We are transitioning to Java 7 but are sticking with Arbortext 5.4 for a while which uses Java 6 internally. I can get our Java 7 compiled classes to work with Arbortext OK if I stick the following lineset javavmpath="C:\jdk1.7.0_55\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll"as the first line in my acl scripts. I would like to not be stuck with a specific Java version and would like to use the user's JAVA_HOME environment variable as the first half of that line but I cannot get Arbortext to accept any variable in the set javavmpath line whatsoever. The only way it works is by sticking the full and complete path in that line. Does anyone know of a way to use variables in the pathname with this statement or is it impossible?

Hi all.We wrote plugin for Arbortext 6.1. The issue 1: We want to add our custom menu items to View (that is in menubar) our plugin looks for .View menu item like that: _window.MenuBar.Find(".View")when we work for example under French locale we cannot find this menu. We want to add our menu independably on what locale currently is used. Is it possible ? The issue 2: We don't want to add our menu to windows like "Parser Messages".Right now we just compare text of window with this string: ((IComponent) window).Text != "Parser Messages";so if window title equals to "Parser Messages" we do nothingbut for other locales it won't work due to different textHow can we solve it?

Hi, I need to export a CGM in IsoDraw 7.1, but when I export and open the CGM, all the layers are visible. Is there anyway to export a CGM and still have some of the layers visibility still off??

I'm facing another issue with having text line-up properly within list items. I've included a copy of what I'm seeing below:As you can see, my Warnings, Notes, and List 1 Items (numbered items in parentheses) line-up properly. However, I have not been able to get my (a), (b), and (c) items to do the same. I have included an example of my FOSI as well (I've attached it as a Word document). If you have any solutions please let me know.

I do a lot of macros that speed up drawing things. Several of them require the illustrator to select points on screen one after the other for the macro to use.A typical example is where a macro draws an item at a selected point on the screen, then loops for the next point to draw to and so on until the user exits.It usually works OK for the first 2 or 3 times, but after this, every time the user clicks a point on screen, it insists on refreshing the screen. This is annoying, but even more annoying is when the screen goes white because it hasn't refreshed properly - the illustrator cannot then see the next point he/she wants to pick and has to exit the macro. This happens nearly every time these macros are run.There is nothing in any of our macros that triggers a screen refresh, and it does it in our 7.00 and in 7.2. It's a bug that we wish was fixed. Does anyone (PTC????) have a workaround? Is there a command to switch off screen refresh?

My table tab in my tool bar is clear. My tables in my document are shown in attribute format. I need to view in table format to do mass editing of tables with hundreds of rows. Do anyone know of a solution.Daryl Taylor

I've included an example of what our text looks like below:Is there any way to make the text all line-up under the "you" at the beginning? It should look like the text below: WARNING: YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN HOLD THE RADOME BEFORE YOU REMOVE/ INSTALL IT. THE RADOME IS HEAVY. IF IT FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT. I've also included images of the FOSI below:

Has anyone come across the odd behaviour outlined below? The user is editing in Arbortext Editor 6.0 and also connected to Windchill 10.1. The user is trying to create a new XML file by copying and pasting content. When the user tries to insert a "bold" emphasis tag around content, the result is the content becomes underlined and not bold. The tag itself is an underlined tag. The user can go in and manually change the tag, however, we would like to know what is causing this odd behaviour. This never happened in the previous versions of Arbortext Editor.Is there a fix for this?

We are using AE 6.0 with Windchill. When we open an xml document in AE 6.0 we notice that the cursor will randomly jump from one location in the document to another. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, can provide the cause and possible a fix?It is very annoying when cutting and pasting from other docs into AE 6.0. The users must be careful not to paste content where it does not belong.Note: Could this have anything to do with the automatic "save" in AE 6.0.?

Hi all,I'm trying to record a macro in Arbortext Editor. I need the following:1) Insert markup pop up window;2) Choose query from bottom drop down list (I've modified my dcf file to allow datamerge);3) Select the only query name I got;4) Click on 'Insert' (or double click on name selected on query name at point 3).When I start macro recording, the only instance I get in my macro file is '#InsertMarkup' and no more. Also, trying to run it, it doesn't show the insert markup window, although permitted in current position.I wonder if it is possible or not.Any help?Thanks,Max

I am having an issue with Arbortext not excepting our .cgm files. the system is running Arbortext 6.0 M090. when the cgm is loaded I get a graphic symbol with an X over it. when I run a print preview there is an error that reads "the file does not contain a graphic format". Very odd the other computer with the exact same configuration works fine. Any help with this would be great.

We are making documentation for our products using Arbortext for Aerospace & Defence. If I Create a Build List in Arbortext Publisher I get a browser window telling me what data modules have been changed w.r.t. the previous published issue.Data modules in my delivered publication may change because they are changed for deliveries (other publications) to other customers. If my publications are in the DELIVERED state, there is no easy way to see if I have to supply my customer with updated publications. If I want to use the Create Build List to see if any data module has been changed, I have to raise the issue of the publication first. If I do so, the result can be that there is no need to send an update, leaving the publication in the PENDING state. I do not like that.There should be an option in the Publisher to see that data modules in a publication have been changed without the necessity to raise the issue of the publication or do I oversee any other possibility to track changed

Just wondering is anyone has a workaround for 5.4.If I force a page break in a table in Editor, by Table Properties, Row, and under Composed Output Option choose Force, sometimes the title float appears on the following pages of the table (desired behavior) and sometimes it doesn't. Normal float behavior resumes with following table (assuming no forced page breaks).PTC said this doesn't occur in 6.0, they didn't have a workaround, and that 5.4 is being "sunsetted" in October.

Hello everybody,I use Epic 5.3 M010 to create and manage Data Modules in accordance with S1000D.Our company recently passed from Windows XP to Windows 7 so we need to reinstall the program, but i'm having some annoying issues.The program seems to open fine the documents, you can modify various fields without problems and see all the tags, but when you try to modify some particular attributes with the CTRL+D command (i.e. illustrations and issue date/number) the program crash and you need to restart it forcedly. I've tried to change the .dtd and schemes associated to the documents but the problem is still here. This issue cause the impossibility to modify correctly the documents.I've read that Epic 5.3 is not officially certified for Windows 7, but that some users can use it without problems, so i wonder if it's a problem of wrong settings.Anybody have some clues to solve this issue?Thanks

Can anyone help with this problem?I have recently upgraded my PC and changed from Arbortext 6.0 to Arbortext 6.0 (64 Bit). Since the upgrade I have not been able to open any of my sgml files, I have setup the file locations as the previous PC but I get the following error message.If a browse for the DTD I can find it in the location I have setup under File Locations but it then asks me to recompile the DTD (this did not happen with the 32-bit version), selecting OK does nothing and dialogue box remains open.Has anyone any idea what is wrong, I guess it is a setup problem.Thanks

Hi everybody!I need to use the gentext of the table element to construct its header. In the table, there's an id in each, and the header change depending of the id value. So, I created a condition to test the id.When I preview the document with "Editor Preview", it works well, but when I use the "PDF Preview", the gentext doesn't work, I mean, the text I write in gentext is ignored.It happens only when I have a conditions, and only in the table element.
