Hi everyone,   I have created a product configurator with Options & Variants and would like to set default folder for different items generated by it.   The configurator generates a Variant Specification, a Variant Part Structure and a few new Module Variant Parts for some CTO parts with modified parameters.   I believe I can direct the Variant Specification to a specific folder with OIR but Variant Part Structure and Module Variant Parts are proving to be a bit more difficult.   Windchill Help has instructions for setting the default folder for Module Variant Parts: https://support.ptc.com/help/wnc/r12.0.0.0/en/index.html#page/Windchill_Help_Center%2FExpVariantProperties.html%23   You can specify the context and location where to store variant parts by defining variant propertiesin the Part Structure Browser.To define the variant properties:1. What is the Exact Difference between limited pre validation and full pre validation in Validators?

Watched quite a few videos on Windchill 12.0, thought I saw an enhancement where from a search on a drawing, you could download or print the drawing right from a menu. I looked again thru numerous videos and can't find any such enhancement. Can anyone confirm if this functionality was added ?If so, what exactly will it do ? On a related note, for Windchill 9.0 a community user came up with a utility called download pdf or pdf. It added a menu pick for downloading the published file.  There is also a some java code and files that need to be updated for the back end that runs from a Windchill shell.  In Windchill 11 I was able to get the backend utility to work, so basically from a list of drawing files, you can download the published reps with just one click.  Wasn't able to get the utility to run reliably thru the Windchill interface.

When I try to submit a vulnerability report following the instructions at https://www.ptc.com/en/documents/security/coordinated-vulnerability-disclosure, sending an email to cvd@ptc.com, I'm getting a reply from postmaster@ptc.com saying only senders of the same organization are allowed to use the cvd@ptc.com email address (see attached screenshot). What am I supposed to do to submit my report? Thanks. PS: I don't think "Quality Mgmt" is the right label for this topic but there wasn't any other fitting better.

HiThis is my first post on this forum, thanks for any help! For changing a part in an subassembly in an assembly I am using the set state function from "released" to "in work" and this is working well. However, for the collector I would like to collect all affected assemblies "upstream" and use set state on these as well in the same operation. I have a button named "collect upstream equivalent part", but it seems locked by a setting and nothing happens when I click this button. Is the function of this button according to wanted solution? Where do I activate this button? This option should only be valid for administrator and should be set under "my preferences" then logged in as admininstrator? BR Arild

I have completed the rehosting from the Single tier to Multi tier i.e i have one source server with sql, windchill in it and i am rehosting that server to two separate target servers i.e Target Windchill server & Target SQL server.After completing the Rehosting when i start windchill then i am getting the below error, i have attached the error as well as the method server log. Is there a way to request all the information of every part that as a classification ?  as for now, I know of a way to get basic information of every part that as a particular classification, but there is a lot of missing information that I need.  Thanks in advance !

I need to move my users to a new OU in AD, Our current Windchill installation uses AD to authenticate the users using an LDAP adapter. Using Info*Engine I have changed the Search base value in the current adapter to reflect the new OU in AD and ran the ​ant -f webAppConfig.xml regenWebAppConf command from the Windchill shell, however when I move my users to the new OU they cannot login to Windchill. I must be missing some steps to get this working, any help would be appreciated    

Hello, masters of the dark arts of Creo and Windchill.   I'm building a product configurator with Options & Variants and I would like to generate a semi accurate visualization of the variant inside Windchill without opening it in Creo. I wan't to be able to inspect the final assembly model of the variant in Creo View before actually generating the variant and creating all the articles and deliverables belonging to it.   I have modeled all the modules, parts and subassemblies and defined options and choices in Windchill. Next step would be creating a positioning system for the modules but the requirement to generate a visualization in Windchill is making it a bit difficult. I can't just use interfaces and constrains and reference pairings in the model because Windchill doesn't know how to use them in the visualization.   I think I could edit the each modules' default coordinate systems so that they correspond to the default coordinate system of the final assembly when

If a CAD document driven wtPart structure has an owner link to a Design view and then using BOM Transformer (aka MAPSB) and a new downstream view is created (Manufacturing) should we expect the downstream wtParts to have a Contributing image link to the CAD? At the moment they have no association to the CAD.And when revising the CAD Document and collecting the wtParts in Design view would we expect to also collect and revise the downstream wtPart (manufacturing) ? 

Windchill 11.1 M020CPS20, Creo 7.0.7.0 I have created a new context that uses an existing OIR for documents and EPMdocuments. From creo, I can check in object to a sub-folder in the context. When I open that folder in Windchill and select the New document icon, I get the error "You do not have create permission for this object". I have checked the ACL for Documents and EPMdocuments and they both have create allowed.

How to get the folder number or name that are created between some dates
