to edit anything else, such as callouts, symbols. It happens when I mark or unmark visibility option for a keyframe or when I type in (usually when I tab to or click another cell) position. Did anyone notice that behaviour and found a solution?

We are not able to view any imported geometry within Creo Illustrate 8.1. Previous actions that worked involved changing the Filters settings.This worked in Illustrate 7 but does not in our current version.

Hi, I have just connected Creo Illustrate to Windchill (without Windchill Workgroup Manager, just direct connection). I choose Import - Link - and browse to my workspace but it is completely empty. When I look at the exact same workspace in Creo, then there are all the files in all the formats that I saved. What could be the issue and how to fix it? Kind regards,Tom

Hi,On my journey with setting up Creo Illustrate I've found out that videos (MP4) generated by the software have way different dimensions or viewing area if you please, than what's visible in Creo illustrate while recording. It defeats all the purpose of doing sequences or animations if you can't predict what's going to be visible in the actual video export.So am I missing something or is there an option to adjust the Figure page size to what's going to be exported so that I know what I record is what's going to end up in the actual video?Photo 1: Creo Illustrate view. A3 page setup.Photo 2: Recording view  EDIT:Ok...so apparently when you hit "Export" everything works fine, however publishing as MP4 is completely different. Hello, to continue my project I want to use Creo PRODUKT INSIGHT. Before starting the project I wanted to know how this works. I created a simple CSV file. I also created a part as a sensor and defined the sensor parameters in a xml file.  (CSV, XML files and Errors are in the PDF)   When I load the CSV file in the assembly, I get the following error message.  invalid input It is necessary to complete one of the measured parameters   I don't know what I missed. Which parameters do I have to complete? Do you have any idea to fix this error?   Thanks a lot  

One of our checkers had a question that I don't know the answer to.  "I do NOT know the technique to “Save” my work in CREO View on an incremental basis;  my (now retired) instructor didn’t know either  -  so, I have to check an entire drawing in one session, no matter how complex the drawing is … Not a problem for smaller drawings, but larger ones, it becomes a tense race." So is there a way for the checker to save his markup work locally and pick up the checking again the next day and then submit it to windchill after he as finished. We would kind of hate to have multiple markups in Windchill that the user would have to look though to fix the drawing.

Hello,In the last few days I have been studying the possibility to run creo view on a touchscreen computer. However I am not capable to use the feature to transform a part (translate or rotate) nor to select by window. It just seems that the equivalent function left click and drag of the mouse is not supported in touchscreen.Is it possible to clarify if this is possible to do using a touchscreen?Also, Is it possible to select part, one by one using touchscreen? Equivalent to Ctrl+left clickThank you in advance.

we have limited licenses for MCAD.   are there any command switches we can use to force a launch of  CREO VIEW LITE instead of Creo View MCAD?   We are looking to make it easier for users (that are not native Creo users.) We'd prefer that anytime someone opens a .PVZ from the hard drive thru windows explorer, it should open LITE by default. If they intend to modify and save a PVZ they can manually launch the MCAD version.  when they close that it releases the license.  Would like to prefer to hide that startup menu. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I created a Creo Illustrate file and embedded all CAD models (none were linked). Recently I opened the .c3di file, and saw the pop up message: "To open the file it must be updated to use a standard. The default standard 'Creo Standard' will be used. Do you want to continue?" I clicked "yes" and then opened the file. Half of the CAD odels were unchecked and missing - in the sBOM (and the eBOM) they were unchecked & had red "X"'s by them. I have attached a screen-clip. Does anyone have any idea what happened?   All I can think of is starting over from scratch -- since the file seems to be ruined.   Thanks, Wes

Hi.I've created a couple of figures in Creo illustrate 7.0. I published them and now I wish to view them in Creo View Lite 5.1. As far as 3d formats are concerned everything seems to work fine and pdf files for 2d views open as well. The problem lies with .idr and .cgm files which when I try to open Creo View hangs and I need to shut it down. I can import a standalone .cgm file - Creo View asks to choose to either open it as and Illustration or a Drawing. The drawing works, the illustration hangs the program. If I open a pvz file I have no option available to open those as Drawings and it always hangs. Is it the case because I try to open them in Creo View 5.1 and they're not compatible or there's some other issue? P.S. 1. Why callouts end up moved around randomly when I open the published pvz file in Creo View?2. Why color overrides are not present in published pvz file?
