I have a simple workflow of a document and I want to add primary content and attachments (2 PDF files) on email as an attachment not as a link. Some people are not PLM users who I want to add as a recipients. I couldn't find if the same topic discussed before. There is a attachment tab on notification robot but i couldnt fix.

 Hi everyone, We use a lifecycle template where an object uses numeric revision scheme when it is in the Development state but when it is Promoted to be released to production, it's automatically revised and the revisioning scheme is changed to alphabetical series. Here is a pic from the PTC help describing a similar process: Otherwise the lifecycle works fine, but for some reason when an object is released to production through promote and auto-revise, it is not sent to the publisher and we don't get any visualizations or representations of it. The user needs to manually send the objects to the publisher in order to get PDF's and STEP's which is not great.I found this article which tells some settings to enable publish on State Change:https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS115536But we already have all those three wvs.properties set to true.A colleague told that the Auto-Revise doesn't register as a State Change and for that reason those settings won't help with

I suspect that the sourcing column for Parts on things like BOMS and PartsLink only looks at the AML side.  Bummer, what if I have a pile of McMaster parts in my system?  I mean, technically, there is an OEM for all things but good luck finding that from McMaster Carr's catalog.  They have their own internal number on things and since the are only a distributor, it would not be technically correct to show them as a MFG just to get the source status field to show something other than "No AML".  So, since cracking McMaster Carr's supply chain is not possible, what does the field recommend? Leave MFG blank or put in fake data to complete the link? Other option is amending the sourcing status data utility to render AVL status in cases where its blank.

When checking in a drawing I've modified, I get an error stating"THE VALUE FOR LOCAL DATE OF CREATION CANNOT BE CHANGED"All I changed was a note on the drawing.What does this mean and why am I getting it?

Hello, I have a requirement where I have to populate an attribute if a specific value was selected for one of the other attributes. The user will not view the object after editing, so I cannot make of data utility and layout. I know that we can use a data utility to record the onchange() event using comboBox and invoke a jsp file. But I am not sure what exactly to be done after invoking a method in jsp file since I want to invoke a java method which will do a set of validation and manipulation to calculate the attribute value. Requesting all to shed some light on the possible solution. Thanks,Hari

hello, if I remember correctly, when I put an attribute in the more attribute layout, it was not showing on the screen if no data was entered into it. However, at the moment, the attributes that I added to more attributes and did not enter data into appear on the screen, creating a bad image.  How do I prevent the attributes that I do not enter data into appear on the screen?

When I am trying to create reports for the Disposition action, I need to combine the Nonconformance and Disposition Action. but when I create a link between these two and I select the Show join in use option in the Report it is not showing any joins. What is the link between Nonconformance and Disposition Action, and How can I include the Disposition Action Task (NC Scarp, NC Return) in the Nonconformance? Coz I need to combine the Disposition Action task in the Nonconformance in one Report?

Hi,  I've used the bleow set of code to enable the combo box in the resulting table of change task. but I've able to view combo box value as well as the combo box drop down is displayed in the all the Component Mode (Create, Edit and View). I've append the steps followed below and the sample code snippet. so kindly check and provide some solution.   1. Create and extends the ResultingItemsTableBuilders to add the new cloumn name 2. Hello, I have a requirement where users want to create an object in Windchill which will have its own set of attributes, life cycle, workflow and role based access. I was thinking that I can introduce a soft type for WTPart or WTDocument, but since there are already many reports and code which uses WTPart and WTDocument object instance in my system, I am hesitant to introduce the object as a subtype of WTPart or WTDoc. Requesting you to provide any alternative type that I can make use of for this object. Thanks,Hari

Can you go back and revise a Promotion Request after it's been approved? I know you can reject and send it back for rework, but that's only before it's officially approved.

 How can I add data to our custom attributes via the WRS API? We have an attribute for WTParts called "CAT_CODE" and I want to add data to it via the CreatePart command (http://##.###.#.##:##/Windchill/servlet/odata/v5/ProdMgmt/Parts). I found a report here... but need to get it to give me an attribute from the EPM doc sub type.  Our Sub type is called CAD Document. This is all to spit out a full family table with the CAD Document Attributes.  These attributes don't exist in the EPM Doc parent type

We have half a dozen or so machines which are currently on an older version of Windows 10 and have PTC Windchill installed on them. When we try to update them to a newer version (21H1, 21H2 etc), windows updates gives me an error code 0x80070714. After doing some research the error code points to PTC interfering with Windows updates ((Solved) Windows10 Update Fails with 0x80070714 - PTC - Microsoft Community). Ideally, I don’t want to go around the machines and uninstall and then reinstall PTC Windchill.Do you know if there has been a fix/workaround for this problem?

I used to disable the alerts notifications (server sends a lot of alert mails "several <cache_nale"> may be oversized ) via the JConsole , and because , it is a test server ,which restart almost each two days , I have to disable the notifications each time . so My questionn is there a way to disable thos mail notifications in the wt.properties file ,through the xconfmanager command ? I guess if i use the below commad xconfmanager -t codebase\wt.proeperties -s wt.mail.mailhost= -p olso the workflow notifcations will be disabled .Thanks in advance.

Dear all,  We have a CN procedure configured with two change tasks. In the change tasks 3 participants need to be selected to perform a review task. By default there is already a complete group selected for one of the review checkboxes. Is there a REST API command via WRS for creating a new CAD Document in Windchill? I only found the "GET" command for this and there is no "POST" command. We are using Windchill 12.0.2

This seems to be a tired topic from my searches, but I'm getting desperate.  I've opened a case with PTC support, and reached out to an account support rep, but I'm still not getting a clear answer.  Here's the use case: I have:drawing.drw A.3drawing.drw A.2drawing.drw A.1drawing.drw -.35I need to delete drawing.drw -.35.  Why?  Because it has a child that I need to delete completely from the system, but it appears this is irrelevant to the task.  I want to keep A.1 thru A.3.  I've already purged version -.1 thru -.34.On drawing.drw -.35, if I try Delete-->Delete all iterations, it says it cannot be deleted because only the latest version of an object may be deleted (I’m assuming it’s referring to A.1 thru A.3).On drawing.drw -.35, if I try Delete-->Delete latest iterations, it says it cannot be deleted because I’m attempting to delete an iteration of this object without deleting iterations on later revisions (I’m assuming it’s referring to A.1
