Windchill

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M030-CPS20AP modifies the DB connected to the new import. Once BackgroundMethodServer and BackgroundMethodServerWVS are turned on, a large number of insert/delete actions will be performed on the DB, causing the oracle archive log to explode abnormally.

What I'm about to ask I know is not possible, but I'm wondering if others have found an elegant work around.   We are collaborating with a partner in a Project.  The files are Solidworks, and checked out from PDM.  Occasionally, our partner needs to look at previous iterations or revisions of parts while we also maintain the current version of the object.  It's my understanding that multiple iterations or revisions cannot be shared to a Project, as Project are more of a sandbox and not meant to have versioning and history like PDM.  Outside of creating multiple Projects and sharing older versions of objects, or creating accounts and granting access to our PDM via VPN, I 'm out of ideas in terms of how to get them the history they need.  To me, this seems a bit out of the realm of the intent of Projects, but I wasn't sure if anyone has encountered a similar challenge.    

Hi All,   Kindly help as its been 2-3 days I am not able to connect to Windchill. I am continuously getting the below error :- Service Unavailable The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.   I have cleared browser cache multiple times. Also read method server logs and fixed the INDX filegroup space issue.

In Windchill Rest Services Product Management>getPartStructureI used $expand = Components($expand=Part,PartUse;$levels=max)  API , It executed for 4 mins. To reduce execution time, i want to provide 3 field names in $select query. Kindly refer the attached JSON document to form the query to fetch the field 'PartNumber, ComXXXEngineeringSequences, ItemTypeComXXXIndustriesItemType'. I able to fetch two fields using query $expand = Components($expand=PartUse($select=ComXXXEngineeringSequences)) But when I tried to fetch ItemTypeComXXXIndustriesItemType using query $expand=  Components($expand=Part($select=ItemTypeComPolarisindPolarisIndustriesItemType);$levels=max)It throwed error  [ - The property 'ItemTypeComXXXItemType', used in a query expression, is not defined in type 'Part'.] Kindly check the attached file and let me know how to fetch 'PartNumber, ComXXXEngineeringSequences, ItemTypeComXXXIndustriesItemType' together.

Hello report GurusDoes anybody know how to construct a QML report that will show all "collected" members of a managed collection?This report https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/case_solution.jsp?n=CS174665&lang=en retrieves items initially added to a collection, but it does not retrieve all the other items which are gathered according to the collection configuration. This could be the difference between a single end item or all the parts in a configuration of that product.Is the full collection calculated on demand? or persisted? If the latter, perhaps this is a stretch too far for a QML report.Best RegardsDarren

How can I generate report for CAD to Part structure comparison with sql or any other query ? I know which tables are involved like PartUsesOccurrence, EPMBuildHistory, EPMDocument and EPMDocumentMaster, WTPart, WTPart Master but do not know how they are linked together  

Hello, I need to convert a real number attribute to a string attribute rounded with 3 decimal places. Example: 2.0000000000000E-2, on attribute "UNDERSIZE1"Should be displayed on a new attribute with a value of: 0.002 How can I do this? I cannot make this change on Creo, I need to make it on Windchill, maybe using a calculated attribute with a formula? Thanks!

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.2.9We use configurable products to created variant part numbers, also creating a variant specification. When releasing the variant part we would like to release the variant specification as well. What is the best practice / idea how to release a variant specification together with the variant part(s)? I tried to find a solution using a collector, but this seems not to be possible. Looking for a efficient way of working

Hi all,   I want to fetch data from flex plm to my Thingworx and then after fetching the data I want to make them in a report format like I want to apply analytics on those data's (and the data here is huge) for an example I have many rows and columns of data(that is in json format)  and I want to fetch it then in mashup I want to show them in a format like I want to some filter criteria on those data and also percentage criteria like how many number of data are active or in active like that  so for that what should my approach like fetching all the data from flex then storing it in thingworx database and then apllied different analytics on it or directly fetching it and showing it to the mashup but in this case how  can we apply analytics on the data?   Thanks and Regards, Rayon

Hello everyone!   There are 2 machines:1) windchill server2) worker serverWindchill version: 12.0.2.8 Creo View Adapter: 10.0   I'm trying to start worker, but always get the problem "Problem creating directory <directory_path>. Do not have write access"   I've tried 2 ways: ftp and windows shared folder, no one of them works properly and responses the same porblem There is no any access restriction to this folder, so I use like "All users = Full Control".Moreover I can without any problem connect from windchill machine to worker machine and manually create/delete files in this folder using Explorer to do this with Shared Folder and using cmd to do it with ftp. Maybe someone has already fixed it? Hi everybody,I need this from change management;The change notixw is generated in the "open" state and the members role can do this. However, I want only the person who created the created "change notice" to be able to edit it in the design state.However, I cannot add the creator role to any role.Have you encountered anything like this before? Did you need it?How can I solve this without changing my product structure?How can I actively use the Owner role? Let me repeat my request;Anyone can create but I want only the creator to be editable. 

Hi Community,I have loaded windchill demo data using loader command and now I need to understand whether we have mBOM in Windchill server or not. How we can differentiate between different BOM structures available in the Windchill Server from the UI?  I went through some PTC articles and also youtube video where I found that we can have option of Electrical or Mechanical before starting Part Name, number etc. How I can enable that?Attaching ss for reference.  Thanks,Sid

Hi all, I have a wizard jsp page where I have defined an MVC table and a html button. The intent is once the user clicks the button, system will reload the table using PTC.jca.table.Utils.reload. My table builder contains code which makes an API request to get some validation response which will be displayed on the table. A wizard button on UI will be enabled/disabled based on table row output (safe to assume table will always have one entry). I have noticed that once I reload the table and try to get the updated row(s) I don't get any values since the table is still reloading by the time the program calls "PTC.jca.table.Utils.getTableRows". To mitigate this I set a timeout so it waits for table to finish reload, but I cannot determine on average how long it would take to make the call. Is it possible to have some async/await in this scenario? Or perhaps use a different approach?  I went with the above approach since I want the user to know an operation is happening

Hi, We have around 100 wt part already created in our windchill folders. We have each individual attachment as pdf in our local drive. I would like to know step by step process to attach this document in their respective wt parts which were already created. Could you please some one help me here in creating the xml file and where and how to load this file. Regards,Anand

I am using Windchill MPMLink Release 12.0When I used BOM Transformer to move an assembly in the eBOM to the mBOM, it always moves all the child parts of the assembliy in the eBOM. For example, I may have a printed circuit board (100+components) in the eBOM. As the printed circuit board is made externally and delivered to the factory as a single part number (same revision as in the eBOM), I only want the printed circuit board to appear in the mBOM not the Printed circuit board and all of its child parts.How can I move just the top level part number?

Here is a thought exercise for you. Best practice is to never have a process where some one can create a request and approve their own access. It should be a two step, two person process. Take agreements for example. With this rule, I can setup a single approve/reject workflow for a data owner to approved access to secured documents through agreements. The data owner however, cannot create the agreement or initiate the process. This works perfectly and can be done via ACLs. I found I need to at least grant read access for the data owner to see the agreement but it did move it through its lifecycle to the approved state.    I also found that I need to bootstrap the data owners own access via a context-based agreement. I made an open ended agreement for the data owner to view anything that is in their context. For anyone else, the data owner can allow in too via this method. I know system states that you should use the labels unrestricted group to do this but does that not mean
