3D Part & Assembly Design

Hello everyone,I am encountering an issue with importing JT files into Creo Parametric 7.0.12.0 (also tested in Creo 11) that specifically affects parts. During the import process, hyphens ("-") in part names are automatically replaced with underscores ("_"). Interestingly, this behavior does not occur with assemblies and sub-assemblies, where hyphens are retained (please see attached images).Is there a way to disable or modify this behavior so that hyphens in part names are preserved? Perhaps a hidden option in the configuration files (config.pro) or any other solution that someone might know?Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance!Kurt

When creating the first view of a flat pattern part, the overall (outside) dimensions and the bend angle (that’s a note, not a dim) will automatically show on the flat part.It was working but one day stopped working.How can I get that feature working again?Is there a config.pro option for that?I can still show the dims with “show model annotation” command.Creo Parametric 8.0.2.0

A weld symbol on a drawing specifies all around but it needs to be changed. The weld symbol was created in older version of Creo (4.0 or Wildfire 5.0) but where is this option located so it can be removed.. What is being overlooked?

The color displayed in Creo is inconsistent with the color when exporting STP and other files using UG, especially when opening with Creo. I have checked the "Appearance and Layer" option during export, but tried many methods but it was not effective. This is very troublesome for me. If you know how to solve this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have some old custom symbols that I have used throughout the years. Did something change in Creo 9 as to how the parameters are edited/filled in? If I load the template custom symbol, I do not get the various parameters to fill in (or at least I am not aware of their presence). When I copy and paste a custom symbol from another drawing to a new drawing, I cannot find a way to edit the value of the parameter. When I go to redefine, this is the name of the parameter shown.   \fillet_leg1_OS\x\fillet_leg2_OS\ value on old: 4X EQ        

Hello, we have a problem in a company with workflow using PTC Creo and Windchill.In attached assembly there is a mechanism of a theoretical machine. We want to be able to check for collision in different configurations during design process in different machine configurations. So we've created snapshots of those mechanisms using mechanical constratraints and checked in whole assembly. Since than there is no possibility to move with any parts at all. We can't activate any of snapshots while it's not checked out or continued. We need have to move mechanism during design process while it's checked in. For example we create new tool that will hang on paralelogram and during design process there is a huge need to always check if there are collisions and stuff around for safety purpose. Why we don't wont to use continue options and check out. those model are in it's final state and there are no changes needed to apply to them so data has to stay in it's initial shape before checkin

I have a multi-sheet assembly drawing where I have several projected views on one sheet and an exploded view on another sheet. The projected view balloons are driven off one repeat region and the exploded view balloons are driven off a second repeat region. Everything works fine but I find it incredibly annoying and extremely time consuming that I need to pick the repeat region before I pick and place the balloon when more than one repeat region exists in the drawing. Is there a way to set the default repeat region for balloons so it doesn't continue to ask you to pick the repeat region each time?

Creo Parametric 10 introduced a new collector in the sketcher that requires an extra step to complete the function.Users must now click the tiny check-mark in a floating menu bar or all collected references are lost for Project, Offset, etc.If the user clicks anything else before clicking the check-mark, all references are lost.I have lost so much productivity due to this change, and several others have complained about the same issue.It would ease the adoption of this new step if there were a warning, such as "Are you sure you want to quit?" instead of just deleting all of my work. PTC, please add a quit warning to the new sketcher reference collector so work and productivity is not lost.

Hello, I am trying to export a model so that it will be shown correct in a web 3D viewer tool. This marketing tool is called "Spline.Design" and opens the possibility to show a 3D Model on a website like other tools can do too - nothing special.  The formats GLTF, STL, FBX, OBJ are possible to import / use with the tool. Unfortunately the colors which I can see in creo will not be shown in this web tool. I want to understand if this is a problem of the tool or my process by exporting the model to one of those formats. To exclude one half of the possibilities I would like to show you my export process so you could inspect the process / steps. I am exporting assemblies (.asm): - File - Save as - Save copy- The "save copy" window opens.- I define a new file name and choose the right type, in this case wavefront (.obj)- the wavefront export settings I dont change:- the wavefront export window opens. Hi, I'm a young mechanical engineering student and at my school we use Creo. I would like to know if in the "manufacturing" module it is possible to add "holding tabs" between the blank and the part to be machined (as it is possible to do in Fusion360). I use a very basic 3-axis CNC machine.   Thanks in advance for any help! PS : i'm a beginer, so don't hesitate to correct me if i use wrong words !

how do I set the units of a drawing to display mm regardless of the units set in a part model.i.e. Part model is in inch units but I want the drawing to display in mm.    

I'm troubleshooting some unexpected behaviour with frameworks. My company works in metric, but the steel profiles we use are imperial. Building a weldment with plates and beams, I usually make the plates in our metric template and the beams through whatever frameworks uses to generate the parts. There are no problems until I make the drawing and detail the parts. The plates show metric dimensions just fine, but the beams show imperial values with no unit indication. In the picture attached, the R18.4 and R20.44 should actually be R467.36 and R519.176. Am I missing some settings that would correct this?

Hi In my drawing i have place 3 types of view with different different scales and I deleted the default scale note but now i need to create a new scale note for each views again. Suggest me with a best way to create that note again easily.  Ramaniedharan R  

HiA pros vs cons question... do people find the built in rendering functionality better than 3rd party apps like Keyshot? I'm restarting animating a model in Parametric, and watching lots of videos, but then I see some people still discussing questions on how to export mechanics to apps like Keyshot. Is the animation rendering in Creo Parametric more difficult / longer to complete / not as sophisticated / etc in comparison? Should I not bother trying to learn Creo Parametric animation rendering and instead export to Blender or Keyshot and do there? I know Blender is free, and I don't have a Keyshot licence. I have just updated my software to Parametric v11 (educational licence). Thanks

So I have had this issue randomly for some time now.  It has persisted from Creo 2 M060 to the M200 release I am currently running, even persisting across multiple computers.   In rare instances (could be a part drawing, could be assembly drawing)  then the model is altered the drawing does not update the views.   No amount of regeneration updates the views.  So far the only consistent way I found to get the views to update was to rename the views (and then rename them back).  That sort of works but it means that every single drawing view (incl. detail and section) has to be renamed and renamed back to verify that the changes in the part/assembly show up on the drawing.  It really is strange, and no one here has been able to figure it out.  any ideas?thanksGreg

Hello,   CREO allows symbol CZ (Common/Combinated Zone) in tolerance box:     But it doesn't recognize SZ (Single/Separated Zone) symbol:     Both are in ISO 5458:2018 specification.    How can it be fixed please?   Thank you
