Description: Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case:Here is the high level requirement :It must be possible to manage a trial BOM that supports the scenario to produce a limited number of end products with the same Part Number (SKU) as the Production BOM(EBOM and MBOM)The same Trial BOM could be made as Main Stream Production BOM as per the business needs or left as a Trial production onlyThere could be more then one Trial BOMs that need to run in Parallel and they will be merged through formal processThe Production BOM(EBOM and MBOM) should not be impacted by Trial BOMThe Trial BOM(s) should be able to sent to SAP where there is a placeholder(s) for the Trial ERP BOM.-------------------I had thought about some approaches, but leaving the options to brainstorm instead of skewing the solution approach.Description: Version: Windchill 12.1 Description: Same as above
I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.2In proxmox host environment changed windchill server drive type due to veeam backup issues. I am using Windchill MPMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.1.3Bonjour, comment exporter de Windchill, la structure de gamme, avec les opérations associées et les articles associés au format Excel ou CSV ?
I am using Windchill MPMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.1.3Is it possible to export a Control Characteristic associated to a Part? Either within a TechnicalData Package, Replication Package, or as a Part export? I have been reviewing functionality, documentation, and code to see whether a Control Characteristic can be exported - ideallywith the associated part, but also by itself - and I haven't been able to find a way. Is thistheoretically or actually possible within current Windchill MPMLink functionality? Here are the errors that I facedWhen creating a zip package for deliver to PTC Windchill the Exclusion Reason is "Object is not supported for PTC Windchill format option".
I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.2 and Datecode with CPS 11.2.1.16Hello,I accidentally remove wcadmin admin privilege and non on my Engineers are able to check - in their drawing into windchillI'm not sure if these two issue are related,Can you please get the admin privilege back to wcadmin account and take a look at the check-in issue
I am using Windchill MPMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.3Hello,We are using PartsLink and would like to know if there is a way to automatically propagate classification attributes from a design view to manufacturing and service views.Ideally, when an attribute of an item in the design view is modified (for example, the color changes to red), we would like this attribute to be automatically updated in the service and manufacturing views.Changes to attributes in the design view currently generate a significant amount of obsolescence, which is only visible through the BOM transformer or a specific report. In our company, service and manufacturing views are used to manage different structures, but we do not manage attribute differences.Thank you for your help.
I'm exploring configurable links for change management. Can you walk me through your approach to linking WTParts with Change Notices, especially:- how the custom link type was defined,- how you automated link creation when parts are added to Affected Objects, and- how you exposed these links so users can see which products have running changes?Any implementation tips would be very helpful. I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.2.8Can security labels only be applied on attachments, i.e. user should be able to see a document but not download the attachment from it, if not through security labels, how can we apply the same functionality of applying restriction per document where user should be able to see it but not download it.If we cant achieve this through configuration, is customization an approach that could help achieve this?

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: When checking in data starting from teh WGM Add-in in solidworks.Description: When I want to check in my data from Solidworks, I can right click on the part in the WGM add-in and select 'auto Check In',But the 'Undo check out' is just above it. When I click this accidently, all my data is lost. Can this be changed so they are further apart? Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: Versioning Explodes and series alignment is corruptedDescription: While doing our deployment build we came across this issue. When a Redline Notice is created, this is pushing new version Seeds in this system. e.g 'CHG-AA-1'. This 'CHG-' comes from a preference. the AA-1 is taken up from the version of the Affected Item. This although programmatically created OOTB by Windchill , is directly pushed into the versionida2versioninfo column of the WTPart. The ill effect of this is, when we load our next build we get 'Seed CHG-AA-1' is not available in the HarvardSeries error. We have to put in this seed value as a legacy tag to get around the issue. By continuing to do so, Over the time, the series will explode and get populated with a lot of Junk values just to support Redline.Q-1. The best I can do today is get rid of the CHG- prefix, what about the AA-1how is this handled to make it seamless in the configuration, right now its chaos, eve
We are querying part information and their associated documents using the same OData request on two different Windchill environments. In our test environment, all documents are returned correctly with the following request: /Windchill/servlet/odata/ProdMgmt/Parts?$filter=Number eq 'XXXX'& $expand=Versions($filter=State/Value eq 'RELEASED' or State/Value eq 'IMPORTED'; $expand=DescribedBy($expand=DescribedBy($expand=Attachments,Representations)), References($expand=References($expand=Attachments,Representations)), PartDocAssociations($expand=RelatedCADDoc($expand=Attachments,Representations))) However, in our production environment, some documents that are clearly visible in the Windchill UI (under DescribedBy or References) do not appear in the OData API response at all.The document is visible in the UI.We are logged in with an admin account. The same request works fully in the test environment. The issue happens only in production. We would like to ask for guidan
As configure Windchill SSO by following the manual: Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) Authentication , now we are able to open the SSO login page and login with username/password successfully. But when the browser tries to jump into Windchill home page, it showes error message like 'Failed to process the request, Contact your administrator...'. As checked the method server log, there're debug message like below:2025-11-17 13:09:14,115 DEBUG [ajp-nio-127.0.0.1-8011-exec-1] sso.shibboleth.sessionHook wcadmin - Query Parameter - return = https://plmdev.xxxx.com:4443/Shibboleth.sso/SAML2/POST?hook=12025-11-17 13:09:14,115 DEBUG [ajp-nio-127.0.0.1-8011-exec-1] sso.shibboleth.sessionHook wcadmin - Query Parameter - target = null2025-11-17 13:09:14,116 DEBUG [ajp-nio-127.0.0.1-8011-exec-1] sso.shibboleth.sessionHook wcadmin - Windchill Domain Name = plmdev.xxxx.com Just wondering where we can set the 'target' properly so that the sessionHook can handle the request successful
Version: Windchill 12.0 Use Case: A user changed the revision of EPMDocument, as well as the associated WTPart, but forgot to take the WTDocument at the same time.Description: Hi,A user changed the revision of the 3D models and drawings, which changed the revision of the associated parts, which is normal.Unfortunately, they did not collect the associated documents, which also need to be revised and associated with the new part revision. We are now with parts with the new revision associated with documents with the old revision. And there are a lot of them.I am therefore asking you how I can, for a large number of parts, dissociate, for example, revision A from a document and replace it with revision B (without the part taking on a new revision)? With loadfromfile, I can associate revision B, but I end up with both revision A and revision B associated with my part. So I need to dissociate revision A, or is there another solution? Hence my question. And to go further, what are the param
By setting the "ModelCHECK Configuration" one can configure multiple configurations for different Lifecycles (Lifecycle Names! not Lifecycle States) <Lifecycle_1>:<mch_file1>,<mcs_file1> <Lifecycle2>:<mch_file2>,<mcs_file2>...This is well documented in the PTC Help chapter: Configuring ModelCHECK in WindchillBut this is not a realistic example. I am looking for a way to configure the “ModelCHECK configuration” so that different configurations can be used regardless of the lifecycle name (we only have one). This is because there is usually only one lifecycle for Creo data.e.g.:<Lifecycle_1>:<mch_file1>,<mcs_file1> < Lifecycle_1>:<mch_file2>,<mcs_file2>... Does on have a hint for me?
Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I am trying to understand if it possible to ensure that change tasks inherit the number of the change notice to form the prefix of their own unique identifier. For example, if there was a change notice called "12345" which had two change tasks included on it, I would like those change tasks to have numbers of "12345-001" and "12345-002".Description: Can anybody advise if this is possible?
Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: Would like to have a change review object template (like we do for change notices) Description: Two part question as I'm starting to play more with change review objects. These are considered Change objects... so why is it that they can't be templated on the Templates tab like change notices can? I'd like to add a table to the long description field of the peer review object. Keeping in mind the first question, is there a way to do this without templating the object?
Version: Windchill 12.0 Use Case: I have created a custom Report template at ORG level, this query builder report will generate results for all Problem Reports which were "COMPLETED" in past 7 days,Description: I have also exposed this template as Reports in Library context, but when I run the report in any Library context, it gives me results from every context and not specific to the Library context where I am running this from.Is there any way I can specify context specific search based on where I execute this report from?
I have an excel database full of serial numbers for parts. I am wondering if it is possible to import these serial numbers to PLM from the spreadsheet as part instances. The parts already exisit in PLM i just want to add all my serial numbers as part instances. Not sure if this is possible in windchill
Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: I need users within a specific group to access and initiate workflows.Description: I have created a new product "Parts" and set up the groups and users.I need the user within the new "CAD User Group" to initiate a workflow. The issue is they can not see the Templates option under "Parts".I added both the Workflow Authors and Workflow Administrators groups to the user with no change.I can see if I add the Org Admin group to the user they can see templates, but then they have too much authority.

Hello Everyone,I’m currently facing a challenge in Windchill where I need to terminate a bulk promotion request that has been assigned to a single user. However, I couldn’t find any existing functionality within Windchill that allows termination of such requests.Has anyone come across a similar situation or found a workaround for this?Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,KB
I have a scenario where I need to traverse to to the Upstream eBOM part using following API -> wt.fc.PersistenceHelper.manager.navigate(mfg_Part,wt.associativity.EquivalenceLink.UPSTREAM_ROLE, wt.associativity.EquivalenceLink.class); Above API returns QueryResult for all iterations of upstream WTPart which had equivalent link between them and mBOM part. However if the user iterates eBOM part but does not update equivalent link manually, I would still need to be able to traverse to previously linked upstream part Need assistance with finding link to previous Non -Latest eBOM wtPart to fetch further associated documents from it QueryResult upstreamResult = wt.fc.PersistenceHelper.manager.navigate(parentPart,wt.associativity.EquivalenceLink.UPSTREAM_ROLE, wt.associativity.EquivalenceLink.class);LOGGER.debug(">>>>> upstreamResult : " + upstreamResult.size());while (upstreamResult.hasMoreElements()) {Object partObj = (WTPart) upstreamRe
Version: Windchill 11.2 Use Case: Hello, I am looking to see if its possible to add the iteration number in the file stored in the representation;. We downloads the PDFs and steps files thru so it would be helpful to have the iteration also showing to reduce the chances of mixing up.Description:
