Windchill

Hello,    Has anyone used checklists as part of a Windchill Workflow task?  We want to use a checklist in the assigned activity to verify that the assignee has done everything they need to before the task moves on.  This seems like something that would be useful to many organizations, but I can't find anything for it.  I'm hoping someone out there has done this and can tell me where to start.    Thank you   -ddmartin3-

I am trying to install CreoView Adapters 7.1.1.0 on my Windchill 11.1. M020 CPS20 server which is running on Windows Server 2016. The matrix says I need the Desktop Experience and I checked with IT and they say they installed it that way. However, when I run the proe2pv_config.exe, the Setup button is grayed out. I also tried 8.0.0.0. Any suggestions before I contact PTC support?  

I messed up with my StateRB file.  How do I restore it to the previous version from backup?  I tried to copy the files there and run the ant command but it didn't take them.

I have created a couple of new products as wcadmin but other users cannot see them. Even my named account does not see the new products and it also has admin rights. I can search for a product name and see it that way, but not from a browse Product, even with selecting View All. The users only see the original 2 when we created the system in 2019. I do see the 4 products in the database using SQL Developer. What do I need to set so all users can see all of the products?

Attached is a query builder report for listing work items assigned to disconnected users.  I have been able to get it to work for products or libraries only.     Does any one have any guidance for how I can define the report to return work items for both products and libraries in the same report.  Thanks.   --Kirk Wemple

I am trying to come up with some code to  A. Pull groups from org level B. Assign those groups to an empty role (based on some workflow variable)   For example:   if workflowVar = A (string), add members from groupA to role if workflowVar = B (string), add members from groupB to role   I was looking at some of the API on the javadocs, but not quite sure where to start. Any help would be very much appreciated!   Jacob

I'd like to create the company standard under the law.When the law is amended, I want to change and reflect the relevant chapter of the company standard.What is the best pactices of the Windchill operation?I,m thinking of the following idea.First, create the DITA file for each chapter of the law or company standard.Then, Linked the corresponding DITA file of the law or the company standard.Finally, when the law DITA file is updated, the corresponding company standard Dita file is recognized.   If you have the better ideas, please let me know, thank you.

Anyone using Desktop Integration with property mapping? We are interested in using it to make Word documents like "smart" Pro/E drawing formats.From what I tried, we're missing something on the mechanism for refreshing attribute values - see attached. Note: To see the codes in Word, toggle Field Codes on / off.No reply on this yet from tech support. We'd really like to use this - hoping that the content of the Word file that you download is not dependent on having DTI on each machine used for download - but that's secondary to getting it to update attribute values at all.

When I edit a 'Create New Layout' to add an additional attribute, I get this message when I go to save it: "The type that you are trying to update was originally created in another domain. The Internal Name and Owning Organization will be updated with the information related to the current domain." Even if I enter OK, when I go to edit it again, the message comes back. How can I tell what the domain name is that is tied to the layout? How can I permanently update the layout so it is in the proper domain?   Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS16

I've had some issues with modifying one particular user in Thingworx Composer, I couldn't update the password, profile picture, etc, however, I was able to update two other users without any issue. I am trying to connect Creo7 to Windchill 11.1 and get an error from the Server Management window in Creo. Insufficient Windchill license to Windchill Server, <server>, connection to <server> is refused. I have added my license with a download from PTC.com for my licenses. I have code to make sure that Roles are filled in before Completing a task.  What I am trying to do is to check multiple roles as being required or not based on workflow variables.  Does anyone have the code for this?   Example (The first two variables are an if this or this): If varible1=outcome1{ Then Role1 must be filled in } if variable2=outcome2{ Then Role1 must be filled in } if  variable3=outcome3{ Then Role2 must be filled in }

Hello,   I have a custom usage attribute defined which is supposed to be coming only once in the ESI response file, but if there is a change in usage values like Quantity, the custom usage attribute tag is coming twice in the response xml with the same values. Hello, I am trying to assign one of my tasks to a group (not a role or an individual) based on a variable defined earlier on in the process. For example:   If workflowVar = A, assign group A to the task if workflowVar = B, assign group B to the task if workflowVar = C, assign group C to the task etc.   I see that there is functionality in Windchill to assign a task to a variable, but I have not found any documents to tell me how to use that functionality. How could I make that variable the group I need? Is there a way to GET a cluster of groups and make the variable the group that I need for the task?   Thanks.    

We have the system set so objects in the Library are downloaded to a workspace as read-only items. However, the users still have the ability to check-out these objects, but not check-in. Looking for some clarification on the Windchill CAD Integration matrix regarding Solidworks 2021.   As shown below, SW2021 is supported for CPS17 and CPS20. Does this mean it is not supported in CPS18 or CPS19.  We are currently on CPS19 and after consecutive defects in CPS16-CPS18, I'm a bit reluctant to install CPS20 unless its the only way to have proper support for Solidworks 2021.   

After uploading drawing into Windchill, the PDF will be generated,however, the Chinese fonts are showing as all "SQUARES" in PDF.  Following https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS35859?art_lang=en , still same issue. really need help to solve the issue.

Dear All,I have been trying to understand what configurable links are in windchill. Also I have created subtypes for four configurable links also and created parent child relationship but after that I don't how data is being mapped or connected between wtpart and document.Even after searching for documentation everywhere I could only find a few links which would talk about configurable link but they are no different from PTC Help center. Can somebody please explain what configurable links are in Windchill in layman terms and also provide some links to understand what Configurable links are?
