A number of folks have asked about how to create a STEP file from Creo Parametric that maintains the assigned colors on the models and assembly components. By default, Creo Parametric uses AP203_IS as the output format for STEP files. If you change this to AP214_IS, the exported STEP files will maintain their assigned colors. To change this, go to File, Options, Configuration Editor, Find... enter "STEP" as the search string and choose Find Now. Scroll through the list of options until you find STEP_EXPORT_FORMAT. Change the value to ap214_is then chose Add/Change and Close. After choosing OK, you can decide whether or not you want to save this setting in your default config.pro file or just save it for the current session. To validate, use the File, Save As, Save a Copy action to create a new STEP file from your current model or assembly. Just chose STEP(*.stp) from the Type menu. Now you can open the new STEP file by changing the Type option to STEP (.stp, .step) in the
Hi Guys, i wanted to define the density of a lattice structure with a simulation analysis but given that i am a student and therefore only use the ptc creo parametric student version, the simulate part is only available in lite mode. Therefore i am not able to conduct full studies which implies not being able to get a full simulation analysis. I would be very greatful if someone could send me a Excel sheet / Csv / text file of how such a study looks like! Thanks and cheers, Peter

Hi!I'm using Creo parametric 7.0 in the last few weeks, and I came across a new problem that I have never experienced in Creo 4.0. Running the application after some time, or some specific moves (hiding and unhiding framework elements one after another) the following message is shown on the screen:And after that the program shuts down itself. I attached the traceback file as well.I saw a topic which is about fatal errors in previous versions of Creo, but the solutions that they mentioned didn't work for me (open_gl_fbo ; win32_gdi ; graphics card driver upgraded). It happened one multiple devices, almost all of us uses it in our team. It's an educational license product. Thanks for your help in advance!
Once I installed the creo program, but apparently I made a mistake with the installation because it shows me the issue that the creo agent is not correctly installed. Please give me a solution for this issue.

I paid for the PTC Mathcad Prime 7 Student Edition & eLearning Bundle and I have a macbook pro. I finished downloading PTC Mathcad Prime 7 Student Edition and when I tried to save file pim_installmgr_mathcad_7.exe it says "You can’t open the application “pim_installmgr_mathcad_7.exe” because Microsoft Windows applications are not supported on macOS." I am not sure what this means but I took it as I can't download it because I have a macbook pro. I hope not, but if this is the case how can I open a refund case?

Hello, my name is Jason Bolstad. I a CAD professional for over 20 years. I'm trying to get some advice on getting proper education with CREO and Windchill. I have used similar software, like CATIA v5/ENOVIA, Siemens NX/Teamcenter applications. But, I have zero experience using PTC applications. I have been trying build my skill set. Can anyone tell me an inexpensive route to take in getting proper learning, to build m resume up? Thanks, Jason
edit: After many hours of trial and error, I finally "kinda" figured it out a bit of a hack that works but doesn't really make me that happy. I'm now pinning the subassembly to the main body instead of fully constraining it, and then setting the limits of rotation to a minimum of 0 and a maximum of .01 degrees. This tells Creo to treat the subassembly as a separate body, and the mechanism on the subassembly becomes a third body which works as intended. I think if a weld connection might work as well, but I don't fully understand how to use them yet and I haven't had a chance to test it. Hi. I'm new to Creo. I have created a subassembly in which a part moves via a pin connection. I then included that subassembly in my main assembly. The part is attached to the ground body. When I attempt to move the pinned connection on the subassembly, I'm told the entire thing is part of the ground body. Is there any way to fix this other t

Our FIRST team wants to model gravity, but mechanism dynamics isn't an option we are permitted on the k-12 license. Can we purchase the University student license even though we are k-12, and, just to be sure, does that license include the mechanism dynamics option? Thanks!
Hello folks, I am able to load the PVS/PVZ files in Creo parametric and I am trying to access its data or the structure of the model components to perform certain operations but I am not able to get any documentation for the PVS/PVZ files. Do anyone have any idea "in what form do the data in PVS/PVZ file format is present ? is it solid or surface or tessellated ?" Is it possible to access the data in the PVS/PVZ file ? If it is then which toolkit API should I use ? having a proper documentation.
