I am currently working with HoloLens and Illustrate to create an AR experience. I'd like to trigger an event, such as an email or on-screen warning when the user enters a designated zone. This zone will most likely be a 3D model (lets say a cube) that the user could walk into. I'd like to know if this is actually possible within the studio environment and second, if you can, provide a bit of a guideline on how I would approach such a task. thanks
Hololens Version: 10.0.17134.11 Vuforia Studio Version: 8.23.3224 Creo Illustrate 5.0 I am trying to get an Illustrate sequence to play on the hololens but I am not having any success. It is just 1 sequence (I have tried creating the sequence in Illustrate 5.0 and 4.0), that I have mapped to an upward swipe gesture in Vuforia/Thinworx Studio. When previewing the experience, everything works perfectly but when viewed on the Hololens, nothing happens. I know the gesture is working as I have mapped it to another function and that works fine. Has anyone got any thoughts on what I could try to resolve this? Thanks.
Hi , I have a bar chart and i have to display some data on it. I don't know the format of data. i want to get the data from any function(let's say getData()). when a button is clicked it should call the function, get the data and display it on bar chart. Thanks and Regards,Qadir
Hi Folks, under Configuraton > Experiences you can set the thingmark assosciation to "tingmarks" (standard) or to "thing template". Does anybody know what this is good for? How can you use this? I know, that it has something to do with thing worx but I couldn't find any detailed info. Greetings whity
Hi, I'm using 3D models and model items as UI buttons. to fake a highlight onClick, i want to change and reset the color of the model-item. I know how to set the color, but I seem unable to reset the color field with "null", so that the original texture is visible again. basically no color at all. I tried multiple things for $scope.app.view.Home.wdg[widget].color = 'rgba(x,x,x,x)'; saving the initial value of color and resetting it doesnt work, setting it to null, or any other rgba color didnt seem to do the trick. I would really appreciate a little hint, since this is most likely just a small issue 🙂
Hi, I am unable to change the image width at runtime. I tried binding it to a paramter and changing it directly via script. Although the values change, the image itself doesn't update it's width in the preview window. If the values get changed before the Preview manages to load the widgets, the size is changed.
Hi all, Just a quick query: has anyone used the 2D Eyewear project functionality in Studio, in particular for the Realwear HTM-1, and if so, what is your feedback regarding its usability? Brian
Hi! I have noticed that Spatial Target experiences does not work on all Android devices (v5+). Is there any list describing which devices are supported? Or, if not, what should I consider choosing a device for ST experiences? Thanks in advance!
Hi all, Just a quick heads up if you are having issues trying to use Vuforia View with MS HoloLens and the app keeps going back into sleep mode: It could be just that the HL is updating in the background with a Windows 10 update which we found out the hard way just prior to a big demo. There are no warning or permissions sought by the device and nothing on screen warns you of the fact that an upgrade is actually taking place which is extremely frustrating as it WILL always happen at the worst possible time. Not just Vuforia View affected, but all other installed apps by appearing to just not work. So if you are having difficult in getting the View to operate as normal, check in the Settings on the HL to see if an update is sneakily happening in the background! That's it! Don't get caught out like we did!!!! Brian
Hi folks-- I have an experience where I start with a model that is offset from its import location. I then added a couple of modelItems to be able to rotate them using JS. When I select the modelItems in the Studio editor, they appear in the correct location relative to the overall model. But when I view the preview, the modelItems appear where they would be if the original model had not been offset. They move along with the main model, but are not where they are supposed to be.Is there a trick to getting modelItems to be positioned correctly w.r.t. the parent model when the parent model moves?

Customer is looking for a way to WOW their clients, was looking for the old Apple UI the allowed a large spinning circle of Models if possible. If no template available the thought was to build out a large asm in Creo Parametric, Load into Creo Illustrate, then load into Vuforia Studio. Then all the products equally spaced in a large circle, rotating with use a slider or other widget to spin to different product solutions inside the experience.
Hello everyone, in the properties of the 3D-Container you can adjust the near clipping plane. Changing the value has no impact on the preview no impact on the Application on the Tablet (iPad Gen.6). I want to use it in order to cut through my 3D-Models. I have also checked in the console by using “console.log($scope.app);” if the camera has the clipping plane value assigned (yes it does). I use Vuforia Studio 8.3.3 Does anybody know how to solve this issue?
Hello, I am using a spatial target for the experience. Now, When I zoom the model, only the model zooms but the 3D images placed around the same are not zooming. Let me know if there is anything can be done to address this. Thanks, Avinash
Hi, Does anyone know if there is going to be a fix for this compatibility issue or is the "fix" still to use Creo Illustrate 3.0? This is a much-used basic function and has been an issue since last year... Regards, Brian
I have configured Thingworx opc ua client. Now I want to get that opc ua data to thingworx studio so that I can show it in Augmented Reality. As my thingworx studio composer and thingworx server is running in different port, I cannot understand how to get the Thing I created for opc ua. Please tell me the solution...Thank you...Regards,Dipika Sengupta
I have a experience and putted in some random coordinates (X,Y,Z and X rotation, Z rotation) evenrything appeared (from one view perspective) good, so I adjusted some more and my model was totally wrong. I than setted my previous coordinates back (took screenshot before change) but the model appeared totally somewhere else anybody an Idea on how to fix this? In this image you can see my model with the original coordinates. If I put the model on 0/0/0 its way of and its almost impossible to see the model together with the marker. As you can see in the picture the model is way to low and when you look at it in the viewer it appears behind you.
Is it possible to integrate AR experience created using thingworx studio into our own native iOS app? If so how to do it? I want to connect my databases to thingworx studio, create some AR content and want to integrate the AR module created in my iOS app. How to do that?
I would like to propose that PTC changes Vuforia View so that the first time you start it you are not shown the library of built in examples. I would much rather have my customers see something neutral like a few splash pages showing how to get to the scanner and scan a ThingMark. I'm using View for public consumer applications and when they load the app for the first time (they get to the app download thru QR codes we put on our product) I would prefer that the first thing they see is not a coffee maker, APC, medium range missile and one of our competitors bicycles. I'm not saying the examples can't be in there I would just like to see something else as the default entry screen. The current behavior makes sense if View is targeting developers and just trying to sell Studio to corporations. But if it's the consumer end of the Studio Platform--which is what i think it's supposed to be--it needs too look more like a platform when you first launch it.
I created a pulsing effect for one of my model items using the following code: function pulseBracket(){ if (pulseBracketEnabled){ $timeout(function () { var blueValue = (50 * (Math.sin(currentAngle))) + 50; var color = 'rgba(245, 140, ' + blueValue + ', 1)'; $scope.app.view.Home.wdg['bracket'].color = color; pulseBracket(); }, 5); currentAngle = currentAngle + 0.04; } else { $scope.app.view.Home.wdg['bracket'].color = ""; } } This code works fine in the preview in Vuforia studio, but when I publish it and try to view it on a mobile device using Vuforia View, it doesn't seem to work. Is there any way to view debug logs on Vuforia view to figure out what the problem is?
I would like to parse some JSON and then create 3D Labels at runtime via script. Is it possible to create widgets from script? What i found so far is the Home.json which stores all elements in the scene, and it seems Icould be able to add objects by writing to this file, but this honestly feels a little rough and i also doubt that that will work at runtime.
I still have 15 days left on vuforia studio trial. But I am unable to login or publish my experience in vuforia studio with error 'configure failed'. Please look into this ASAP.
Hello, I am using Thingworx Studio 8.2.2.3099. I have a flat L-profile which I want to visualize horizontally. When viewing the experience on a HoloLens, the long outer edge of the L-part is being illuminated, the rest appears colorless and faded. This can be seen in the following picture. Changing the viewing angle in Thingworx also changes the illumination. Before importing the part into Thingworx I exported it as STEP from Solidworks. I havent assigned any material or color in SolidWorks. The standard scenary with the standard light settings are being used. My question is: Can I change the light behaviour of Thingworx to illuminate the part from another perspective? Do I have to change something in Solidworks so the part is being illuminated differently? Relating this post I also have the following connected problem: How-to-increase-the-opacity-of-big-models Best regards, Dominik
Goodmorning everyone,I would need to create a sequence with the lifting of a double bulkhead, so I have to apply two movements at the same time on the same object (upward translation and rotation).I created the movement with Parametric through the pin, slide and cylinder connections. Now I would like to bring it or recreate it in Illustrate to create the sequence to use in Studio (see video). Is it possible in your opinion?Below is also the link that contains the .pvz with the movement (not real) that I managed to create in illustrated.
