We have recently integrated SolidWorks with PTC Windchill. Previously, I have used, NX w/Teamcenter and on the feature tree there was columns for the Revision, State (Released,Obsolete), etc. Do you know if SolidWorks has anything similar to that? See attached screenshot for an example.
I tried both with Internet Explorer and Chrome. Tried 2 days in a row without success. Other pages in the knowledge base works fine.

When processing a Change Notice we want to get the proposed change reviewed and commented on before we create the new revision of the document. We are trying to capture any comments as an attachment to the Change Notice, however this is quite awkward because the file has to be saved externally and then added back in as a new attachment. Is anybody using any other way to collect review comments within Windchill that overcomes this issue?
Hello, Can anyone please explain the difference between Contributing Image, Image, Contributing content in Windchill? Please suggest how can we create this in windchill and understand the difference
After reading and watching the videos in https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS241583 I have created a new versioning scheme put used the same numbers and letters as the OOTB versioning scheme, just with a new series name and seed names. Portion of file included: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><scheme><series name="StateBased"><seed name="NUMERIC"><value>1</value>(deleted lines)<value>99</value></seed><seed name="MILSTD"><value>-</value><value>A</value>(deleted lines)<value>AY</value></seed></series>-<series name="CentrusStateBased"><seed name="Draft"><value>A</value>(deleted lines)<value>AY</value></seed><seed name="Release"><value>0</value><value>1</value>(deleted lines)<value>99</value></seed></series></scheme> I can create Documents just fine, but crea
Hi, Large assembly file's thumbnail was not generate.. so we change option that 'publish.cadtimeout.assembly' to 10800. Still no thumbnails are generated. What additional settings should I use to create thumbnails reliably for large assemblies? Thanks. Warm Regards, SeonHo Cha
I am creating a new Create Document layout. By default, I see under the Primary Content Source area of the layout, a selection box for where the file is and the file name box. I would like to add to this section of the screen layout. In Type manager, I can modify the layout and add fields, but they go either in the Attributes section or the Business section. How do I get these fields into the Primary Content Source section? Windchill 11.0 m030 CPS16
Some Users Can't See WT parts in windchill. (Also when happens when they search for just wt parts) Any ideas on how to get them to be able to see them?
Is it possible to pass the username and password through a URL to log a specific user in? (i.e. http://domain.com/gallery/mail.php?user=bob?password=abc123) I At the moment we are able to view images held in Windchill via SAP Business Objects when a user logs onto the client however when it comes to downloading images to PDF, it goes through the Busness Objects Server which the users do not have access to so we need to find a way to be able to silently pass the Flex users credentials else the user does not have the ability to download the images. Thanks
Hi all, Is there any way we can import an excel file and get the excel data into an infotable like for csv files? Regards, Biswa
I have some questions about upgrading Windchill 11.0 to 11.2 on the same hardware. Currently I have Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014. I want to end up with either SQL 2016 or 2017 and Server 2016 or 2019. I would prefer the latter on both due to not needing to upgrade to the latter in the future then. My last couple of upgrades have been to new servers so these questions are around having doing it on the same server. My questions are: Do I need double the disk space for my database? How should I size my database temp and log disks? Do I need to copy my existing vault for the upgrade? Can I have two versions of SQL running on the server for upgrading or should I do the SQL upgrade after completing the Windchill upgrade? Should the Windows Server upgrade be done last? Anything else I need to think of hardware wise? Thank you, Brian
We are using configurable products to filter our BOM and view in Creo View, however my users are complaining that its too many steps, we are using this method at present: Browse Library Library Folder Library sub-folder Select product from links in folder (go directly to Structure tab) Edit filter Options tab Select Options Open in Creo View I would like to reduce these steps as much as possible by providing links to the filtered structure which open directly into Creo View. Is it possible to create Representations which always show Latest and are also filtered by Variant Specification?
All, In trying to add a Problem Report to an ECN as an Associated Process Object, I get an error about Association Rule 21. I can attach the PR as an Associated Reference Object with no trouble. The only thing I could see that might cause a problem, is that both PR's had a WTPart number in common. Any ideas what this could be?James Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS08
Once you have rehost down they go and change it. Granted the last rehost I needed to do was 4 years ago but I have another test server and am trying to rehost my production server. I installed SQL Server and installed the database portion of Windchill. Imported my database and performed the action after import. Then I copied the Windchill load point and vault over. Then I set up my rehost.properties file and ran the rehost. It says it completed successfully. Windchill will not start and disconnects WindchillDS in the process. I'm on 11.0 m030. The last time I did this I was on 10.2. Does anyone have a document with the steps needed for doing this? I'm guessing part of it is my LDAP connection. Any suggestions or help would greatly be appreciated. I just wish this wasn't always changing. My instructions should be good to get it working again, but I guess going from Rehost Utility 3.0 to Rehost 11.0 is a major

Hi. I'm trying to find out how to change the image at the top of the Windchill UI. I need to "rebrand" the header in Windchill to match my user community colors and images. I did this in our V9.1 environment, but haven't found out how to do this in V10.2 yet. Also, I would like to customize the colors used by the browser. Not the right shade of blue for our customers. Something like this:Anyone have an idea where I need to look?
Hello All Recently I upgraded Thingworx from 8.1.3 to 8.4 and Thingworx Navigate from 1.6.1 to 1.9.1 following official PTC guides. During upgrade I did not see any errors or failures but now the Navigate Landing Page has serious rendering issues s you can see from the attached screenshot There are no javascript errors and all static resources (CSS/JS etc...) are loaded correctly Thank you Davide
The customer opened this case with the description The Hyperlink attribute is currently limited to 200 characters, but this is too short to contain links to Creo View annotations within Windchill itself. Customer needs to increase the length to about 600 characters or come up with another means of linking fields/attributes in a WTPart subtype to specific Creo View annotations. I suggested the following articles as possibilities here CS155068 – How to extend the length of the WTPart's Name attribute https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS155068 CS36423 – Is it possible to extend the column length of Modeled Attributes of type String https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS36423 CS24652 – What is the maximum length of a global string attribute https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS24652 CS213940 – Is it possible to increase the column length of a modeled attribute to accept over 1333 characters https://www.ptc.com/en/su
In the Windchill GUI, on the structure tab (info page of a WTPart), I can define and reuse Filter for the configuration. See the following immage:I would like to export the part structure using one of the saved filter I created in Windchill. My first approach is to try to find the instance of ConfigSpec, but I could not really find the way to go.Is the following a good starting point or should I look for "Filter" instead of ConfigSpec?: ConfigService.getConfigSpecFor(NavCriteriaContext(....)) Thanks,LM
Hello, I'm new to PTC Windchill and I want to extract different sorts of data from PTC Windchill to use it for Process Mining with a third-party software. Therefore I'd (preferably) need the data as .csv or .xlsx files. (However xml or something similar would also do it.) Firstly I want to extract transaction data of a product concerning a change process: For example: Creation date of a problem report Further transaction data depending on the change worklfow... Secondly I also want to extract meta-data of products and further master data.I've searched the documentation and the community and for my understanding there are a few different ways to receive this kind of data. However I've stumbled across some problems with theses ways. Furthermore I'm not sure what the best practice to do so would be: Reports Problem: How do I identify which tables (types) I have to use for the report and how are they related? SQL - Queries Same problem as with reports, which tables contain the infor
From the Folder Contents page, there is an action called "Export List to File", that allows me to save all the data into an excel file. I would like to know if there is a feature that allows me to automate this task, and schedule it to run at a certain time everyday.
Greetings,I am looking for customer cases where either Enovia (Dassault) or Agile (Oracle) are being used as an alternative to Windchill, particularly CAD data management. We are evaluating consolidation of PDMs as we own all three. I am specifically looking for what to expect as far as pitfalls, workarounds, limitations, etc. as pertaining to the use of Creo Parametric, Schematic, View, Illustrate, etc.Any help will be greatly appreciated.
