ModelCHECK should be able to limit subcomponents in an assembly from being saved based on parameters. This is extremely helpful when considering IDX files because ECAD parts (ex. capacitors/resistors) that don’t have existing 3D models get imported with the “ECAD_PART_PARAM” set to “ELECTRICAL”. By refusing check-ins for these parts, we can insure that new geometry from the ECAD software is imported each time.
Creo 9, Centerline & Hidden line looks very small, how to change settings to get proper line spacing
Dear AllI'm looking for a method to make two parts move symmetrically . I know it's possible to do it in SOLIDWORKS but I don't find the way to do it with CREO.Many thanks for your helpO.Pavot
I’ve been trying to make a spiral tool path that starts on the OD of a part and winds inward until it reaches a step in the part where I would like the toolpath to make a finish circle around the step.I’ve come very close by using edge of a curve by equation and a sketched diameter, but for whatever reason, Creo seems to want to retract before it is done. Ideally it would stop and start within the tooth area. This is a 40” diameter part with the step on the outside being .017” +/-.001, so I am trying to get the best finish I can on this surface. I am thinking this will be around 20 windings as it works its way to the center diameter.I don’t really like the result of cutline or volume milling. I’m not sure why trajectory isn’t working exactly as I see it should either. Maybe if the whole path could be created by a curve by equation it would?
HiI am on Creo 10.0.1.0While features such as Holes, Rounds, Chamfers etc can be grouped using query in Layers, wondering if the same can be done in the “Design Tree”.Filtering the design tree and dragging and dropping the features into the custom group is a manual process which we would like to avoid. The reason being, every time a new feature such as a round is added, it would not become a part of the custom group, without a manual intervention.Help documentation is silent on this aspect.I am aware that this can be done through layers. Thanks in advance.
I know that striking through notes has been a topic of discussion in the community before, but after being annoyed by having to manually draw lines through text for the last year, I spent some time creating custom TrueType font files that include strikethrough directly (because I couldn’t find any strikethrough font files out on the internet that I trusted). So if anyone happens to be using Arial, Century Gothic, or Times as their main drawing fonts, then feel free to download these TrueType font files for your own use.
I had a very difficult time finding a solution for this. I opened a call and PTC said Windows 10 wasn't a supported configuration. Fortunately a curious co-worker discovered the fix. Not having zoom with the scroll wheel was a show stopper for me. Here's how to make it work as before: 1. Select the Start button 2. Type "mouse & t" in the search area and press Enter 3. In the Mouse & touchpad settings dialog select the toggle for Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them until it displays Off. 4. Launch Creo Parametric and marvel at mouse wheel zooming
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) 8.0 8.0.0.0Hello I can't see the "Insert Here" bar in the Creo 8.0.0.0I attached capture files. Could you check it?Thanks
Has anybody managed some sort of shortcut/mapkey for this yet? I'm taking about quickly opening a drawing of same name when the model is on screen, the way you can open a model by right clicking in the drawings model tree . .
Hi,Do we have a video which shows the procedure on how to work with Creo schematics multi sheet capabilities. I am not comfortablw with the regular documentation available.TIANaresh
I’m trying to express the solution in mmHg as a unit for pressure. Is there any way to do this?
HI guysis there a way to peck tap a hole. Had a look in parameters but can't see anything. Do I have to have more than one tapping sequence at varying depths.thanks for any helpmickThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hello,I just started using MathCAD Prime 3.0 and stumbled upon a problem. I can't find a solution to that online.I have a question about this screenshot:Why appending a result to a variable makes the operation impossible (1st and 2nd columns)? Why showing the value of a variable makes the next operation impossible (1st and 3rd columns)?Thank you. (I hope this post is in compliance with the policy)
I’m using MathCAD Prime 9.0.0.0 and I’m running into a units error…All of the R units should be K/W, but I’m getting crazy units especially on Rmid. I attached my program as well as lecture notes that show how to do this. Look on page 44-45. Thanks, Brent
For whatever reason, Creo does not offer the ability to set a default clearance distance per machine. I do not always remember all the travels on our machines and would like to set default clearance values to solve that issue.I basically want to set a relation that states:IF work cell = "insert machine name"clearance = XX.XXHowever to do this, I need to know the parameter names to pull for the work center and the clearance, and I do not know them. Does anyone know what those parameters are, or know a better way to do this?
several ways to go about this and i’m struggling to find the ideal method Create external sketch place hole on sketch and choose end points/midpoints/etc Place a fastener in hole (standard coincident/mate) Reference pattern doesn’t work Create sketch INSIDE of the hole tool sketch my shape place fastener reference pattern doesn’t work Create an external sketch sketch using datum points Place hole on point pattern by on point Place fastener in hole and pattern by On Point Choose the previous points to pattern by This works! Create a sketch inside of hole tool sketch with lines and place datum points on end points holes are created reference pattern and point pattern doesn’t work Am i missing something here?if i want to reference fasteners in the holes i placed while using a sketched pattern i need to:create an external sketch place datum points on sketch end points(or mid points or whatever) pattern by on point(which is my selecting a point pattern
I'm working in Creo Parametric version 11.0.1.0. When in sketch mode and selecting entities for adding dimensions, I hover over the entity until it highlights, but when I click the entity often does not get selected. I thought there might be a config parameter that affects the sensitivity of sketch entity selection, but I wasn't able to identify one.
Most times when typing a mapkey it will just execute as expected about 5% of the time (or less) it shows up in the search bar and the communication box tells me that this group of characters is a mapkey (duh….). Am I accidentally pressing something that brings me into the search bar from the keyboard instead of just executing the mapkey? Mildly annoyed.
Hi,Can someone help me with this query related to sheetmetal nesting in Creo. Can we add the 3D sheetmetal model directly to nesting software i.e NC sheetmetal extension & get the setup made automatically? If so please let me know the procedure. Thanks in AdvanceNaresh
I wish I had found a list like this a few years ago. I've searched the web and compiled the following list for your enjoyment. Many are probably considered basic with a few very cool, complex curves thrown in. The list is divided into the coordinate systems that you will have to choose when creating the datum curve. To initiate the command that will allow you to try these, go to Insert>Model Datum>Curve>From Equation. After the Equations section see the section title Links to find PlanetPTC discussions and videos that have demonstrated and, in some cases, explained the curve from equation command in more detail with ways to incorporate relations and parameters. Attached is a Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 part file with all of the equations included. In the comments, please share any equations or links that you know. Other suggestions are welcome, too.EQUATIONSCartesian Coordinates: x, y, & zThe z variable is not necessary, but when used will give
Hello.Whenever I need to upload a step file to my Creo assembly, the conversion erases several surfaces of the assembly/part inside the step file. I do the same conversion in other 3D software and everything is alright, therefore I believe the issues is not in the step file itself.I was wondering if any of you has the same issue where surfaces don’t appear. Sometimes it’s so bad that critical parts do not appear. If anyone knows how to solve this or has some suggestion to get around, I appreciate the help. Thanks!
hello experts can some one advice how to Add / auto insert NCL_file_name in to Gcode as seq name when post processing the CL file to generate G-code? see pic to understand regards fisa
I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.0.0 Hello PTC Support Team, We need your guidance regarding Persistent UUID support in Creo and STEP 242 export. Our requirement is to generate STEP 242 files containing persistent UUIDs for Digital Thread implementation. We have the following questions: How can we create Creo CAD models with persistent UUIDs? Are there any specific settings or configurations required in Creo? How can we export Creo models to STEP 242 while preserving all UUIDs? Which STEP AP242 version is recommended for UUID support? For existing Creo CAD models, is there any way to add or generate persistent UUIDs without recreating the models? Is there any recommended method to verify that UUIDs are properly written into the STEP file? We already have many Creo CAD models, and our final goal is to assign UUIDs to them and generate STEP files that retain those UUIDs correctly. Please share any related documentation, sample files, or best practices that can he
Hi everyone,Does anyone knows how to delete or remove the system generated notes.I tired the APIs,ProDtlnoteRemove() - failingProDtlnoteDelete() - failingProDtlnoteErase() - erasing note until next regenerationthese above API are removing all the notes except the system generated note (for eg: scale 1:1, section x-x).
