Creo View Drawing Compare.. seems like we took something that should be easy and made it very hard. Why can't I find the drawing I want to compare two seperate revisions or iterations of that I find on the details page with the history tab, select the two objects and choose open in CREO VIEW. Then In Creo View I should be able to do something as easy as select the two and pick a compare action. What is the deal with adding to clipboard "and you cannot add them both from the history tab, it claims it adds them but it dosn't". You have to go to each of the objects detail page in order to have the drawings show up on the clip board. Now you have to go to the clipboard and select both objects and choose to open in Creo view. Once you get the objects in Creo.. not very intuitive regarding the compare option or getting the overlay of the two drawings....

Hello.   I have recently started to use Creo Mechanism which is a bit finnicky and not user friendly but I think I am slowly getting the hang of it. I have set up a mechanism with a spring between two bodies. This seems to work as intended however the graphical representation of the spring has decided to follow the motion of a different body altogether. Does anyone know what is wrong here?   I attach a picture that tries to illustrate the problem.   It is a small problem but it is not fun to explain to anyone that the simulation is probably physically correct and that it is just the graphics that are wrong.   Kind regards Jimmie

Hello, all!Is there a default setting to have Creo View start with the graphics area maximized (i.e. all toolbars, panels, etc. minimized....see below...)?  I don't see anything in the preferences and I don't see any mention of this on the communities or tech support.  Maybe even a manual edit to the preferences xml would do (if not supported).Thanks, all!

I have tried and it's highly confusing to retrieve information regarding model and model descriptions, like getting model type and some places I am only able to get the first child and its siblings but not its root element. Can anyone help me which class and methods should be used to get the information about session, model, model descriptions in pview.jar?

I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced a similar problem with losing figures in Creo Illustrate 3.1 and knew of any causes or solutions.  I worked in the same file several times with no issues.  After making about a dozen figures in the file including a couple animations, I lost all but two figures.  I worked in the file one day and everything seemed fine so I saved it and closed the file and program.  Later that day I opened the file up to find my figures gone and no trace of them.  It appears that I am only left with the first and last figures that I had in the file.  Anyone else experience this and have any idea what the cause or solution could be to this issue?

Add extend line function/button to sketcher to simplify extending line process and speed up sketch creation.   SW has very simple and easy to use extend line button.   Click the Extend Button, click on the line or curve you want to extend. Done! The line extends to the next line in sketcher. Click again and it extends to the next line again. We currently do and have done numerous piping and electrical schematics in AutoCAD. We are wanting make a change to Creo Schematics at the beginning of 2017. With our existing drawings in AutoCAD, will we have trouble inserting them into Creo, and if so what can we expect?   Thanks

Does Creo View Express 3.0 allow you to change the color of parts? If so, can you tell me how?

When creating an illustration, and using section view of the model, capping the section does not affect to the SVG export in any way. Creo Illustrate needs to cap the section when exporting to SVG as well. The lines behind the capped geometry are visible in the SVG export, but not in the illustration. In case of using a real number model parameter in a sketch text, the leading zero of a parameter whose value is less than 1 appears. Users may want to remove that zero from the text.

Is there a way to save any images or illustrations with either no background or a transparent background?

Last week I made several annotations in one of my Creoview representations.  I saved them. I know I saved them because I closed out of the program and got back to them the next day. Now, I open the Creoview representation and I do see any annotations. What might have happened to them?  I didn't o anything to erase them. The drawing is going through an approval loop in Windchill, could that have affected the annotation set? Thanks, Kenny.

When I use Creo Illustrate, and do a File\import\Link\ I get a list of .pvz files that the program will open from inside the program. A .3cdi file will not open from inside Creo Illustrate.However, If I double click on a .3cdi file (and Creo Illustrate has not been started), Creo Illustrate starts up and the .3cdi file is opened without any problem.I am still fairly new to Creo Illustrate so the answer to my question may be quite obvious. Please help me to understand.We use both types of files where I work and do not differentiate any (at this time) between the two forms  -.pvz and .3cdi -. I have created a repair procedure consisting of about 12 sequence steps in Creo Illustrate 3.0. I am able to step through the sequence in Creo Illustrate.   BUT...   How do I export or output this procedure so it can be seen and followed by others?   Any help appreciated!   Tom Burton

We need an improvement in “grouping” at Creo Illustrate. When an SolidWorks assembly is imported, Creo Illustrate recieves each part and subassembly with a subsequential number for the quantity of instances in front of the name, as <xx>. This sequential number interferes a lot when grouping the quantities of componentes at the items list. I have to follow these steps for the grouping to work:   Step 1. To apply balloons in combined assemblies, select the option “Grouping” and poit the option “Compare names”; Step 2. Select the combined assemblies and apply the balloons; Step 3. To apply balloons in parts, choose the option “grouping” and point the option “Use structure instance creation”; Step 4. Select the parts and apply the balloons;   The ideal would be to select all of the items, whether part or assembly, and ask to group the quantity for the files with identical names.

We need more advanced options to control the explosion lines. In Creo Illustrate 4.0 it is only possible to control the start and end of the explosion line. It would be interesting for the user to have an improved control on the line to determine what is the path traveled by explosion lines. Like the image attached

We're trying to use Creo View to capture screen shots for documentation but extra lines are showing up in Creo View that don't appear in Creo Parametric:   These lines appear to be where Creo Parametric splits each of the cylindrical surfaces: Does anyone know if it's possible to either turn off the display of these lines in Creo View or configure the Creo View Adapters so they don't get published?

Hi,I am using PTC Windchil and after selecting the model i wish to view and manipulate from Windchil, CreoView just opens as a black screen. It was working fine on the friday and yesterday the problem appeared.HELP!!. Thanks in advance.

Is the SVG-code from CREO Illustrate customizable? I would like to change attributes to what defines hotspots so they can be recognized by our CMS.   Illustrate uses visibility hidden and class hotspot hotspot_1. <path stroke="none" fill="#FF0000" visibility="hidden" fill-rule="nonzero" pointer-events="all" id="ID_1033" class="hotspot hotspot_1" I want to group the hotspots and use id in below fashion. Instead of visibility hidden use style opacity. <g id="hotspots"> <path id="id1_hotspot" style="opacity:0;fill:#FFFFFF;" This is a way one can do it with Adobe Illustrator - but a step we would gladly eliminate.   We are also planning to use Windchill to save our work and then make WNC copy the SVGs to an area for pickup by our CMS. I prefer to set all my applications to display as dark as possible to make them as easy on my eyes as I can.  Office 2016 is set to black, Visual Studio is set to dark, my Creo graphics window back ground is set to a dark color, but the surrounding window elements like the ribbon, navigation pane, status bar, etc. are all bright white or light gray.  I'd like to see themes implemented to darken these window elements.  I mostly use Parametric, but I'm assuming this is the same across all Creo apps.

In Creo 3.0-m110 the install guide says to use this syntax like this to do a silent install: start /w "CreoView_Express_32_64.exe" /vADDLOCAL="ALL" /qn APPLICATIONFOLDER="C:\ptc\Creo 3.0\CreoViewExpress" The problem is, in the downloaded files the target file of this command isn't a .exe, it's a .msi.The command that works has this syntax: "Creo 3.0-m110 software\install\addon\pvx32_64\pvexpress\CreoView_Express_32_64.msi" /passive But I don't know how you would define the path for the install.The default install location is:C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 3.1\View ExpressIs there a way to define the target folder or am I stuck with the default?

It would be very useful if a sketch could be placed on a CSYS with the view direction defined by Z and oriented with X to the Right.   Occasionally, I will have a pattern of extrude features that have different clocking. My current practice is to define a pattern of coordinate systems, then define a datum plane on the X-axis of the CSYS so the sketch in the extrude is oriented properly for each instance. This proposal would eliminate the need for the extraneous datum plane.   This could also be useful for creating odd-angle extrude features. A single offset CSYS can be turned and twisted as needed and then a sketch could be created without the need for two additional datum planes.

Hi all,   I have a simple drawing in Creo 2.0 of a cylinder which is half sectioned along it's centreline. If I create a detailed view of an end, then the half section line dis-appears. This never used to be the case - any idea what's happened and how I can get it back?   Image attached to illustrate my point.
