Hello,   Is anyone having issues with model components randomly relocating themselves during animation playback?  This issue is driving me nuts!  I start with a mechanical assembly explode, to display all assembly components.  Then, I fade out all parts except for the initial part.  Process step by process step, I fade in components and rotate, annotate, inset the view on key features, flash, bring in arrows, bring in tools, etc. to create the assembly sequence.  After a couple hours of work, during animation playback, random components will relocate and reorient from its original placement in the animation to some other odd location and orientation in the display view.  This ruins the 2 hours of work to create the animation, because you try to place the component where it's supposed to be, but when you play the animation the component will relocate again to an even more odd location and orientation.  Are there any other Creo Illustrate users tha

We have CAD parts that contain the item's BOM callout number in their metadata. What is the most convenient way to assign the callouts for one level of a BOM to the item number table to create callouts?   Is there any way to edit a callout besides manually making edits to the table?   Is there a way to put the callouts and their positions in order in the table if you manually assign callouts that are not sequential or have multiples? example: 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 5, 6, 6, 9, 10 as positions 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 without entering them in that exact order.   What is the best way to identify a specific part twice, such as identifying the part in a figure, and then also in an inset, or identifying both ends of a hose / conduit / tie rod in a complex or confusing view?

Is there any way to either point an inset to a different figure within a PVZ or have the inset display a different sBOM than the view it's drawn from?   Can you import two sets of the same model to create more flexibility? You could certainly show one in phantom while animating / exploding / hiding parts in front of it.   Is there a way to animate an inset without animating the model?   Is there any way to create a viewport from one figure to the next instead of using this seemingly limited inset tool? For example; I create a locator with several annotations for a transmission like "go to pump installation" and by clicking the notation, I can open the pump installation figure? or potentially the pump installation PVZ?

Is there anyway to set the annotation tools to specific orders? E.G. making custom callout and inset tools and then making them the default tool?   Is there a way to add custom page sizes (e.g. D size, A1, etc) to improve translation to isodraw? We find large assemblies are mathing out at terrible visual qualities and would defer to exporting a file well over scale and fitting it to a template in isodraw.   Can you only add "customized" tool bar items to the extra tool set at the very top frame? Or can you add them to ribbon sets? Not having the go to figure view / use current figure view pull down all the time is very inconvenient.

Hi,When saving figures as illustration (SVG or CGM) from Creo Illustrate (3.1 and 4.0), I expect that the final SVG export is an identical representation of what is shown in the graphics area of Creo Illustrate. In my case however, certain paths (not all) of underlying parts become visible in the final SVG export while these are not visible in the Creo Illustrate graphics area. I tried playing around with the different export options (Thick/Thin lines_Surface borders_Enhanced intersections, Segments_Polylines_Beziér paths, ...) but no difference. There are also no phantom parts in my model.Does anyone have any suggestions please? Thanks in advance.

When I publish my Creo Illustrate visualization as PVZ (3D representation) they seem to be empty when my team members try to open them in Productview. The structure tree and everything is empty too. What am I doing wrong?

I have a customer request to do work instruction using Creo Illustrate to create animation if can record voice or sound clip will be good instead of using attached note for video.

In Creo Illustrate, there is an option to turn on/off page size for a figure as long as the Figure as not been set as an animation or sequence. However, after the animation/sequence is selected, the page size control is grayed out and unable to be modified.   This locked area remains on the screen during editing as well as during export meaning any video export at a higher resolution includes a grayed out area around the entire export.   Is there a way to disable the page size without having to recreate the entire animation? Related: is there a way to disable gnomon in animation export the same way it is in image export? Or to batch export each frame as a still image using the Save Figure As > Save as Image file?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how an admin moves artifacts into a central catalog in Creo Schematics. I've tried this several times, and I've gone over the help files several times; but, I'm missing something. I've created a base template, packed, that resides in the catalog directory. From what I understand from what I've read, as an admin, I have to open up the base template, and add the parts from the temporary submission directory (or the artifacts that had been zipped and moved to the catalog directory?). In any event, I have no option in Creo schematics to add artifacts from outside of the current session, and even so, I fail to see how to submit parts to the central catalog. My only option is to add artifacts to the temporary submission. directory. The help center tells me that "to submit a folder and all its contents to the Central Catalog form Catalog Explorer or Datatable Explorer, right-click an item and choose Submit from the shortcut menu or select it and click (package sym

We are trying to start using Creo View more, but the initial view has all the components turned off and when I turn them on the model is at a weird viewing angle.     I'd like to set this up so that the casual user gets a useful view at startup...   I can create an "Annotation Set", but how can I get that to come up as the default view?   Thanks 

When I start Creo View 3.1, it defaults to the "Model" Tab in the upper left column.   Can I get it to default to the "Annotation Sets" Tab so the user would immediately see all the Annotations Sets available?   Thanks

In Creo Illustrate 3.1 - is it possible to rearrange the figures on has made?

If I save a Creo Schematics design as an EDA file, I get the following message when opening it in Creo View:   ---    Requested Creo View ECAD license is not available at this time.  Features requiring this license will not be available --- The design opens up anyway.   We do not intend (at this time) to do any circuit board work in Creo View. Are their features in the ECAD license that enhance the viewing of Creo Schematics designs?

Went through the Direct introduction and only saw GD&T creation at the drawing level.   It was stated in the commercial it was a great tool for consumers of authored items from engineering for defeaturing and quick concept investigations. But I am sure it can have a better seat at the table than that.   Does the latest version have the ability to add annotations in the model for dimension schema based on current GD&T standards?

We use Windchill with the Windchill WorkGroup Manager, so all of our designs are .rsd packed design files. We started with Schematics 2, using .rsd files for the templates.  This was before .rsdt files showed up.   What does moving to .rsdt files for our templates do for us?  IE: what features do they have that .rsd files do not or other benefits?

I'm setting up a report table with part numbers of the connector, wedge, terminals, seals and plugs. I see that there are 2 tabs in the Report Engine window (Report Table & Detail). The Detail tab I have figured out, from what I can tell it's reading the port parameters, but the connector and wedge part number are in the Component Parameters. I have search and read but can't find a way to get them in my report table. Putting them in the port parameters shouldn't have to be an option since they are tied to the component already, plus that means I'd have to edit all of my artifacts. 

Noticed some interesting behavior in Creo view.1. If there is no preview in the panel, clicking on it opens the familiar "sent to publisher" popup and a preview is created.  This occurs when there is a CAD object with Owner association. 2. If there is no preview in the panel, clicking on it opens the latest CAD object related to the WTPart and you can view the CAD object in Creo View.  The odd thing is, that the latest CAD object is an Image Association and there is an older CAD object with Owner Association.   See screen shot.   Shouldn't the system open the Owner CAD object?James - Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS08

Is there a way to print the sBOM in Creo Illustrate?   And is there a way to compare to sBOM's in Creo Illustrate - two different models?   Thank you.

A model that I made and saved as a .c3di file has several parts hidden because they are not needed.   I imported a .pvz file of an assembly by link. When the process was complete, the hidden parts of the model had been turned back on. I tried to import by embedding the .pvz file with the same results.   I tried saving the .pvz file as a .c3di file first, and then linking or embedding.   The same results happened.   The model was made in a Illustrate version 3. The .pvz assembly was mad in Creo® Parametric and then saved as a .pvz file in Illustrate version 4.1.   Illustrate version 4.1 is being used to do the work.   Thanks for any help.

I'm looking to apply a dataset to an artifact as part of a java method to automatically grab and apply datasets to all wires on a sheet, but am getting caught at the final step. I have a populated artifact, and know which dataset to apply, but am having trouble figuring out how to marry the two together.    Here's a quick rundown of pseudo code:   for each wire on page {      verify wire has valid parameters      if (wire is valid) {          grab artifact information for wire          check for a matching dataset          if (matching dataset exists) {             apply dataset to wire          // Here's what I don't know how to do         }     } } Can someone guide me towards if / how I can go about finishing this? I think I'm close to the solution, but I've got to be missing

Hi all,   Is there a way to edit my customized Creo Illustrate callout to point to the ASM part attributes instead of the PRT part attributes? I'm working with a model that has the connector number metadata that I'm attempting to target in the ASM (highlighted in structure) and not the PRT. Most of the models I work with have the connector metadata in the PRT file and my custom callout works fine. Is there a way to modify the XML to get this to work? Hello all, I try to customize our callouts in CreoIllustrate to show attritbutes from the parts/asms, I am struggeling with adding spaces inbeetween text and the attribute. Ok...so I'm tyring to modify the XML file for user preferences so I can distribute to other user's and have their cache set up and enabled.  What is the line of text I need for the value of cache_location?  I've tried about 10 different variants without any luck.   I'm trying to go here...

Hi,There are dark artifacts of square shape when selecting or positioning the cursor over the model.The graphic driver is up to date  (Intel HD graphics 520, ver. 25.20.100.6326)   There is a screen capture attached. Have you any idea to solve this issue ?Regards,Yann
