I recently discovered an issue with exporting 32 Bit color images of lineart in IsoDraw 7.2 where lines appear jagged and not anti-aliased (Please view the full size images to see the issue): However, if I export this same image as a 8 Bit grayscale image, the lines appear correctly anti-aliased: Is this a bug in IsoDraw's export engine? This occurs with both PNG and JPEG files. Logically, the full 32 bit range of colors should have no issue properly containing the image information, but it appears IsoDraw is not anti-aliasing the lines on those exports.
Hi folks, Has any one undergone the exercise of upgrading your Arbortext editor and APE base from 6.1 version to 7.1 recently? I would like to get a few answers on below questions What were the pitfalls you went through and were you able to get a solutions for all and transitioned completely? And was your 6.1 environment customized? If YES how did the customizations fair through during the upgrade and do you have any metrics on how much of your existing customization was re-usable without warranting further modifications or change to the code? We are considering an upgrade with our heavily customized environment and would like to have few inputs before we take the dive-in really. Thanks in advance! BR Amar Karthi ARASAN
Can I produce a chm file from Styler? How do I do this?
Looking at my document 'untagged', I see several 'fields' that I can not explain. What are they and where do they come from? Some examples are: <?Pub Dtl?> <?Pub Caret 0?> <?additional_field x=y?> <?rpstl x=y?>
How to set default value of translate attribute as yes in arbortext 6.1 so, whenever i insert 'p' tag or any other tag translate attribute is set to yes automatically. Which xsd file or any other file i have to modify to achieve the same please explain in detail on how to do it
We are using arbortext 6.1, we are using custom application containing different schemas and it is referenced from a server....application works fine in arbortext 6.1 but the same same application is not working properly in arbortext 7.0 getting unknown tags and attribute errors saying its not defined in xsd file, which is really strange. structure of the application is each schema folder is different under doctypes for ex - doctypes->diagonostic, doctypes->description etc so each schema has its own xsd files, schema template and catalog file, dcf file etc. need help on this asap! please let me know the root cause of this issue Awaiting your reply
I'm tired of having a plain white background while tagging SGML in Arbortext Editor. I want to try something darker to reduce some eye strain. I can easily change the color of my tags, but I'm struggling with how to change the default white background to something else. Is it even possible?I've tried window_set(canvasbackground blah blah blah) , but either I'm not sure how to use that command or that command does not work in the way I'm thinking it should work. Thanks
Hello,I work at a manufacturing company and we're interested in user arbortext to manage our documents and publish them to a website for our customers. Another business unit is currently in the process of implementing the software but those of us on the website side are trying to get a jump planning.I know arbortext is capable of HTML output but can someone explain to me how that content is stored and how it is retrieved? Our documents would have chapters, sections, etc. Each piece of content will also be tagged to a particular model.Thank you!
We require an API that allows us to select over tag borders without turning balanced selections off. We have to do that be cause we want to be able to select text in tags partially. Here is an example: <x>a <b>c d</b>e</x> We like to be able to select "a" and "c", or "d" and "e" without automatically selecting "c" and "d" together. Currently our code looks like this: set balancedselections=offscroll_to_oid(oid);goto_oid(oid, offset);CharRightExtend; repeat selLen; Maybe it's feasible to introduce some kind of function that allows to extend right without balancing the tag selection. scroll_to_oid(oid);goto_oid(oid, offset);CharRightExtendUnBalanced; repeat selLen; Is this something that you could consider for an upcoming release?

Hi, I am using Arbortext CMS to store our DITA topics. I wanted to know how those XML files store in the CMS database. The reason I am asking this is for XML parse and reporting. For example, a DITA topic may look like this: <topic id="topic" xml:lang="en"><title>Authoring DITA Topics</title><body><p>When you first open a DITA topic, the default <phid="ArbortextEditor-0CDFC876">Arbortext Editor</ph> configurationfor editing DITA topics appears. </p></body></topic> What I want to do is a XML search and the result would be the content in an element with an specific attribute. In this case, I want to get the content "Arbortext Editor" when I do a search for a tag <ph> with "id=ArbortextEditor-0CDFC876". Thanks, Kangxw

Hello everyone, I have a manual made in DocBook 4.0 which consists in a root file with 10 files references (the chapters) each of which has 10 references (the sections). Total = 100 xml files. The files have the characters saved as numeric references, and I need them as characters, which I can do by opening file by file and saving them with the right setting ("save as characters") in preferences, but... Is there a way to save ALL 100 files in one go, without having to open them one by one? Thanks in advance! GABRIEL
Hi, Is anyone here in the community using Arbortext editor 6.1 M070 with Windows 10? Though it is not supported by PTC we had been running Arbortext in Windows 10 which was working fine without issues till the last Microsoft Windows 10 update. Since then, we face crashing issue without warning whenever we attempt to insert any element that requires opening an additional window without any error log. The Windows event viewer points to ucrtbase.dll which is related the Visual C++ component but we couldn't identify the exact cause of the issue. If we just uninstall the latest Visual C++ that got installed with this OS update, the issue still exists and the event viewer keeps pointing to ntdll.dll which is again a Windows core kernel. Since the OS and version is not supported, we couldn't get much of TS help. If any one has run into such issues, please let me know if there is any fix. Thanks in advance!! Regards, Amar Karthi Arasan

Hi..i was wondering whether i can copy/paste text by default into its own para/p tag. Are there any settings for this ? Currently, when i paste text there is no tag (unless pasted in an existing p tag) and the para/p tag has to be added individually. Thanks !

Hi, I have a lot of files that I have exported from the AAD CSDB and I want to convert them in bulk from UTF-16 to UTF-8. I am familiar with the following ACL: save_as -encoding utf-8 myfilename.xml This works but is too laborious to repeat for every file. So, I have attempted to create a Windows Command Line batch file to open Arbortext Editor and execute the command on the files in a local directory using the -c switch. At the moment I get nothing out of it. The script does not open a dialog and ask to save the file. I would prefer to merely replace the current file. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how the script might be improved in order to process multiple files? :REM convert all files in directory from UTF-16 to UTF-8 ECHO ********************* ECHO CONVERT UTF16 TO UTF8 ECHO ********************* for %%f in (*.xml) do ( "C:\Program Files (x86)\PTC\Arbortext Editor\bin\x86\editor.exe" -c "save_as -encoding utf-8" %%f ) ECHO ********************* ECHO D O N E ECHO ************
Hello! Most recently, I used Isodraw 7.3 in the M040 build 6. An svgz export has worked flawlessly in this version. Now my system was changed to Windows 10 and with this came an Isodraw update to M080 build 6. Since this svgz export does not work correctly anymore. Hotspots created in Isodraw are displayed twice in the svgz, which means that the online spare parts catalog can no longer display the correct item numbers! I attached screenshots to this problem in a Word document. About help and solution suggestions, I would be very grateful!: smileyvery-happy: Best regards Mirko
