Using Crew Illustrate, is there a way to LOCK a figure so that the BOM and the figure view cannot be changed? I create multiple figures within a working model for illustrations and would like to LOCK a figure once its completed.

I work with very large assemblies, its very efficient to visualize them on Creo View and make annotations of the parts and assemblies of your interest. How I can import/migrate the annotation on Creo View to Creo Parametric? (turning on component/assemblies of your interest in Creo Parametric is very time consuming). Thanks for your help.

Hi together,   in Creo View on my iPad I see a sandwich button (green circled in picture) in the pre-installed example for opening a overview of all views. I've loaded a pvz from Creo Illustrate 6.0 with several views and sequences onto the iPad. I can open it, but the Button is missing, I can only see one view. Can anyone help?   Cheers whity    

A question has been asked if this is possible to push this thru the spool CSV file.

I am looking for a solution that reduces the need to re-design from the ground up a model similar to a previous one. Is there anyway to setup Creo or any of its related products to take given dimensions or criteria as input and output a model depending on those values? Even if the model still needs adjustment, this would help just to help reduce redundancy and unnecessary steps.

When I create an Annotation with a leader line and I assign it the color Black (RGB 0,0,0), for some reason the leader will layer itself above the rest of the annotation and the halo. But when I change the leader line to be RGB 1,1,1 the line will be layered under the annotation and the halo. But, this only happens when I create an SVG. The PDF looks fine. The Figure on the screen looks fine. It's just when I save it to an SVG. Why does it behave this way? This created much confusion for me. Unless I'm doing something wrong.   Thanks in advance.

When Publishing to say SVG or PDF from Illustrate 6.0, the filenames get l-SVG - and .en added, or l-PDF - for the PDF files. I can't seem to find this anywhere in documentation, but I'd like to stop it if I can. Can this be changed in some config file? I name all my figures to a specific naming structure, but these added characters add more work for me to remove them. I created a script to rename the files that takes a few seconds, but I'd rather not have to do this every time.

Hello to all, I'm trying to export a Creo Parametric assembly in pvz that contains annotations both at the assembly level and at the part level. Annotations are found in several combined states. The latter are exported to the pvz and I display them in Creo View 6.0. However, only the combined states of the assembly are exported, but not those contained in the parts. Is there a possibility to do it? If so, how? Thank you, Matteo

I'm having an issue where I have a wheel and tire assembly. I'm manually doing the item list. I'm needing the wheel and tire assembly to be grouped in one number, then i need to number the parts that go into that assembly like whats pictured. Any thought on how to do this properly? 

When using insets (detail views of part or subassy's) one would expect that the inset cuold be set to a sertain scale. In and until illustrate 6.1 it is not possible to set an inset to a specific scale.    My idea would be to implement and scale factor according to the main imported 3D file. 

Hello   CREO Drawing module fails to me with respect ease of use when creating assembly instruction. I consider using some extra software to hekp me make those instructions faster. There is Creo Illustrate. So far I found it intresting however I was told it does not create bom tables nor help to manage/edit/modify them. This is big issue to me and big miss. Second one is a price wich for annual period is bigger than my CREO Essential package proce (missing only AAX, ISDX, BMX,)   did any one of have any experience with Illustrate or any other software?

Nowadays, once Creo VIew opened a file, then this file is always being using, can't be deleted. It's better to add a close file or clean memory function in Creo View. Thanks!

I developed a customized class and it works well with Creo Schematics API method call.  I would like to extend my class and it needs to call some third-party methods (google guava for example).   The code has no issue to get compiled and I place the *.jar file to same direction as my customized class and I also try to place it in lib direction but my methods cannot call anything from *jar file (throw exception that class not found).   Where is the right folder I should put the *jar file?    

When PTC dropped the support for the Creo Illustrate Workgroup Manager, there is no support for searching for GDD (Illustration Source) and nor for the C3DI file from the Creo Illustrate application. When importing a GDD from Windchill, the user needs to navigate the folders in the Products/Libraries to find it. Many companies have a lot of Products/Libraries (in some cases hundreds of them). Also, when opening an existing C3DI file, the user needs to browse the folder structure in Windchill from Creo Illustrate to open it.  I propose adding functionality to search for and import GDDs from Windchill inside Creo Illustrate and also add support for "Open in Creo Illustrate" from Windchill in the same way as we can select "Open in Creo View".

Hello All, Sheet metal tangent lines on drawing views. Is it common to display your sheet metal drawing views with tangent line set to "None"? Is there an industry standard, company standard, or personal preference that defines this? My years in design and drafting I have typically used "Dimmed" for tangent lines on views. I now have a request to not show the tangent lines for sheet metal views. I'm curious to hear what others use. These are basic part 3 inch wide about 20 inch long with 1 inch 90deg bends. So it is not an overly complicated object.   Thanks in advance.

We have a group within our organization that has been starting to dabble a in Creo Illustrate over the past few weeks, and we are having issues getting files to import from Windchill PDMLink.  To start off, we are on Creo 4.0 M060, Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS11, and Creo Illustrate 4.2 in place for our organization at the time.   What we are finding is that if designers (those with access to the CAD documents) are working with Creo Illustrate WITHOUT being connected to Windchill, we can export the files from Creo, and import into Creo Illustrate with no issue.  Those designers can also send those files to our Technical Writing team (no direct access to CAD documents), and the Tech Writers can import those files into Illustrate without issue.   We begin to experience issues when we connect to Windchill.  We are not able to import our CAD documents into Illustrate when connected.  We get the file structure, but no viewables whatsoever.   What we are wo

Hello all, We are having issues, where all of our cables are showing only as a centerlines in illustrate and creo view. This is a problem when we need to show cable routings. i have tried turning on all the model filters. I know our design team uses the cable module from creo parametric, i had them try to set the "display cable thickness" on from there end. then saving it to windchill, but no luck.  All of our Cad data is uploaded to windchill, which creates GDD(pvz) files that we import into creo illustrate.  Are we missing modules or is there something in winchchill thats causing this? Hello there,   this should be a very simple thing to do I just cannot figure it out how.   Basically how do I create a new template, so that I can add my logo, revisions chart, and so on?   the basic tutorial uses default templates so it really does not help on this matter.   I appreciate any feedback on this matter   Thanks    

Has anyone else run into the "Selected part does not have enough geometric detail" when applying decals in Creo Illustrate 6.1? We wanted to use this to apply images to the decal parts in our assemblies but many of them are simple geometry and we are getting this message. 

When viewing and printing our pro/e drawings from Creo View Express, our hidden lines show and print as solid lines.  Our purchasing dept uses this program to print drawings and pdfs to order parts, and as you could guess this has caused us many problems.   Upgrading from Creo View Express 3.0 to 3.1 helped a little because it added the option to view and print drawings as grayscale (rather than just monochrome or color) which makes the hidden lines gray, however they are still solid which is not ideal.  Any suggestions?Thanks,Todd

Hi,   In Creo Illustrate 6.0 I can see four different checkbox icons in sBOM - see the image below. All parts are enabled in the BOM. I cannot find explanation for them anywhere. Could you explain what do that four icons mean, please?   Thank you! Marcin Gorecki

Hello,   I'm trying a trial version of Creo Illustrate standard. I'm working with a very large assembly, i created the pvz file with creo then imported it with Illustrate, everything seems OK, the parts that were hidden in Creo are not visible. But, when I start creating sequence steps, the hidden parts start showing up. Anyone with this problem?   Thanks
