Hello, Iam new user of Creo Illustrate 4.1 and I want to use this program to make spare parts catalog. For this I need to export spare pats list structure to excel. On TAB Item List in Column chooser I can pick fields I want, which will import from PVZ Iam mainly use. But for somehow, when I go to new project, there is no this settings and i have to pick all fields manuly again. Can you please someone help me to set this settings as pernament in Illustrate ? Or it can be only in my standard. Thank you, BR, Jiri.
Where can I download creoview web tool kit. I need to publish my 3D models in web. I'm able to download installers for creoview clients and adapters. Does one of these contains toolkit or do we need seperate installers for this.
Hi.I'm currently struggling with with a use case in Creo Schematics that hopefully a more experienced user can help me with. I want to extract part of the fiber name into a new parameter of the fiber (e.g. Signal). Let me explain: If the fiber uses the name format W## (Name e.g. W03) then I want to calculate the value of another parameter that calculate and extracts the number from the name. Example 1: Name = W03 Signal = 03 (calculated = yes) Example 2: Name = W10 Signal = 10 (calculated = yes) I'm not sure if this makes any sense. I assume that Java needs to be involved somehow but thats not my area och expertise. BR Jonas Fransson
Customize ribbon in Creo Schematics. I imported a creo_schematics_user_customization.ui or created a new tab. How do I get the .BAC to populate in the customized tab. that I've created. there is no browse for placing the .bac into the designated location of the UI. If you tell me i need toolkit I might blow a gasket. Bart Brejcha Design-engine.com
What is the intended use of Creo Schematics Lite? Is the intent of PTC for any company producing P&IDs for external communication to buy the full version of Schematic? You cannot export anything but XML files, so it seems this is not intended for communicating with customers or vendors. I was told by sales reps it would fulfill our needs for making P&IDs, but now that I have it, I don't think it will. Shame on me for not researching further myself, but I was told the only limitation was the size of projects. So a big engineering firm would never get by with Lite, but a smaller operation could use it to complement the piping & cabling plugin that it comes with. Is this not the case? Is it primarily just a sample?
Sample Code: I'm looking for some sample code written in JAVA 1.7 to interface to schematics. I want to update a parameter on an artifact that I have in the schematics using JAVA. There are really no examples to follow. I would be happy with the standard "Hello World" code just to see if I could get the code to work through the gateway interface.
How do I use Schematics Java API to retrieve all possible parameters (with types) for a selected artifact instead of retrieving just params that have a value? Ex: Artifact.getProperties returns a list of parameters that have been assigned a value. I am looking for the equivalent of Artifact.listAllAvailableParameters. It appears to me that the samples show how to validate a list of parameters a user is wanting to set, not pulling available parameters from an artifact type. Thanks!
Hello there, I'm trying to open a file using the creoview mobile (iOS) url scheme. Is there a way to directly open a file using this url scheme? Greetings, lsluijter
hello all, is it possible to use in the *alternative name in a automatic balloon? I mean, you can customize the sBOM tree to see "alternative name" (option / global / General / navigation / use alternative name and customize it). You can now see several value attributes like a description instead of the original sBOM name. this is very usefull when the name is like an Part code and you don't want to rename each line. but now, I would like to use what you see in sBOM in a balloon! the idea behind this, is to be able to use several balloon customizations with only one note type (i.e. sometimes I use the sBOM name, sometimes I use a custo name like a description, or a Code&Material, ...) I found the Illustrate cusomization in user_prefs.xml: <category name="Navigation"> <preference name="AltTextGroup1" value=""/> <preference name="AltTextProp1" value=" - Mat: "/> <preference name="AltTextType2" value="
When I try to open a PDF file in Creo View 4.1 I just see a white screen with the title of the PDF file nothing else. I have Adobe Acrobat installed on my machine. Everyone else with Adobe Reader can open the PDF in Creo View 4.1. I do have the option "Display PDF in a browser" checked in my Adobe preferences. I can open other files in Creo View just not PDF files.
Hello, I supposed a radial deflection of 0,15 [mm] for each arc of these two device; I obtained the the stress of device with 3 arc is Greater then the stress of device with 4 arc.. I'm not sure of this results.. To define the radial deflection I had used a relative frame XYZ, not absolute WCS; Is it possibile calculate the force at costraints with the relative frame XYZ? Thank you
I am currently investigating Creo View and its capabilities. I have a few questions. - Can Creo View be launched from Windchill on a dynamic document (ex. - xml, png)? - Can Creo View be launched from Windchill if the document was created in ArborText? - What is Creo View Standard and how is it different than the other view types (MCAD, ECAD, MCAD+ECAD)? - To annotate anything, is there an add-on that needs to be installed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am using the dg_get_sheet_info(seq_num) and dg_get_sheet_info(num_sheets) functions in a label to show the number of the current sheet and the total number of sheets (ex: 2 of 6). The seq_num property is not one of the properties I have access to in the Sheet Properties window. It seems to be automatically assigned based on the creation order of sheets and modified when sheets are deleted. Is there any way to modify the seq_num of a sheet directly to shift a given sheet up or down in the sequence? (ex: make a given sheet 3 of 6 where it was 2 of 6 before?). Simply renaming the sheet to the desired number is not working, nor is changing the sheet order in the design explorer. Thanks, AC
Although I have noticed a wide variety of awkward use of vocabulary over the years of Pro/DIAGRAM to RSD through to Creo Schematics like ‘block’ vs ‘blocks’ (Blocks should have been called Symbols) LOL , I can contend w/ strange use of the English language. This leads me to the variety of uses of the word template. In the directory structure I have set a specific directory for Design Templates yet Creo Schematics title blocks are .she files located in the link below. Why does Creo Schematics call a template and it can have so many variations. C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 4.0\M010\Schematics\x86e_win64\creoschematics\template These are the .she files (the PTC title blocks templates that install stock w/ Creo Schematics) Ultimately I want to organize my own tile blocks w/ various company logos etc and set custom parameters. Save and pack the design - File save a copy …
I just found a "PSF" file in our Creo Schematics program directory. As far as I can find, it is not referenced in any way and the directories referenced in it are not correct. Is this a useful file to set up for configuring Schematics for our users? If so, what can it do?
Would any of these make sense for an enhancement requests? 1 Since I have to route the network anyway, why not have the network UI have an option to convert to a bundle and another UI function to pack the individual conductors to follow the bundle (was network) . Depending upon your perspective a network is by hand and the bundle is by hand so why not make those the same thing? ie. route wires to follow bundle or network is the same in the utility. 2 It is my understanding that CAT has an Auxiliary App called 'electric lines'. Where harness designers can pack wires/conductors inside a bundle. We need that! 3 Fan out is too finicky. Instead of failing can we simply throw an error instead? 4 When inside the 'Rout Cables' dialog box why can't I use CONT-F or CONT-A to find or select all the wires. It's 2018 5 Striped wires LOL but it looks cool. Ba
Can we be treated like adults and have the option to turn off the various "Are you sure....?" dialogues, or at least default to 'Yes' with a middle click to accept.
Please a command and function to automatically convert assumed missing references to permanent references for features displaced by other features. Lets say you forget to add draft before placing a round. Now you insert before the round to add the draft and the references for the round become assumed (have a orange ball in front). I would like to a right click command that would allow me to select all and or some of the assumed references in the dialog box and make them permanent references. The system has an idea what references I want it to use, now I want to tell it yes go ahead and make those permanent references with out me having to re-route or reselecting them. It would also be nice to have a global menu command to just make all assumed references permanent. This is more of an issue starting with Creo 1.0 and later. Thanks, Don Anderson
Currently PDF export in Creo Parametric saves all shaded graphics in raster. For DRAWINGs, to get "shaded" PDFs with VECTOR graphics, you need to set to non-shaded view displays (ie: NO HIDDEN) and manually fill (Layout>>Hatch/Fill) and color individual feature surfaces one by one. This is tedious and time consuming. There should be an export OPTION to directly convert shaded views (in ALL modes; ie: ASSEMBLY, PART and DRAWING) into VECTOR graphics with shaded/rendered areas as distinct FILLED OBJECTS in the assigned part colors with lighting gradients. Furthermore, this vectorizing option should be given to all vector capable export formats (eg: *.DWG) and more vector graphics export formats should also be added (eg: *.ai from Adobe Illustrator).
Often, new users to the forum fail to disclose the version of software they are using or the extensions they have loaded. I suggest someone add the appropriate field in our profiles and publish it in our avatar window in posts. I would also like to know if it would be appropriate to add current maintenance status with an "opt out" for displaying this information. It would make helping people so much easier
When we want to hatch a closed loop sketch curve, the feature must be done then redefine to offer the possibility to set the hatching option This is not a direct process. Please add this setting directly from the sketch definition.
I would like to have the Where Used functionality avilable inside Windchill available inside ProE/Creo.
It is pratically impossible to see the difference between a sketch or a datum reference in a sketch: points.CSYS, axis. Please change the geometric display of datum references.
Would it be possible to display a Scale in the corner of the screen showing ratio of Model or drawing that is being displayed on the screen. The scale would automatically change as you zoomed in/out from the Part or Drawing. This would be very helpful for creating intricate parts as it would be easy to know when you are seeing the true size displayed on the screen. Regards
