Hi,I have a soft attribute (URL) for WTPartUsageLink called LabelControl. Under the Uses tab of Structure tab of a WTPart, I want to be able to set a URL based on the label entered in the URL Label  field.The label will be the name of a WTDocument in Windchill and the URL is the details page of the WTDocument.I have tried to give the label and the URL using the following code, but the value of the attribute is not reflecting:     WTPartUsageLink usageLink = WTPartUsageLink.newWTPartUsageLink(part, part.getMaster());     part = (WTPart) WorkInProgressHelper.service.checkout(part, WorkInProgressHelper.service.getCheckoutFolder(), "").getWorkingCopy();     PersistableAdapter obj = new PersistableAdapter(usageLink, null, Locale.US, new UpdateOperationIdentifier());     obj.load("LabelControl");     String url = getDetailsURL(doc); //gets the url of the WTDocument    

One of our Windchill wtparts has the below icon, when you hover over, it reads configurable module.What is it?  How did it become that icon?  How do I change it back to the normal wtpart icon?

Hello.I am working on a customization.I have my external enumerated value list customization on which I  pass a string as parameter (from the type and attribute management) to find a specific context.This works fine, however I'd like to pass to the parameter, the context gathered from the "create window" via NmCommandBean.Is this even possible?I know I can get the context from a datautility, maybe is it possible to pass it to the external enumerated class?Thank you for your help.Antonio

I saw a demonstration at the last PTC conference  related to the PTC Navigator.  I am having a horrible time finding any information on details regarding how it works or someone to discuss the details.   Anyone out there have any idea?

Is it possible for a given part number (eg ANNNANNN) to create "Design" View in a Design Product Container (eg:DEMO)  and "Manufacturing" View in a Plant Product/Library container (PLANT1)  for better access controls across Engineering and Manufacturing organization. Based on the community discussions and the earlier windchill versions this use case was not possible.   But what we have observed in WC11 M010 is , we are able to create Part's (ANNNANNN) Manufacturing View in different context (PLANT1)  other than Design view context (DEMO)through mAPSB .After successful creation of the view, in the mAPSB  under context column its showing the Design view context (DEMO)  but in the View information page of part's "Manufacturing"View its showing the actual context (PLANT1). Please let me know if anyone has observed this behavior and is it issue with WC11.   Appreciate your response and if any one has implemented such use cases.   - Raj

Hi,we would like to populate Attributes in WINDCHILL Parts  by using creo Parameters. Some attribute mappings I retrieved by Trail-and-Error, but for others I did not succeed.So my question is if it is possible to get a list from the system about those mappings? Or how can I find it? Is it possible to create an attribute on a object (CAD Doc) that when the objects iterates (check-in or revise), the previous value of the attribute will not copy forward?

Please see attached document.  Puzzled what is going on.We seem to have a zillion drawings that behave this way.

We don't currently use WTParts here (back 10+ years from how things were at Alcon...) and have no current plans.I'm simplifying Windchill where possible.  Would like to remove the Parts link from CAD Doc, Related Objects tab.  It's a matter of finding the right block in \Windchill\codebase\config\actions\???actionmodels.xml, copying it to custom-actionmodels.xml and then removing.  I can't find the file that has the related objects page definition.  Tech support w/PTC pending for a few days now - the TSE hasn't yet found it either.  Must be something very simple.  Appreciate answers.thx

anyone knows the steps to migrate to INTRALINK 3.4 M070 PTC Windchill PDM Essentials (Windchill PDMLink 10.2 M030-CPS20)it comes to pass from one Oracle database to SQLa consultant told me that you have to extract individual files from INTRALINK and then reinsertbut it would be too long to work and I can not believeI understand that this is a forum and not the assistance, but maybe someone has already done this enterpriseand can give me a hintTY

We have few users who had subscribed for many objects events like check-out, check-in, State change,....etc. to get email notifications for the changes.Now they no more works with organization and their account get deactivated in Active Directory. Windchill server is not able to send an email to those users for this events, so site admin getting email failure notifications.I am looking for some way to remove this subscriptions from the system for that specific user, as its very unpractical to go each and every objects and unsubscribe there.Any help will be appreciated.Thanks,Devidas

Hi all,This is a fairly discussed topic, but I don't see good documentation and examples in PTC help on what is recommended for what type of documents.Iam looking for examples on in what cases we should use the link "References Document" and in what cases we should use "Described by" document.Recommended option for scenarios A,B,C and recommended option for Scenarios D, E ,F.I see that usage of "References Document" is OOTB restricted to documents under the type "Reference Documents", but this could be overridden by a preference.FYI. We are in WC 11.0 are getting close to working part centric.Thanks!Hari

Hello PTC Community,I recently created a 3 parameter Weibull plot. I understand the basics of 2 paramater vs. 3 parameter and time shifting using γ (gamma).If you look at the 3-parameter Weibull plot below, the curved line is the unshifted data. My question for everyone is, what is that line? If you plot the unshifted data using 2-parameters, the line looks straight. However, when you plot it using a 3-parameters, then we see a curved unshifted line. Hi Gurus, Can you tell me how I can set the default values for the OOTB WTPart attributes (Standard or Configurable, Create as End Item, Assembly Mode, etc.)? I thought this could be done with an OIR or by setting the default value in the resource bundles but it doesn't seem to be working. Hi all,We have our internet gateway for all the access of several inhouse applications that can run on a browser.Windchill is one of them. We use PDMLink 10.2But the strange thing is that the login screen is not presented in WGM and DTI, because of the authentication requested by the internet gateway before the client can hit the windchill server.Has anyone faced these kind of issues?Best RegardsHari

Hi all,Is there any mechanism that allows suppliers to get access to only "Supplier" contexts and nothing else in Windchill?The purpose is to allow access to only "Vendor Parts" that is tagged to the supplier. This is needed to share "Released" Parts, documents, drawings and the necessary information to manufacture the part  , this may vary between suppliers.Thanks & RegardsHari

Is there any way to open PDF's directly into a PDF viewer (like Adobe/Acrobat Reader) instead of Creo View when using the Windchill search results? Creo View opens the PDF with Acrobat Reader embedded within Creo View which has caused software compatibility issues as Acrobat Reader continues to be updated. Then we're left updating Creo View to work with the latest until Acrobat Reader gets updated again. This has happened twice in the last year and packaging software through our IT can take several weeks/months. I'd like to get out of the annoying compatibility cycle and just open the PDF directly without Creo View. I have seen no advantage to opening PDF's in Creo View yet with disadvantages including having less screen space to view the drawing and software compatibility issues. Creo View works pretty well for 3D but has no real use when looking at PDFs.We're using Windchill 10.1 M040 currently but are hoping to go to Windchill 11 later this year if there's a solution in a later vers

Recently we acquired a company that had a large amount of Intralink 3.4 data and now I am tasked with trying to ingest it all into one platform which is our production Windchill 10.2 environment with oracle back end DB. Due to the physical server hosting the Intralink 3.4 instances being at a remote facility, we have installed on a separate workstation Wildfire 2.0/Intralink 3.4 to try and connect over the wire to the common space files stored on the off-prem server. Utilizing a known good username and password this is the error we are receiving on the client side: PDMc_GenericDatabase::LoadActnCodeAndActnNameMaps when trying to login to the off-prem 3.4 intralink server.we have also turned off:1. all antivirus software.2. Windows firewalls3. Ping times between each are stable and consistant4. no ports are being blocked on the networking side outbound or inbound.Thanks in advance,Frank

I have a report that is returning WTDocuments, Derived Images and Application Data related to that Derived Image.  So report shows all WTDocuments. If there is a derived image linked to that WTDoc, report its ID and report the application data that is link to that Derived Image.  What should return is three IDs and in cases where there is not a derived image for the WTDoc, those columns would be empty.  This is a classic SQL outer join case. What I am getting in cases where there is a derived image and application data, is a row that shows the document and the derived image but application data is null followed by another row were all three are filled in. How can I eliminate the prior case where application data is null?Above you can see the objects and outer joins. I have derived image outer joined to document and application data outer joined to derived image.  I have tried it multiple ways and it seems to only show records where all three exist. I have created one custom table in details page of Document.The data in table must be as follows-1.  1st column should fetch the values of multi-valued attribute of the Document. This values should be displayed in different Rows one by one.
