Adepters:Starting Monday, several of our users are reporting a problem wherein Arbortext Editor won't start. A Windows message pops up that "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." At this point the user has to do a repair install.These users are probably all XP users and we're all on AE 5.4 patch M050. The culprit seems to be an automatic Windows update, although I can't prove. Just wondering if anyone else on the list has had this problem?Dave HintzSiemens

Does anyone have any experience using the programming interface for IsoDraw? I'm curious what the possibilities are and whether there is anything more common that it could be compared to. Any input would be appreciated.

We're still playing (sic) with the 40051-2A (style sheets for the -1A electronic TMs are a later task) style sheets. What we're having a problem with is getting a graphic to rotate if it is too wide to fit in portrait mode. We're not trying to rotate the page set, just the graphic. One potential problem we've had is that the 40051 DTD dropped the 'rotation' attribute from <graphic> in late 2003. We've reinstated it for testing but it still not recognized by the FO. Anyone who isn't still overly stuffed from Thanksgiving have any words of wisdom? ThanksLynn

Has anyone had this problem? Whenever I double-click on a text element to edit it, the text highlights as it should, but when I type in new text, the highlight disappears and the new text is added to the existing text instead of replacing it. I have to click and drag to re-highlight the already highlighted text (which is not an exact science - if you miss the begining of the text by a micron, it jumps out of that text element and attempts to create a new one) in order to replace the existing text. This is fairly new behavior that seems to have started spontaneously.

Can anyone tell me if the "peaxis2" application (supporting the "PEWebService") deployed as part of Arbortext PE Server (5.4) is used internally by the PE server? We're also using a Windchill adapter for storing content, employing Visualization Services CADworkers. I basically want to know if it's "safe" to disable this ("peaxis2") application that appears to have been enabled "out of the box", given that we're not employing custom SOAP apps to interact with PE.The larger goal is to secure the PE Server in a corporate environment; I'd rather "turn off" any unused entry points rather than securing them.Looking into this task, it appears there are several applications / services we could remove or disable:The Tomcat applications:managerhost-managerdocsexamplesI think I can do that by cleaning out the "webapps" directory and removing the corresponding app .xml files in "conf/Catalina/localhost".PE apparently also deploys an instance of "axis2" software (as a WAR file from within the "e3"

Is there a way to tell, within a macro, which pens are from the preference file and which are from the file itself?More detail:We import files from Illustrator and come across such wonder pens such as "0.09-1". I would like to cycle through these, but skip the pens that are defined by the preference file. I would like, if at all possible, not to have to do checks to make sure that I'm not cycling through normal pens. Any ideas?

I would like to find a way to represent a as something visible. Itcould be the background colored, glyph, or something else. I want it to be avisible only in the Editor.d

Hi,Arbortext is stripping the / from empty elements when I load them, e.g.<header:metadata-item name="create-date" value="20100920"/"> becomes<header:metadata-item name="create-date" value="20100920">so the document isn't even well formed any more. However, Arbortext still gives it a clean bill of health (no completeness errors). Can someone please point me at the setting in Prefs that fixes this - none of my colleagues is having this issue.Thanks.

Hi All, I am developing XUI type window using Arbortext.In this type of window, one combo box is one of the key item. My requirement is "apart from dropdown list, combo box should be editable".So, I changed the type attribute to "dropdown". Now it is editable, but i am unable to get the edited value.I found no such function in ACL to get that value. Is there any workaround or solution for this.Can any one help me? Thanks,Subbu

Hello all,We have a testingmemberswho uses SharePoint to store some test XML files. Our default XML editor is ArborText and it is configured to open any XML file (default application). However when I checkout a file from SharePoint it does not open the XML file for editing. Also when ArborText is closed and if I checkout the file, then ArborText application is opened but it does not open the file. I am getting a message that the file does not exist.Is there a way to make ArborText to edit files from SharePoint? If not then I might have to move XML files to a directory of some network location. Hope someone here can help.Just had a file through a couple of errors, because the @key values were "invalid". Turns out, they were too long. What?!?Anything over 72 characters causes the error. I'm hoping there's a setting we can 'set' to override this. That seems ridiculously short, when XML standards place no limit on an attribute's size. And I didn't find anything in searching the help(less) files. I have built a Java servlet, running in Tomcat 7 which reads an XML instance from a third party repository and sends a publishing request (PDF) to a PE SErver (v. 5.4). The PDF is streamed back to the client browser. This part is working just fine, what I can't figure out is how to send the graphics which are linked in the instance via an 'image' element with a URL attribute. I have tried writing the graphics to the file-system and re-linking them in teh servlet, but this didn't work. I have opened the resulting XML instance in Arbortext Editor 5.4 and published it successfully with graphics on the PE server. It seems that I'm missing something in passing the graphics or correctly linking them for transmission to the PE server. Has anyone had any success doing this?

This forum has been such a help to me implementing MIL-STD 40051C using Arbortext Editor 5.3 and Print Composer, I thought I would share a bug I found. I kept gettting errors with parsing of the v1.7 LOGSA XSL-FO when trying to use Print Composer but only in certain directories. I narrowed it down to my placement of a % sign in the folder name which of course ended up in the full path name when SAX would try to parse, throwing the error. So, if you run into this same problem, just remove the special character(s) from your directory structure and you should be able to generate a print preview.

Hi All,Recently we installed IsoDraw 7.1. I can see some clarity of art difference between this version and the older ones(7.0 Version). When you Zoom very deep the clarity goes to the poor. when the art is fitted into the window also, the clarity is not upto the mark. I have checked with the settings, but no faults can be found in our side. we tried reinstalling also, but it does not works. Is this thing happening in all 7.1 version's? How to avoid these kind of issues.Please help me in this regard,Without clarity i feel bad to work on it.Thanks n advance.Velu
