Hi,I'm trying to create sBOM from eBOM using SPSE(Service Product Sturcture Explorer) in SIM for Windchill 11.0 F000.I want to configure sBOM as shown in the bottom figure.1. Create one service part from assy' and all child parts3. Create one service part from several child Parts4. Create one service assy' and add service part from assy' and child partsMaybe I don't understand SPSE concept well.I can't doing by reference document only.Is it possible using SPSE ?If it is possible please let me know how.Thanks,Kim, Joon O

Composing using 6.0 work just fine on laptop. Composing using PE 7.0 the PDF looks great but the emergency borders defined in the XSL-FO are missing.Does anyone have any tips on defining a graphic in XSL-FOWhy would it work in stand-alone and  not on PE.  the custom folders for stand-alone and PE are exactly the same.??

This is probably a simple question for someone with ACL experience. I am not one of those people. I am looking to create an ACL script that would allow for an author to add "id" attributes to specific tags. As an example the elements needing IDs are <proceduralStep>. These ids would have a specific format, "stp-xxxx", where the xxxx are numbers. They do not need to be sequential.I can do this outside the editor using XSL, but I would like to make it a function in Arbortext and make it part of the authoring process. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I know that this works as a one-by-one command:oid_modify_attr(oid_caret(),id,"stp-0001")How do I loop over all <proceduralStep> elements and apply a new unique number? Additionally i'd like to make a menu for this command to be called from, but at the moment i'd just like to be able to make the looping work.Thank you in advance for any assistance.Tom Furst

Here's the dilemma:We have a FOSI and a DTD.  The cover page is set with a region using a putgraph.  The putgraph inserts the outline for the content (which is actually done for every page in the entire publication).The problem is that it works for some of us and not for others - the latter gets the image, scaled about 5 times larger than it really is.  This only happens on the cover page though.  All of the outline graphics, on every other page, work fine.I have compared every setting on my system (with correct output) and a system that doesn't get the correct output.  Everything appears to be the same.  With the exception of the version: most of our team has AE 7.0, F000.  The FOSI and DTD works great, no problems.  We have another team that has AE 6.1.  This is the team that gets the incorrect output on the cover.I'm not sure if the version is the issue, however, because it's only the cover page that is not setting up properly.  Any

Hi,I'm looking at the early stages of a project to migrate our legacy Eagle environments to a common platform and where practical database and product version ahead of a significant version uplift to current products and need to find the answer to questions that have arisen. Any sensible help appreciated. Can we use Eagle v8.0.0 to access data held in an Eagle v8.1.0 database ?What are the likely issues or limitations we will encounter ?Is it still possible to obtain the installers and DB migration scripts for these old versions if required ? (and if so where)I cannot find any mention of these old versions (or Eagle) on the main PTC site and it has been some time since I've had direct involvement with them, so I'm probably way out of date (like the products !).Thanks.

Do you have any recommendations on how to perform format modifications (controlling hyphenation, preventing column breaks, preventing page breaks) during 'print' publishing? Apparently this is not supported in 6.1 M080. It has been fixed for 7.0. However this does not help us now. Are there any workarounds for the formatting I mention above?FYI, we are using Styler with APP.

Can I author/modify S1000D data module information using just Arbortext 7.0 Editor or Arbortext 7.0 Editor w/styler?  Do I actually need every component of the Arbortext CSDB tool kit to do this?  I don't want to buy another full software suite to accomplish a such a focused task.  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

What setting do you need to modify to get output close to adobe distiller. When using the standard.appcf the file size is 300 mb for the manual I am publishing. I would like to replicate the standard and press quality settings used in adobe distiller. I have looked in the help, but I am not sure of all the settings that would need to be adjusted.Thanks Bryon

In a document I save the title of a svcproc tag every time it appears into a string and append it to the previous one. At the bottom of the page I want to set this combined value of the string in the footer. then I want to clear it so that on the next page I can begin saving only those title that appear on that page to set at the bottom of the page. I can save the variable using append=1, my problem is finding a way to clear it after pagination so I can start saving again.thanks for your help

Hi folks--We have a customer who would like the black in their PDF output to be pure black (in CMYK terms, all K, i.e. 0,0,0,100%). By default, black is rendered as composite black (a combination of all CMYK colors).I have found how to change it for particular contexts via APP source edits, but I'm hoping someone can point me to a more direct way to configure APP to always map "black" to CMYK: 0,0,0,100). Is there a way to redefine the color "black" and/or the default color in a single place in the stylesheet, either directly in Styler or via APP source edits? Ideally this would also apply to things like table borders and header/footer rule elements.Thanks.--Clay

I've used the old version of Arbortext APP (3b2) that works on MS-DOS, and it was possible to change the direction of writing in the yellow edit bar from (left to right) to (right to left) in order to write in the Arabic language and to use Hindi digits instead of Arabic digits.Is it possible to change the direction of the text in the yellow edit bar in ArborText 11.1 2016 just like the old versions?

The default charset in Arbortext APP is ASCII Latin 1 1250 and I want to change it to ASCII Arabic 1256? How can I achieve it?

I'm looking  at deploying Advanced Print Publisher (both client and server) in a VMWare environment. I see in an Arbortext PE installation guide some statements to  the effect  that  PTC doesn't explicitly support running PE in virtualized  environment but I can't find any discussion of whether APP works ok in  VMWare. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any gotchas? thanks for any suggestions/experience you can share!

But whats happening is 40°C is in previous line and (104° F)  appears in next line.Example :• The temperature for the equipment in a closed or multi audio rack assembly should not exceed 40°C (104°F).How to fix this , so that meaning full word like degree stays together .Regards,Sriram Rammohan

Just started a new job, and due to a PC upgrade (and subsequent hard-drive wipe) I had to re-install Arbortext Editor 6.0. Because the old license files were deleted in the upgrade, I requested and received two license packs (text files) from PTC. Are there any instructions on what I do now? (I've used Arbortext in the past, but have always had admins to handle licensing issues.) Thanks in advance!
