Antonius Dirriwachter has posted details about some interesting textures that can be used in Creo. See his post here:http://communities.ptc.com/community/creo/rendering/blog/2013/01/16/some-nice-textures
I don't believe there are any detailed instructions available yet, telling the teams how to submit there projects. Is that still coming? I thought it would have been available at least by today. Thanks.
Hi,I am using PreoE2000i.I made a cut on an extruded hexagon as shown in the figure and would like to make a radial pattern of it. How can I do that?
I've been checking for updates on here lately and aside from Eunice's fantastic blog, all seems to be REALLY quiet!I know the teams I'm working with are running wild with ideas on shooting discs, picking them up and climbing the tower. Is anybody else out there using the field to get a basic feel for the scale of this year's game? How about using 2D sketches to compute trajectories or the field components for developing a climbing robot?
Hello thereI am posting in order to find out if there is any way i can possibly purchase a Pro Engineer wildfire 5.0 Student Liscence in the UK?. What i have found so far is only avaliable to American/Canadian citizens. Thanks
We are new to the real world design challenge program. I am on the technology end and not the teaching end but have several questions.1. We are primarily a MAC house. We saw some notes in other communities about running this in BootCamp and it appears that people were able to do so. Is anyone else doing RWDC in BootCamp?2. We do have a lab of PC's that we are able to use. Having read some of the requirements, I am a bit concerned that our video cards may not be up to snuff. Any basic advice on what problems arise if the basic requirements are just met? I am thinking/hoping maybe the Academic version may not have the high end requirements??3. I noticed browsing the RWDC community that there are only 10 licenses give to the school as part of this program. We are planning on running this as part of a curriculum so our teaches will need to take up some of these licenses?? Or do they provide some extras for teachers?4. Curriculum. Our administrative team made the decision to offer this as a
When designing the tail on their owning a tail for the aircraft, would a team still have to use the MathCad files designed for a traditional tail? Or would the team be required to develop their own tail without the aid of MathCad?
Hi EveryOne! Hope you all are doing well. It is requested that I need information regarding the PTC Academic Program that how can we open an ATC in any College or University. Also the basic courses offered by PTC in the Academy.Does PTC issues any Certificate to the Students who complete the Courses.Kindly Explain it in details.Your's help will be appreciated. Thanks
This Mathcad worksheet provides an interactive workbench to do "what-ifs" for your frisbee's flight path. What if I changed the intial velocity or the attack angle? Mathcad will automatically plot your frisbee's trajectory, letting you view several at one glance.
Hello allIs any other school currently doing this project?http://www.ptc.com/company/community/scalextric4schools/I have 30 eager students that have been waiting since September 2012 to do this project, unfortunately Horby have shown no stock available on the parts since then.PTC has been contacted and chased this up but I've received no update since November. Quite disappointing really as why run a project/challenge if the parts aren't available for 4+ months.Has anybody been successful in ordering the parts and completing the project?ThanksChris
If you've ever seen me attempt to throw (or flail) a Frisbee into a goal during an ultimate Frisbee match, you probably were a little bit worried about a robot doing that same task for the 2013 FIRST Robotics Competition challenge, Ultimate Ascent. Good thing we have engineering on our side!Excuse me, I have yet to introduce myself! I'm Eunice Kokor and I am Team 1671, the Buchanan Bird Brain's current CEO and past CAD lead. So, I'm pretty familiar with PTC, Creo (and its old days as Pro-Engineer!), Windchill (file management for the win), and I've given a good attempt at MathCAD. I actually make my AP Physics formula sheets digitally using MathCAD. It's a lot better than the scribbled mess of equations that everyone else uses. That's one of the perks of being on a robotics team, I guess! Back to the point. Our previous CEO, Evan Giarta, blogged about his experiences throughout the build season. And I thought that was cool and it gave everyone else a interesting perspective of how we'r
OK, so I just got Creo 2.0 installed via Parallels to boot my BootCamp partition and everything works fine as long as I'm in Paralells. However, when I boot Windows natively on the BootCamp partition, I get squawk from the license manager that the license file is running against an invalid host.Is this a known issue or a bug and is there a fix so I can run Creo from Parallels and booting off of the BootCamp partion? I've got a screenshot of the dialog if that is of use.If I have to choose one or the other I would rather choose BootCamp, Paralllels has a bit too much overhead. Thanks,MGL
How to modify, or edit features by double LH clicking on them thus displaying feature and sketch dimensions and enabling them to be modified.Ideal when developing designs and wanting to view changes as they happen. There is no need to access the features in the Model Tree.
i have an ATC in Gurgaon, India. i want to know what are the deliverables from PTC after signing of all documents and depositing the Licence fee for our center. also how long does it take PTC to train the instructor and award him with PTC Instructor certificate. Please reply

Has anyone figured out how to figure out what the "Horizontal Tail Root Leading Edge Waterline (z)" is? int eh tail wing deffinition worksheet? I can't figure it out, google is no help, the RWDC course document is last years, so that no good. I cnt figure out waht the "Horizontal Tail Aerodynamic Center ". Hopefully someone out there knows what these things are, thanks!! and, where are teh webinars for this year posted? Thanks, Daniel Talbert
We have moved the school from Windows XP to Windows 7 recently and now have a problem when trying to extrude. I should add that I support the IT in this school, and am not an expert in ProDesktop. I have tried a couple of options suggested on the forums here, (right-click, Run as Administrator, which the pupils can't do by the way, and disable graphics hardware acceleration) but neither of them work. I appreciate that ProDesktop 8 is an old program, though a well-used one, but i would appreciate any help the community could offer me.
Hello all,I have a problem during instalation ProEngineer Wildfire 4 build m110 under windows7 professional 64bit service pack 1. When I started "setup" then program falls and error message is shown... something as a "program stop working correctly"... Is it possible to repair it? Some hotfix for windows? Uninstal some win updates, or anything?
Hi,my team has incountered an issue. for some reason creo crashes whenever constraints are being made in asm. it doesnt happen to all constraints but it makes it almost impossible to design.anyone know this issue ? any solutions? thanks, itzik
What's the procedure to get e learning account? How many dollar we have to pay?
We were able to download the new Aviation Design Kit but we were unable to open it. When we tried opening it, it says it's empty or source file cannot be read. Is anyone else having this problem?
Has anyone been able to run the student edition of Creo 2.0 on Windows XP. Where are the installation instructions ?Tony
Hi folks,I'm experiencing some "challenges" with the FIRST Windchill 10.1 server lately. I'm getting a bit concerned since kickoff is barely more than a month away.Is anybody else experiencing extremely slow refresh rates, slow downloads and incomplete searches? Thanks,Josh
During this webinar, PTC will be covering the process for which a team would solve the challenge using a baseline design. We will be looking at the different phases; including concept, preliminary and detailed design. The intent is to help educate teams on what they should be doing for the challenge. (view in My Videos)
I got the initial invitation as my team's primary contact about a month ago and logged into Windchill for the first time back then. Now that I've managed to organize all of the students along with an engineer from the JPL, how do I send them invitations to the project?
