Hi. What do the different domain icon colors mean? I've noticed after meshing they can change from the bluish color they normally are. I know I've at least seen green (pictured here) and gray. For the model I'm currently working on, the green icon domains do not let me view any properties (e.g., temperature). Thanks. It would be really nice if there was a place to look up all this stuff that's not explained in help.   

I’m trying to run an FEA on a fixed support beam, I replaced all the bolts with “intelligent fasteners”. I keep getting the “cannot process highlighted contacting surface” error  

Hello, I am trying to re-flatten a wire harness for a manufacturing drawing that I have been working on but I am getting an error that reads "Cannot load drawing template. Please ensure drawing templates are saved on the first sheet". The template I am using only has one sheet, so it is saved on the first sheet. In the past, the only way I have been able to get around this error message is to create a new drawing entirely. How do I avoid this error? This error occurs in the Creo Harness Manufacturing Extension.      

Hi,  After the successful run of my Creo Simulate Solver, I now get an error window, that tells me, that "the output file of the solver is damaged on line #68". Please find the error attached (it's in German).  Does anyone have an idea, how to avoid this happening?    Thanks.    Greetings Tim       

Hello,  I'm trying to perform an air flow simulation on a part that I imported. I used the import doctor to try to fix the geometry and create a solid. But running the simulation, I think it isn't actually doing anything. It appears as a solid body that's why I thought it would work but apparently no.   

I want to give skip weld in Creo. If it's solid, then pattern approach will be there. But when it comes to shell perimeter weld. What will be the best and easiest way? My approach is: Creating surface regions and for the small surface edges I will create Perimeter weld, Where this process is tedious to do. Could someone help me with the easiest way.

Hi guys,   Im just wondering if it is possible to get result of overall volume of interfered parts. I have a really complicated assembly and measuring air volume in the closed housing. Some parts are fully in the housing but some are not. So instead of using multi body features I want to I know if there is another option to measure it.  Thanks 

When adding parameter(s) to a part for COMPARATIVE_TRACKING_INDEX.  Demo showed adding value to be applied to a feature.  System allows selection of SURFACE, QUILT, BODY etc. Is the system set-up to use these element types (How ? ) - I have had zero success when trying to add anything BUT a surface.With a complex part file that simplifies a supplier assembly or design concept I have encountered the need to add over 20 surfaces, what would be the best technique to simplify selections, (e.g.; can a quilt be created and used? ).

Hello,  I'm having this strange problem that when I run transient simulations with point measures, the results show a flat '0C' over the entire time period. The initial temperature is well below that, so it can't be that the temperature just never changes. One of my points actually does give me good results, but I can't find any difference between the way any of them are set up other than them being on the surfaces of different components. I've tried remaking the assembly file from scratch, in case it's a surface vs. volume meshing style error I changed the points to all be on surfaces instead of internal (at first, the point that worked was the only one on a surface), and adjusting the mesh density.  Does anyone know what would make point measure results turn out empty?I'm using Creo Parametric 7.0.3.0. Thanks, Jocelyn  

I'm attempting a study of a Macpherson strut and struggling to figure out how to input the damping characteristics.  I have the Creo Mechanism dynamics option but as far as I can tell the damping coefficient would be the same in both compression and rebound.  I'm wondering if there is a better way to represent the damper.  Anyone have experience with this?     

I am using the Creo Harness Manufacturing Extension to create a wire harness manufacturing drawing. I am trying to populate the cavity tables for each connector with terminal and seal names. I am under the assumption that HMX pulls terminal names from a terminator table. I tried to import a terminator table into Creo Schematics from a csv file that I created but I am getting an error that reads "Failed reading file terminatortable.csv, line 1 is invalid." I created the csv file by exporting a sample terminator table text file from PTC into a csv file. Shown below is a screenshot of the csv file I tried to import. Help would be much appreciated!   

What is the right way to represent spot weld in Creo/ Example please

I'm using Creo Simulate, version 4.0 I'm trying to run a structural simulation on a model that has rubber isolation mounts in it. Normally, I would represent the rubber components with linear springs but I don't have any information on the mounts in this case. I know these are non-linear but there is usually a region of the load deflection curve that is nearly linear so approximating with springs has worked okay for me. Without a load/deflection curve I'm considering modeling the rubber part and defining a Hyperelastic material. However, I have no idea what to use for the constants. Neo-Hookean needs C10 and D1 and Mooney-Rivlin needs C10, C01 and D1. These parts are made fo 45 durometer natural or Butyl rubber. Does anyone know a source for this kind of information?

Hello - I am using the Creo Tolerance Analysis Extension with Creo 6.0.  How do you select a true position callout to be included in an analysis? Per the reference guide this is possible, but I cannot find any tutorials or instructions on how to do this.  I have spent 2 hours on several scenarios within Creo but I am never able to select the true position callout to be include in the analysis. 

Hello, I'm new into creo simulate LDA and i want to know how if there is any good practices using this feature.When I was trying to set analysis it wasn't converging at all but using a small bit other boundary conditions it was converging in 15minutes. Every and each time model was stable and doesn't have to have problems with convergence. I even connected each part to another using simple springs with small stifness. Material is linear. Are there any good practices how to model for LDA?

I have created a fastener in an assembly and ran the static analysis. If we do beam or spring approach we get the Shear in Plane 1 and Plane 2. But here shear force on the fastener is only one value. How to understand this ?
