Ok Let me see if I can explain this with any clarity at all.I am working in Arbortext Styler 5.4 M70.I am also working with the S1000D Schema for data modules and specification. The issue is that I am trying to cross-reference various items such as steps, figures, tables etc.I can get the steps and tables to cross reference just fine. The figure should follow the same process. However, when I cross reference a figure, the only output I receive is "Fig " when I should receive "Fig #".It has got to be something that I am doing in styler that is causing an issue. This is the cross reference for figure:<internalref internalrefid="f001"<br"/>internalRefTargetType="irtt01"></internalref>This is the element figure:

Testing
<graphic
infoEntityIdent="ICN-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXX-XX"></graphic>
This is the output for figure:[cid:image002.png@01CD9660.FF550080]This is the cross-reference for Procedu
We have inadvertently added some duplicate DITA objects to our ACM database and would like to remove the duplicates. Of course, the duplicate can't simply be deleted because there are maps that are linked to it.I know that we could go through and create new iterations of each referencing map, but the duplicate would still be linked to the prior iterations. Is there any way to replace the existing links to the duplicate object with a link to the original object so that the duplicate can be deleted? Perhaps using InfoEngine or Java methods or SQL?Thanks for any help,John FrankovichGSI Groupwww,gsiag.com
Fellow Adepters,I just hit the strangest problem. I used Arbortext Document Architect 5.3m040 to edit a new SGML DTD. When I tried to compile the DTD it failed. It produced this error message:Root cause: The Arbortext DTD editor used illegal characters such as a long dash where I entered two hyphens and curly quotes instead of straight quotes in a place where I typed in a comment:I discovered that the illegal characters were entered any time I tried to type in something that has a Microsoft alternate character, but unlike MS, Arbortext doesn't seem to provide a way to turn off this behavior. What is the magic setting to make Arbortext's DTD editor use only legal characters?I know that version 5.3m040 is not the most current (Standard support for v5.3 ended March 1, 2011), but I cannot upgrade to 5.4 or a higher version. I'm hoping that there is a way to change it in this version.Thanks,-Andy \ / Andy Esslinger LM Aero - Tech Order Data______-/\-______ (817) 279-0442 1 Lockheed Blvd, MZ
Hello Adepters,I'm going to use the new TIA application with Arbortext Editor 6.0 M040 for a project and want to provide enumerations of desired attribute values in the Insert Attribute dialog box.For example, I'm going to use many values for the outputclass attribute to get the desired output. To make the authoring as intuative as possible we want to get the insert attribute dialog box loaded with our predifined attribute values for different elements.I try to avoid touching the schema, even if I know it's an option in such cases.Obviously, this could be done by defining keys in a Subjectsheme map.Actually I saw a Youtube video demonstration about how this could be done with the Oxygen XML Editor, and I suppose it also must be possible to do with Arbortext Editor - but HOW? - I have surfed on the PTC Knowledge database, but haven't found an answer. The Youtube video was at: (from about 15 minutes in the video to the end)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPt6wZ2wYig&feature=relmfuSo my
I have an illustartion with lots of hatching and thought it would be great to just have different gaps between the hatching lines.I couldn't find a way to change the gaps, so decided to create my own hatching styles.I copied the hatchings in the DeafultHatchings.iso illustration, then doubled up all the lines to make smaller hatchings of each type, ensuring that I cropped any lines outside the box and gave each hatching an object name.Seemed to work fine - hatching adds to illustration OK.But when I print, I get an error message:Error: undefinedCommand: getStack: /The last character after the word Stack: I can't reproduce - it's more like the accent over a letter than a forward slash. If I change all my new hatchings to standard Isodraw or CGM ones, it prints fine.Anyone know what I could have done wrong, or alternatively if there is any way to specify line gaps in standard hatching.
I am having some issues with Epic and some XSL-FO I work with. I want to use Editor to make changes to the FO, but I continually get errorsthat I do not get with processors like XML Spy or Oxygen. The first problemI have is that when I try to add FO elements, they are not listed in theinsert markup box(es). Next Epic does not seem to like <xsl:include>. Itwill read them when publishing, but not when editing. I have validated this by commenting out all the "includes" in my main fileand replacing them with ENTITIES. The errors I get change, presenting acouple I know are in the referenced files. Lastly, does anyone know what parser Epic uses to validate XSL files? I geterrors with Epic that I do not see with Spy or Oxygen. Right now, though I love Epic as an XML editor, I have less than kind termsto use for its support of XSL.Lynn
Please bear with me. I'm an Arbortext novice, having recently joined a department with long-established procedures that I'm trying to get to grips with.My colleagues have noticed a change in behaviour between Arbortext 5.4 and 6.0 in the printing of apostrophes. In version 5.4, the straight, "typewriter" apostrophe (U+0027) output to both print and PDF as a "curly" apostrophe (U+2019). This suited us, since the print edition looked correct, but the HTML version retained the straight apostrophe, making searches more reliable.(I should add that we publish partly in French, where there are a lot of apostrophes.)Under version 6.0, straight apostrophes print as just that. To get a curly apostrophe we have to use the proper code - although as far as I can tell, whatever means we use to enter it, Arbortext represents it using the ’ entity. It looks fine on screen and in print, but messes up searches. This could be considered "correct" behaviour, of course. It's just that we had been used to tak
Has anyone done this?Using the 5.3 XSL stylesheet originally exported from a 5.3 .style file butthen forked and modified independently from the .style, I am getting an11KB .chm file that opens but has no apparent content. The left-hand TOCpane is empty. The right-hand content pane displays "The page cannot bedisplayed" error. The final two lines of the error page say: Cannot find server or DNS error Internet ExplorerViewing source I see the meta/title is: Cannot find serverI have re-exported a working 6.0 .style file (upgraded from the 5.3 .style)to htmlhelp XSL but that stylesheet fails in the same way as noted above.I am able to make a .chm using a generic 6.0 Styler session and anaxdocbook XML instance against both an axdocbook .style and an .xslexported from the .style so I do have properly wired up HTML Help at thatlevel.(For some reason I can't get File > Publish > For HTML Help to appear. Ihave been issuing "composehtmlhelp" from the command line after settingpeservices=of

I am just wondering when publishing a pdf it seems to lock the program from doing anything else. Can I open a different ditamap or a differenct topic and work on that while it is publishing or is it just wasted time until it is done?Bryon
When openning a cgm file to hotspot and there after reexporting it, when that file is put in the datbase it has a box around the image (raster).Only when I select the image (raster) and select "no pen" will fix this issue. Why does this box added in the first place? This is taking ALOT of time, where I could be doing other work...This is the problem when I dont click "no pen"...
When we save a CGM and reopen it we lose lineweights and leader lines get exploded off of the object that it is referencing. What kind of CGM should we be Exporting to in order to retain lineweights and leader line position...if we want to use CGMs as our native format versus ISO?
Adepters:We use XIncludes extensively. Normally, even if you have write access to an XIncluded object, you can't make changes until you lock the entity. That happens automatically if you click inside the object. However, we have a couple of macros that we use to globally find and then replace a certain attribute (which get invoked by function keys):<macro name="findChangeStatus"><desc>Finds next changeStatus attribute</desc></macro><macro name="deleteChangeStatus"><desc>Finds next changeStatus attribute and deletes</desc></macro>Unfortunately, these don't cause the entity to be locked, so the deleteChangeStatus doesn't work. I found an ACL function, "oid_entity_lock", which would seem to be what I need. But, not being an accomplished ACL programmer, I can't figure out how to

Hi, I am receiving lots of illustration in ISO format which are converted from PRO-E, Solidworks, etecetera softwares. If i check the entities when opening in Isodraw they have lot of nodes(line segments). If i try to remove the nodes by using OPTIMIZE-SMOOTH, or AUTOMATIC option the profile of the entites are changing. If the Line segments are reduced the file size is reducing. My targeted output is webCGM(exported form iso, web cgm, compressed) of lesser file size(~250Kb). Is there any option to achieve the target? Your thoughts. Thanks for your cooperation.
For example, one can't make one of the following savetexts work:<e-i-c gi="dtdelement"...<br"/><savetext textid="myvar1.txt" conrule="!<myelement<br />myattr="!,#CONTENT(dtdattr),!">!,#CONTENT,!</myelement>!" placemnt="before"><savetext textid="myvar2.txt" conrule="\<myelement<br />myattr="\,#CONTENT(dtdattr),\">\,#CONTENT,\</myelement>\" placemnt="before">dtdattr is CDATA and the possible values are endless ...Later I want to <usetext conrule="myvarX.txt"<br"/>Or am I wrong and there is a magic conrule recipe I'm missing that willachieve this?-- Paul Nagai
What is thexpath equivalent of FOSI #CONTENT? I need to save an element's #PCDATA and any tags. Not PIs, although FOSI probably would ignore them. The SGML doc has the following. Note that and <brk> are singletons.
Lorem ipsum<brk>dolor sit amet
In the FOSI, precedingsibling is trying to save the
element's #CONTENT. The FOSI had the following, which worked until <brk> was added to the title:<e-i-c gi="a">>...><att>><fillval attname="following-sibling::title[1]/text()" attloc="#XPATH"fillcat="savetext" fillchar="conrule"/">><charsubset>><savetext textid="title.txt">>...>>When <brk> is added in the title, #PCDATA is captured up to but not including the <brk> tag. Here is what I've tried, and the results:following-sibling::title[1]/text() captures the content up to but not including the <brk> tag.following-sibling::title[1]/node() ditto.following-sibling::title[1
I have a table with cells that have a lot of data in it. When the doc is published/previewed some of the cells data runs into the footer, and got lost when printed or composed to pdf. Is there a work around to fix this problem? I have read the Help file about the problems of deep content splitting. I have tried everything, and still could not get the data to publish correctly on a page. I am hoping that the Arbotext developers resolve this issue in future release as this problem was inherited since day 1. Any suggestions or recommendation to resolve the issue that I have is greatly appreciated. Tuyen -
Hi all, how do i know where arbortext editor is going to hypenate my line? im creating a table, with 'long' text (already the absolute minimal letters)and this text is just chopped off in ran-dom fash-ion, mak-ing rea-ding an-noying.Entering blank spaces to compensate for breaking, does not help much, as the effect is only seen after a preview is published.(our company does not make use of AT styler.)any help MUCH appreciated, Thank you, have a great weekend!Ed
In the Editor manual ist says you can access scripts out of the Styler using Xpath with one of the following expressions:- _js:eval()- _acl_eval()It also supports an example for starting a Jscript ( _js:eval("new Date().getFullYear()")), which works out just fine.My problem now is, that I just can´t figure out how to call a function, which needs to be deliverd a parameter.Anyone? To substantiate my problem:I don´t know how to deliver a parameter that is taken out of the document, which ist to be styled. For example I want to deliver an attribute out of the root element to the function and return a different string depending on the actual attribute.Nachricht geändert durch Daniel Thursfield
I have newly installed Arbortext Architect 5.4 on my Windows 7 PC. When I try to compile a DTD, I get the follow error:Dtgen.exe Parser Error:While parsing file P:\Production_Delivery_clone\5096F-CV6D0P0\5096F-CV6aP0.dtd:Cannot find file called markitx. Hello everyone,We have a situation where a "00" is outputting in the edit view in indices. First, this wasn't the case in 5.3, but we're seeing it in 6.0. If anyone has a clue on that, I would appreciate it.If not, we'd like to suppress this gentext in when in the indices. The gentext is coming from an ACL function and not from the FOSI stylesheet. However, when globally setting gentext=off it suppresses, but so does all the gentext in the doc.Is there a way to suppress gentext in the edit window based on context or current tag? I've tried several things in ACL, but no go thus far. Looking for other ideas. Thanks,Jeff
Good day all,I have attached the Consolidated Isodraw shortcut keys. Kindly once review them and apply.I think it will be very useful.Any changes kindly update it in the forum itself. Thanks.
