How can I get ACL or C# to give me the full path and filename to the DTD for the current file? In C#, I'm able to get the filename only (no path) by using a node's OwnerDocument.Doctype.SystemId property. In ACL, I'm trying to use the dtd_decl_path() function, but it just won't give me any results when I supply it with the Public Id and catalog path. I've also tried the catalog_resolve() method, which is similar, but with no success. Obviously this data is available to Arbortext; I just can't figure out how to get to it. It seems as though I shouldn't have to supply a Public Id, or catalog path, or anything since Arbortext has already resolved all of this and is quite aware of the DTD and its location. This information show up on Help -> Session -> Document tab. How can I get ACL to give me this info?

We have following customer requirement under Image/Document library. How can we address this. "The user shall be able to view images loaded in system which may have invalid ICC Color Profile associated with it. Because of invalid ICC profile, the particular image doesn't appear in Spec Reports (PDF) when generated"
Please see attached capture that what style I want. Which widgets can help with this? I don't have any sense of this. Thanks a lot!

I am attempting to publish an xml document and all its dependencies, and am using the Tools -> Save Application function. However, I am getting an issue where all of the referenced graphics are saved under /portable_doc/portable_doc_files/ with completely different names. Then, in the log file it states that the "Graphic entity can not be resolved." Is there any way to prevent these references from being lost or these files from being renamed?

Hi, I am attempting to create new elements in my stylesheet, I created them by copying another element that has the same base properties I need, giving it a new unique name, and then saving it. After creating them, they do not appear in my style sheet list, I need to unselect the 'Only elements in document' and 'Only elements in document type' options from the View menu in the Styler. The new elements I have created I put into my template xml file, but when I open the template, the tags for the new elements are red with a strike through, I can type any text into them, and parser messages appear for each tag with the following: Error: unknown element in start tag. There is no such element as 'newelement' How can I incorporate these new elements I have created into my stylesheet so they work with my documents? Thanks. Sean.
Greetings. I am currently researching the various PTC tools (ArborText Editor, Publishing Engine) for API information. What I am looking for is a way to publish a document in the various supported format. In essence, mimick the GUI behaviour but from a script. Based on searching the threads and some of the reference documentation, I have a couple of questions. - Is the ACL reference shared amongst the tools (PE and Editor)? - Is it possible to run a script (Java, Perl etc.) OUTSIDE of ArborText Editor (the Programmer's Guide seems to indicate that this is not possible) and publish a document? Or should one access the PE in Windchill to publish a document?
We have switched from SMA to TIA. When content was conref'd in SMA the text and images used to show. In TIA only the words show up no images. Is this a stylesheet issue or should it work out of the box. Bryon
Hello, at our company some share a web licence. Now one of the computers got a fixed licence. When it loggs in it still uses the web licence. Only when the web licence is already in use, it uses the fixed licence. We tried to change the settings in menu start up, but still same problem. Is there another setting/menu to be changed?
We are working on a print publication that is entirely tables. There are single page tables and there are 2-page table spreads. We can create a pdf of just the single page tables in the bookmap. However, PE crashes when we try to create a pdf of the bookmap when the 2-page table spreads are inserted. Both AE and AE Styler. Note: We can create a pdf of individual 2 page table spreads. Just not when combined in a book. I should mention that we are using outputclass="hspan" for the 2-page tables. Also, this worked well in the previous version AE (6.1) but no longer works in AE 7.0. Has anyone come across this issue and if so, how was it resolved?
Hi, I'm working on a document that uses the 40051 DTD. In Arbortext, the header text for tables looks fine but when I create a PDF (File > Publish > PDF File), the table header text doesn't appear. I tried changing the valign attribute for the header row from bottom to top and middle, but that didn't make a difference. Also, I pasted the table code in a DITA concept topic and it published to PDF with no problem. Thanks, Bob
Hi, I'm working with subfigures in Arbortext 7.1 that are part of two-sheet sets. In PDFs, the first figure prints in portrait orientation, as expected, but the second figure prints in landscape orientation, which I don't want. These graphics have a landscape shape but I want to use portrait orientation. Also, in the nested graphic tag within subfig, I use scalefit-yes for all the graphics in these two-sheet sets. Thanks, Bob
Hi All, I created a test XML, which contains both Chinese content and English content, in Arbortext Editor. When I published the XML file to HTML, both languages were displayed properly. When I published the XML file to PDF, only English was displayed. The Chinese content was diaplayed as empty boxes. You could refer to the attached screen captures. My computer is running with Win 10 OS, language and location are set to China. Could someone help me? Thanks.
Good morning Arbortexters,After upgrading to Arbortext Editor 7, I'm getting the following message when adding borders to a table, and the borders are not applied correctly. We use a custom Fosi, so I'm not sure why there's a reference to the dflt.fos in this error. We've made no recent Fosi or DTD changes, and using that same DTD and Fosi, I can add table borders with Arbortext 5. Does anyone know how I can resolve this error? Thanks!
Hi, I'm working on a document that uses the 40051 DTD. It has many figure and table links. The generated text for the table links works, but it doesn't work for the figure links. For example, xref tableid points to table id and creates Table 1, Table 2, and so on. But xref figid points to figure id and always creates Figure 0. The linking behavior works fine for both kinds of links but the generated text differs. Thanks, Bob
Hi, I am looking to create a burstspec configuration file for HTML files. We have successfully created a separate burst spec related to a DTD, but that DTD has a 'full' DOCTYPE element, while HTML does not. For example, the DTD we got a burst working for was similar to the DITA doctype: <!DOCTYPE topic PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DITA Topic//EN" "topic.dtd"> However, HTML just has the following for it's DOCTYPE: <!DOCTYPE html> Since the HTML doctype does not have a dtd specified, I have yet to find how to correctly name or place the .bcf file to burst HTML documents automatically. Thank you in advance, Peter
Hi, We have been trying to highlight contents around indexterm tag in DITA document. We are having trouble navigating the indexterm tag. The text doesn't highlight properly when we execute ACL function goto_oid with oid of <p> tag and start offset of flowers word. Instead it highlights the text [index: which appears in the indexterm tag before the flowers word (please see attached image). Sample from our tag: <p>Some of the flowers blooming in autumn<indexterm>flowers<indexterm>, autumn</indexterm></indexterm> are: Acashia, Allium, Alstromeria</p> The ACL's we used: execute("StartOfLine;") eval scroll_to_oid(oid_of_p_tag) eval goto_oid(oid_of_p_tag, start_offset) execute("CharRightExtend;") What values should be replaced for start_offset parameter in the above code to highlight word flowers in indexterm tag and word Acashia next to the indexterm tag?
In Arbortext 7 the profiling has changed. You can't simply Alias the existing Audience attribute for example. Tech Support told me I need to create attributes and define them in the schema. I am wondering if anyone had to do similar or if you can see something I am missing below. I have done the following in my "techinfoMod.xsd" file I have a redefine: <xs:redefine schemaLocation="urn:oasis:names:tc:dita:xsd:commonElementMod.xsd:1.3"> <!-- Redefine fiter-atts to add ProductLineFolder values and Additional Profile attributes --> <xs:attributeGroup name="filter-atts"> <xs:attributeGroup ref="filter-atts"/> <xs:attributeGroup ref="ProductLineFolder-d-attribute"/> <xs:attributeGroup ref="toolcondition-d-attribute"/> <xs:attributeGroup ref="model-d-attribute"/>
Hi, I'm trying to publish a PDF from a DITA map. When I click File > Publish > PDF File, the output for each file just shows the path to the *.pdf.ditaLinks path for each file. No content shows, except for the title that I use for the map.. I don't have any trouble publishing PDFs for individual files, just DITA maps. Some background: the individual files were just converted to Arbortext from Word files, and we are starting the cleanup to standardize them. Thanks, Bob
