The preference for the Part Structure Overridable Attribute in Windchill is related to the concept of excluding a component from the Bill of Materials (BOM). In SolidWorks, there is an option to exclude a part from the BOM, which allows the component to remain in the CAD structure within Windchill but not appear in the assembly's part structure.If this preference is not enabled, Windchill will not track the excluded component and it will remain part of the BOM. To properly exclude a component from the part structure, you must check out and check in the CAD assembly. Version: Windchill 11.1 Use Case: I have two Windchills that belong to different organizations, but are the copy of each other. I want to create a utility that takes a list of WT_Documents numbers as initial data, downloads the default representations from one Windchill to a local drive, and then creates these representations for the same documents in another Windchill.Description: Some of the downloaded representations may be created manually, so I cannot use the agents and create the representations using visualization server. If anuone knows about API that can help with my problem, I will be very appreciated for sharing.

Hello Experts,   Set Revision API is failing to set the Manufacturing View Part as the same Revision as the Design part.   Use Case: The Design part has A and B versions. On Design Part B Created a New Manufacturing Part then the Manufacturing Part created with Versions A. So we have to set the Manufacturing View Part Revision B to match with Design Part.   Below is the API : VersionControlHelper.service.changeRevision ();    Failing with error: Version already exists, cannot create a duplicate: Part.  seems I'm attempting to change the revision ID to a value that already exists or is currently in use. Unfortunately, we cannot modify the revision ID to a value that is already being utilized.    How can I identify or  what would the best steps to identified the actual issue behind this?    Regards, Yogesh

I just rant a test to see if this was possible and I cannot understand why this is even allowed.    I created a Part and revised it up to B. From there I created a New View version off of B to create B.1 Manufacturing. Actually it was -.1 but I altered it to match. Next I went back to -.1 Design and created New View Version again which created C.1 Manufacturing. You can see the history in the predecessor column. I was aware that repeated invocations of New View Version would advance the Manufacturing version forward.  I am struggling to find a use case where this would be good thing or what the user would want? Perhaps there is something in MPMLink that has this make sense. Thoughts? I am considering blocking it by a filter.  

Noting this for others. I am not sure how to occurred or if there is a WinDU check to spot it. It could have been a bug in older versions that went unnoticed but has since been patch. Some part versions were clearly Design view versions (in the WTPart table) but that same branch shows the right version (VersionID) but the ViewID said it was a Manufacturing view. Clearly a discrepancy. No issues in the display or other actions I could tell. I only noticed it when we did the conversion to Single Level View Versions and got a constraint violation. It was easy enough to correct these and fix the wrong ViewID value. I think I had a total of 200 cases from decades ago. I also tested to see if it was related to using the "reassign view" action. There are cases when users were copying a part from Manufacturing view that it would retain that view when it should have been changed in that save as UI to Design (our process).

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.2.2Windchill server and creo cad worker server both are installed separately in AWS EC2. Firewall in cad worker is on and enabled only the inbound ports "20-21, 80, 443, 137-139, 445, 601". With this I can telnet 601 from Windchill server and 5600 from cad worker without any issues. But still the cad worker is not getting turn on while hitting the Start workers in Windchill. Is there any other port need to be enabled ? PL. confirm

I am trying to upload the primary content to a document using REST API. I found information on knowledge hub to do it using Upload Stage 1, Upload Stage 2, Upload Stage 3 actions. I am facing issue while stage 2 action as it is not available in windchill rest services(screenshot attached). I am wondering if it is possible to customize the Document Management domain to perform POST action to upload document primary content directly through rest api. Curious if anyone has successfully implemented the Creo View Adapter for SolidWorks when outputting HPGL (.plt) files.  I've followed all the instructions and my plots are coming out upside down.  I'm at a complete loss...CAD WorkerWindows 7 64-bitSolidWorks 2015 64-bit w/SP4Creo View Adapters 3.0 M032Followed the instructions on page 432 of the Install Config Guide, worked through CS22286, and tried multiple Microsoft and HP printer drivers, all to no avail.

I know this is a bit of an Onion (many layers and it can make you cry).We have Org and level Roles with ACL's but we also allow Projects to create Local Roles and these act like "Team Members" for Org level ACL's.In a Project (or any context) there is also the ability to ride a gui action with Actions on Roles.Given all that....There are Access Controls on a Folder (that can be propagated to sub-folders) and these look like ACL in that they say "modify" ,  "modify content" (looks like modify content in ACL), ""The right to modify any local file, URL, or external storage for the primary content and attachments of an object with content. as per subject, not sure if its a limitation or not, but it would be super handy to have the creo view 'highlighter' tool in the annotations ribbon to stay ON to mark up multiple things on a drawing at once? alternatively, it would be good to be able to apply a shortcut to some of these tools? Thanks

Hi, I performed a rehost on dev server from production. This is the second time in last 15 days, I have rehosted server. First time, all went good , server was up and running. But the second time, I can see message in the MS-log. (MethodServer ready (in xxxx secs).) and then trying to access it from UI, it is authenticating the user and cannot access, it keeps rotating.  Can someone please help me where to check ?
