Hi.   I need java api to get context-dependent "folder.id" from soft type OIR. I have soft type id looking like "wt.doc.WTDocument|ru.pts.TechDoc|ru.pts.DesignDoc".   I found two methods:         FolderContextHelper.getServerAssignedOIRFolder(typeInstance)    FolderContextHelper.getPregeneratedOIRFolder(typeInstance)   but they require TypeInstance and i don't know how to get it without object.   There is posibility to get folder by PersistableAdapter, but the result is context-independent.   Thanks.

We have family tables stored in a read-only product.  When the family tables are updated, they're moved from the read-only product to one with write access.  The family tables can then be checked out, updated, checked back in, and moved back to the read-only product.   Moving the family table along with its instances facilitates the publishing of every version of every instance.  This creates thousands of unnecessary items being sent to the publisher.   How do I configure the publishing rules in the Worker Agent to prohibit this behavior?

Hello,We work with windchill 10.2 and creo elements/direct modeling 18.1 and we want to load drawings (mi-files) automatic. Normally it should work with "sd-uwgm-element-load" from modeling with lisp programming, but I get an error "Illegal call to action routine”. For 3D files (sdac and sdpc) this works perfectly but apparently not for 2D files. Is there an other way to do this, or is it possible to change this command in modeling.Thanks in advance

This group should be created automatically from LicensingSubSystem, is it right ?.     Can someone help me, please? Hi All,   We have Windchill Quality Solution (Risk and Reliability) connected to Windchill PDM Link through windchill integration. We imported latest BOM and created some FMEA data. We want to create separate FMEA data when are parts or product are revised so that we can see the FMEA for version A and for Version B separately. I found below in reference guide but this does not explain. if i sync BOM again with latest expansion criteria than it will replace the version in System Tree Item.           Do we need to create separate Filters in windchill and system files based on version? Let me know if anyone has any idea. Thanks for advance.

Is it possible to add custom validator for enabling or disabling "Check Out" actions in Search Result Table? Not able to retrieve searched objects through uiValidationCriteria method by extending default validator. Is there any way to customize it? As part of a requirement, we have to enable the Check out only to the authorized users of a WTDocument. The custom validators are implemented on the object properties but could not find a way so far to extend the same on the search results table.

Hello folks,   I'm trying to get the AfterLoader set up...  when following the instructions for running the following   javac -classpath %CLASSPATH%;%WT_HOME%\srclib\tool\Annotations.jar -d %wt_home%\codebase AfterEDRloader.java   i get a invalid flag error... I'm a touch new... I don't think there are environment variables set on my install.  What would my %CLASSPATH% be set to?   Thanks for any help.

Hi All,   I am Trying to install WBM on target i.e. Windchill 11 machine, when i try to install it by using PSI, the WBM is not detected even i placed it in staging area. also i am not able to locate setup.exe file in downloaded media for WBM.  i have gone through WBM installation guide, but not found information about very first step of installation.   or is any other method of installation without PSI.   Kindly help me to explore the WBM. here is snap of WBM media folders. I am working with Windchill 10.2 currently and the question has come up about folder permissions. What we would like to do is create a top level product container and create folders for various groups within that container. These groups are to be kept separate from each other, meaning each group will have access to their own folder but not have access to the other folders in the container.   With that being said, can we control the permissions at the folder level or will we need to create a separate container for each group?   Thank you in advance for your time and have a good one.

Hello,   I am building a utility which will give me the list of child part numbers as an output for a given part number and I want to expose this utility using Rest API so that the users can execute this utility themselves.    I have followed the below steps to get the utility in Swagger UI but I am not able to see the added entry. i) Added the below entry in rest.properties.xconf    <Property name="ext.webservices.rest.test.resources" multivalued="," default="ext.webservices.rest.test.TestUtility"/> ii) Written a java file. Hi   Just installed Windchill 12 version. no updates in terme of ui design. We even can't tell if it's an 11.2 or 12.   Anyone knows why this new strategy from PTC ? will the big new version be 13 or 12.1 ?   Regards

Actually, its a love/hate relationship, more hate. Well, they did it to me again. Upgrade changes things (flexible changes) but leaves you in a state where objects before the upgrade return in reports but nothing after. In this case, the addressedBy link was deprecated but the data was not moved. "You moved the cemetery, but you left the bodies, didn't you?" Yep. This means any report that had joined the two only sees pairs created before the upgrade (in my case 10.2 to 11.1). The new link is ChangeProcessLink but for some reason, I had to two step it to get results to show. I was able to get this join model to work but you need to use outer joins pointing toward the change request. This will return either links from AddressedBy or ChangeProcessLink in a single report. Between you, me and the poltergeist, I am shocked it worked.

we as use windchill for or solidworks files. Problem I ran into is have an assembly that uses toolbox hardware in it. How do I deal with that to get the assembly into windchill? thanks

I am looking to add some additional actions to a Configurable Links table, specifically I would like to add the submodel for export to give the user the ability to export the table to an excel spreadsheet. I've added the export submodel to the table in custom actionmodel and this does not work.   I opened up a support ticket for this issue and the answered that I received is listed below. Has anybody been able to find a way around this limitation?   I have set up server and install Configurable Links. I have tried to adding export actions (export to excel ,export to File etc) however it does not work. Also, tried with adding submodel but still that fails as configurable Table toolbar action is controlled by   “ConfigurableLinkTableToolbarActionCommandDelegate”. Article : CS237601 for reference.   This seems to limitation of this delegate class which will not allow submodel or actions governed by submodel;  however it may work for few other ootb or custom action

I have the need to create serial numbers and wondering what is the best practice for that. I have embedded a chart showing that I have a main machine product, then we have 2 different designed configurations for it. And then from there, we would have serial numbers.  At first we thought we would track in PDM, but as I learn more about MPM, that seems to be the tool to track what physically was built and sent out the door. Is this the right approach? 

I have parts saved in Windchill and I have a parameter that stores the customer's part number.  However, sometimes there are cases where the same part is used for many different Customers.   Is there a good way to associate a list of customers who use the part and the given part number that they have assigned our part?  There is something similar with Supplier Part Management.  Is this a good option?  Set up the customer as a supplier? After I do this is there any way to create a query of this data so that I could retrieve a list of customers and their corresponding part number for a single part?
