Hey, have a simple one I think.  We create our part numbers in creo (Auto Generated). Faster for designers and engineers to get things done.    Then after the fact, we create the gear parts / WT parts.    Slight problem. The Gear part is creating its own number that is different and independent of the cad part no. How do I get them to auto-generate/associate without manually entering every gear part number?     Cheers RC  

ref: CS22167From Org, Groups UI, one can see all members of each Group. There is no way to output this to a file. Cannot get info using any Windchill report.Has anyone solved this problem (found a way to export Group membership to Excel)? We're required to periodically audit membership and this would be very helpful.

Hi all, In our windchill 11 installation, the users can only create a workspace, but don't can delete. In photo the error. I found this article: Article - CS111752 Access permission for deleting a workspace in Windchill PDMLink But this permission already existing in windchill. If I acces with site admin, I can delete workspace of others user. How I can fix this problem? Thanks  

Hello,   I am trying to generate a report of all objects (all versions & Iterations) under a product using Report Management. But it is only showing latest iterations of all revisions of objects and not all iterations. Any suggestions would help.   Regards, Abhi

We have our topics stored in several folders, based on the year of creation; however, a lot of the time our original topics need to be updated many months, or even years, later.Is there a way to find topics that were modified or created within a specific date range? *The search will need to span multiple libraries/contexts/products.***Preferably, the result will be a compressed file with all new/updated dita topics or .htm files.Thanks!

If I have CAD drawings being modified in a PROJECT, how do I maintain the WTPart association that it has in PDM following the PDM Check-in?    I thought I had to collect the Part when I revise the CAD drawing (in PDM; can't add a drawing to a project to modify unless in WIP) to keep it connected, but when I do a Convert to PDM Check-out on the drawing, the Part doesn't maintain its association when I Send back to PDM when I am done.   I can do a PDM Check-out on the Part, but it may need to be worked on in PDM during the course of a Project (our projects can last 18 months).    I can show them how to associate the Parts to the drawings when they come back to PDM, but there has to be an easier way.

Sorry if this is another rookie question... but I have read here about the ability to search for objects that are in users' workspaces. How do I do this? I have files - I don't know how many - that I need to clean up, as we are doing a re-organization of our Windchill cabinets soon. I want to move some, and I want to delete the latest Rev of some others, but I can't because they are in a Workspace somewhere. I can log in as orgadmin.I realize that if they are in the user's side Workspace then I have a bigger problem.

Hi, I cannot create new product on Windchill 11.0 M030. I logged in site administrator and click "View All" of Products tab, but there ware not "New product" button.   It has any other necessary setting properties?

Hi,   I need to trigger a  windchill workflow from Thingworx.  I think it's  right way to expose this function through OData rest service in windchill.  The logic of WRS  function is implemented by Javascript,  which I don't understand and don't know where to find the document of API,  I have no idea of how to implement my logic. The Customer has a number of released objects which he wants to check out and edit/change without affecting the released objects.he uses ProjectLink, but he miss a solid way to handle changes to already released CAD objects. These changes might not be used in the future, but then he has to revise the CAD objects in order to make changes.     more accurately ,The issue  is that the user want to explore new design options on released CAD files.In order to "lock" the files to a specific user, the user needs to check the file out and not just use "continue" option in Creo/CAD.Sometimes the investigation does not lead to new design and sometime sit does.It's the situation during the investigation where they don't know IF the change is implemented or not, hence the question.How to handle this situation?   Thank you for any helpful idea.     Achraf

Hello, our customer is starting using MPMLink on productive system and they are going to work with with the MAPS Browser. Let`s assume we have on the right hand side an eBOM and on the right hand side the corresponding mBOM.   The eBOM looks like   Product - Assembly_1 QTY 4 --Part_1 QTY 3 --Part_2 QTY 2 ...     The mBOM looks like   Product -Assembly_1 QTY 2 --Part_1 QTY 2 --Part_2 QTY 4   -Assembly_2 QTY 1 --Part_1 QTY 8   So in total we have the same quantity of all parts. The discrepancy search will show differences in the quantity. Is there a way to handle such uses cases?

When working with Change Notices (CN) in PDMLink, does anyone else have to fill out these three fields (which are really identical) in order for useful information to be displayed on all the right places (CN, Task, email notifications, etc?). We have a little automation in place because the CN description will do a one time propagation to the Task auto-propagate, but after that the connection is broken so if one changes the other will not update.  This reputation is a nuisance, conducive to error, and takes up space! Any way to get these to synchronize all the time and then only have to enter it once, or update it once?We are using Windchill 10.1 M050, and only use 1 task per 1 ECN.  Perhaps this is better in EC11?Thanks, Lawrence

I have just enabled autonumbering for one particular product and now I need to do some renaming/renumbering to use the new numbers.  Is there any way to have the drawings automatically use the model's newly assigned number?  Since I can't see what the new number is until after the renaming process is finished, I have no idea how to properly rename the drawings while still keeping them matched up with their corresponding models.  Any ideas?   This is what happens if I autonumber everything together (drawing doesn't match the model):   Before      During   After If I autonumber just the models, I won't have any idea which newly named model the drawing should be associated with (in order to rename it.):      Before   During   After

Hi All,   previously with Windchill 10.1 we where able to checkout only the instance and generic when editing an instance of a family table part - which constists i.e. in adding / changing a number/letter in a parameter (which of course is contained in the family table). But now on Windchill 11.0 I found no way to do this. It always happens that the whole family table is being checked out! We are also using ModelCHECK Gatekeeper since years, and this has never been a problem becaus only the edited variant needed to be verified then. What am I doing wrong? Did you also come across this problem?

Can the metrics located under monitoring changes be customized or modified? I would like to show yearly, weekly, monthly trending for problem report, change record/notices by quantity, assignee and aging.

My part lifecycle state includes Open - Under Review - Alpha Release - Beta Release - Production Release - Cancelled.On revise from Alpha, Beta or Production Release states, the part comes in Open State.I have 3 subtypes of Change Notice (CN_1,CN_2,CN_3). If CN_1 is raised on the parts, resulting objects should be released to Alpha release, for CN_2 - Beta release, for CN_3 - Production Release.Since change transition allows only one target state, How can i achieve this ? I don't want user to select the release target. Instead release target should automatically change depending on the change notice type.
