Windchill

I'm on 11.1 m020.  I am trying to set up a change notice to show some users.  Originally the change notice and change activity were not instaniable.  I turned these on.  Now I can create a Notice and a Task, add Affected Objects to the task, but it will not allow for adding Resulting Objects.  Anyone ever run into this?

We are looking to pulling/integrate additional attributes (job title, department, and company) from Active Directory into Windchill user attributes.  We have tried to map these attributes in the Info*Engine JNDI Adapter, but have had no luck getting the data into Windchill.  We are on version 11.1 M020 CPS16.   We also tried to follow CS162357 without any luck as well.   Thanks, Craig

Hi,It's that time of year again when 1-1=0.I use the Get_Month - 1 calculation to capture the work items created last month.Problem is in January the month = 1For some reason 1 minus 1 does not equal 12...Has anyone a better way to get a criteria for 'last month'?This goes into a Cognos report, so I'm not able to use the 'last month' attributes when running the report with Report Builder

Hello, I'm posting on the off chance that someone else has encountered this and has a fix.  I am trying to get the WTPartCreator tool to work.  I have it so that just one object is being processed before moving on to bigger chucks of data.  No matter what object number I choose, it will not create a wtPart and if I already have the wtPart in the database it will not connect the two.   The error that I get is: (wt.series.seriesResource/2) wt.series.SeriesException: The revision value is not valid within the series: 1, series=DefaultNested exception is: The revision value is not valid within the series: 1, series=Default   Anyone run across this before and have a solution? Thank you

Hi all The resources-for-reporting page is a great help to me: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Windchill-Tips/Resource-for-reporting/m-p/448738   However the links to the ptcuser site are broken, and according to the comments at the bottom they might have been broken for a long time. I thought I could find topics in ptcuser by searching, but no luck with that. It seems a shame to loose all that good content, there are 105 references to ptcuser in the page.  Two solutions, which one is workable?: locate each article in ptcuser and copy it into a ptc support article change ptcuser.org so the links resolve to the articles thanks -- Rick

Hi all Is it possible to grant a user partial admin privileges? A user would like to use QueryBuilder just so they can get some understanding of the Tables and fields in the DB. But I don't want to grant full admin privileges.   thanks -- Rick

I have a open case on this but felt I should share with the field.  We use substitute links on our BOMs to denote replacements of parts in the context of a specific assembly.  When you create a substitute link, you are forced to check out the BOM, create the link and then check it in.  Understand that the substitute link is between a Part and a line item on a BOM.  We discovered that if a substitute part has no other where used, you are able to delete that part without any referential integrity exception. The part and its substitute link will be deleted.     This means if you have a released BOM sitting there for years with substitutes, its possible to at a later time, delete the substitute parts from PDMLink. The resulting BOM will show as if those subs never existed at all.  I was informed this was "working to spec" but disagree. This was with 11.1 but I know it had existed in previous versions.  What are your thoughts? Bug? Design flaw? E

PTC's example uses OpenDJ Community Edition. https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS337554 This software hasn't been maintained since 2017. https://forgerock.github.io/opendj-community-edition/ I'm guessing companies will have a problem with this from a security perspective.  What are others planning to do for production and non-production systems: buy OpenDJ commercial version or use OpenLDAP, ApacheDS, Active Directory, other? I would like to use something that is platform agnostic so Active Directory isn't at the top of my list. After a quick search, I didn't find a windows flavor of OpenLDAP.  Maybe I just didn't search hard enough... I'm looking into Apache Directory Studio with the embedded ApacheDS, last updated December 2020.  I've been using its LDAP browser with ADS and WDS for years.  Didn't realize ApacheDS (Directory Server) was embedded.  I can also setup ApacheDS standalone and use Apache Directory Studio from another computer.  Seems fle

Hi Team,   If the source system is 9.x and if the target system is 11.x should we choose Migration or upgrade ?   I understand migration is not supported across 9.x to 11.x but should we prefer upgrade ? and if migration has to be done how do we migrate from 9.x to 11.x ?   How do we opt between Migration or Upgrade ?

Hello everyone,  I know that IBA attributes are only visible in result table if: I select only one type or I added a criteria on an attributes (but the only attribute visible is those used in criteria) This is not enough for my client (he has Windchill 11.0), he wants all attributes always displaied as result of the search; so i wondering if: I have to create a custom action on the search result table ?  In Windchill 11.2 there will be this possibility ?   Thank you   Giorgio Fontana

Hello everyone,   Currently in our Windchill system (WGM 11.1), rename preferences inherited directly from the organization level context, and I could not see those preferences at product level context. So I would like to know if there is any possibility to see or transfer there preferences from Organization level to product level context.   e.g.  All the below mentioned settings are at Organization level (Value set - Unchanged), but I cannot see these attributes at product level context.   Default setting for File NameDefault setting for NameDefault setting for Number   Well, requirement for us is that one of our product owner wants to control this preferences from product level context. Name and File name should be "Same as Number" instead "Unchanged", and Number field value should remain same as "Unchanged". Hello all, I hope you are well and safe.   Anyone of you knows how to make Windchill show only the users from a role in the routing tab, while creating a task, in a workflow? What I want is that the routing events showns  the name of the people assigned to a specific role, so I only have to change the users in the "Team" Context and automatically the workflow will update and show the users available to assing the next task.  Is this possible using some Jaca script?   I was thinking in another option: restrict the users available to re assign a task base on role, so the responsible user of the current task will see, in the re assign list users, the users that belong to a specific role only. Hi All, I have a list of Part ID's. Is it possible to get the content of all Parts with the given ID's sending just one request?   The only way i found so far is to send one request for each object ID: .../Windchill/servlet/odata/ProdMgmt/Parts('OR:wt.part.WTPart:000001').../Windchill/servlet/odata/ProdMgmt/Parts('OR:wt.part.WTPart:000002').../Windchill/servlet/odata/ProdMgmt/Parts('OR:wt.part.WTPart:000003')... filtering doesn't work at all because the 'ID' belongs to the group of NonFilterableProperties.   any ideas?

Hi, we have an unusual scenario where we do not keep copies of old documentation, for "legal reasons". Currently document management is done on shared drive, I want to move this documentation into Windchill and version control it and release through workflows etc etc. But we cant keep primary content or attachments in previous versions. So, is there a way that we could trigger the previous versions primary content to be deleted after a new version is released, or just delete the previous version completely?

Is this possible and let me know if anyone had success.   Creating two subtypes at site level to achieve the end goals 1 and 2. Mainly to drive separate list of attributes and layouts on each subtype. 1. EPMDocument subtype1 - This should be available to for org1,2,3,4,5 creo users.  2. EPMDocument subtype2  - This should be available to only for org 6 creo users.    First started defining single subtype at site level and then followed steps documented as per this article https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS41665. Could't force Creo/WGM to use epm subtype to create first CAD Document. I don't see options in this article to proceed to create CAD Document templates when not having single CAD Document in system using custom subtype. 

I just did an installation of Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS16 on a Windows Server 16 OS. When I went to look in some of the folders, all of the files have lost their file extensions and are lists as just a file. Example: dsjavaproperties does not have the .bat on the end and when run, none of the commands in the file execute as the OS does not recognize the commands in the file. Renaming the file to dsjavaproerties.bat shoes it now as a Windows Batch file, but it still gives errors when executed.   Has anyone else had this issue with Windows Server 2016? The install works fine on Windows Server 2012. How do I fix this without removing and reinstalling everything?

Hello,    I´m currently trying to connect our WCN (11.2.1.) with the performance advisor.    For that, I need to configure the PA_Agent_Conf.xml. So far I get some errors in my logs.    My guess is that my edgeHost is wrong. All mandatory Reviewers must Approve to release the Object in Review.  If any Reviewer chooses another option, the flow should immediate start to follow that Routing Option, even if one or more Reviewers already approved.   Thanks for your help
