We are currently on Wildfire 3.0. Once we upgrade to Windchill 10.0 we wil also upgrade ProE. Does anyone have any thoughts on going to Creo 2.0 or Creo Wildfire 5.0.Our biggest concern is that the GUI changes coming from Wildfire 3.0 to Creo 2.0 will be quite significant and that the users will have a tough time with the transition.ThanksDavid

I'm trying to set up a procedure for exporting a pcb assembly from ProE for importing into Mentor PADS. I can get everything to show in the .emn file including the .PLACEMENT info, but the problem is that when PADS tries to import it, the names don't match up and it doesn't import the part location info. PADS identifies a part using a "decal name" (like ABC123) and a "part name" (like XYZ098), so when it exports an .emn the result is:.PLACEMENTABC123 XYZ098 J1 (reference designator)x-pos y-pos z-pos rotation top/bottom place/unplace.END_PLACEMENTHowever when ProE exports the .emn the file is:.PLACEMENTXYZ098 XYZ098 NOREFDESx-pos y-pos z-pos rotation top/bottom place/unplace.END_PLACEMENTI've tried all sorts of things under the part's parameters to try and get ABC123 to show up in the .emn export but no luck.Does anyone know how to get this to work? Or where the .emn gets the placement info from?I manually updated the .emn file to put ABC123 into the correct spot but PADS rejected it as

Hi,Have any of you seen Creo output a save-as jpg that incorrectly contains multiple screenshots?With Creo 1.0 M020, I routinelyperform a save-as .jpg for screen captures. After moving to Creo from WF I have a problem with the exported jpg image. I usually save B size images at 300 dpi but Creo exports a image that shows multiple screen shots within the same image. For example, if I have a model of a single bolt on my screen and press save-as jpg, when I open the image, there is a picture of 2 bolts.Thanks in advance,Jeff

I've posted this in a couple of areas, including CS and Ideas.Problem is the extra space character in detail view callouts and section view callouts.I don't know if this was always this way and I just hadn't noticed it, or if it was accidentally introduced recently.Now that I know about it my OCD kicked in and "I MUST SAVE THE WORLD!" by ridding every detail and section view of superfluous spaces.Please tell me your version of Pro/E, WF, or Creo doesn't behave this way...

The help, at least how it shows for me, is slightly off. You need not use the "[" or "]". Hello,I got some stl files from the software guys at my company. When I tried to open them in Creo they would not display in the file open window, even when I selected all files. I have been told that Creo will only display files it can open, which in my opinion is silly. When you select all files you should actually get to see all the files. Anyway, I then used blender to open the .stl and it works fine. I exported it with blender as a new .stl with a different name and tried to use Creo to open that file. This time it does show it as an .stl file but when I open it I get the message 'Could not read STL file.' I tried exporting it as ascii as well, but no change.Anyone have any ideas? The .stl format is pretty standardized I can not understand why a free program like blender can open the file and my powerful ProE program can't. Attached is one of the stl files. I'm really struggling with this issue. Does anyone know how to create a nice, visually pleasing möbius strip in Creo Schools addition? I am running into serious issues with help files being way to far out of date.I am reading things that are clearly wildfire terminology and simply cannot find the Creo ribbon equivalent no matter what I try.Is there an active group within PTC that shows a level of urgency on fixing the Help files?I have the same issue with context sensitive help. Most often, when hovering, the context sensitive help just goes off on a tangent.On the bright side, I found this... a color map for the classic interface when looking for pen table information. This one never even got updated to WF!This is, after all, a critical UI component of the platform. How could this ever pass quality protocols.

Hi,I'm working on my Creo Parametric 2.0 startup script. M010, WIN 7 x64.My plan is to launch parametric.exe, which loads parametric.psf. In the PSF, I RUN my BAT file to standardize.Any drawbacks you can think of.For Pro/E I run a BAT, which standardizes, then calls proe.exe, so this is a little different than that, which makes me ask the question.The advantage I found is, this allows users to PIN parametric.exe to the taskbar and retain a Start In directory.BTW, is there an ENV VAR for the start-in directory?Thanks!-Vaughn

Running WF5 M140, I cannot seem to create a visible 3D notation, yet dimensions work fine. I create and place the note (flat to screen or otherwise), it shows up in the model tree as shown and not hidden, but does not appear in the model in any set orientation. I have annotation datums visible, display_annoation set to yes by default, and visible_annotations_scope set to all. The notation doesn't even highlight in the model when I select it in the model tree.Anyone know what I might be missing?
