When initially bringing a part into an assembly using "main Window" mode, but prior to placing the part, can you change the default incoming position relative to the assembly, maybe there is a config setting that allows the new part to appear in the current window, zoomed in to the spot you want to add the new assembly item? Why am I asking - On large assemblies, the new incoming part enters the assembly model very far from where I want to place it (way off screen).  It takes a lot of mouse work to drag it over to where it needs to be placed. Why am I not using the "Separate Window" mode in assembly? Because the separate window mode is quirky and difficult to use, in my opinion - parts almost always end up upside down or end up being unassembleable forcing one to use the main-window assembly mode.

Hi folks, Just a quick question from a relatively new user of Creo.With respect to the calculated mass properties, does anyone know which inertia tensor sign convention Creo uses? I've been told by some of my seniors that it's the negative inertia tensor, but does Creo specifically state that somewhere? Thanks!     

I have a assembly of two parts which are similar ,one part is the copy of the other.While adding dimensions to this assembly in the drawing very few edges highlight for dimensioning.The other edges which I have to dimension to neither highlight nor are select able.I am on PTC Creo Elements 5.0 M260.On customer end I have checked on PTC Creo Parametric 2.0 M190,the result is same.*Windows 10 Pro is the operating system.Thanks in advance for any helpful advice. *I do know PTC Creo Elements Pro 5.0 is not compatible with Windows 10 Pro,but it runs just fine. 

I am using Creo Schematics Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.0.0In Creo Schematics, when exporting sheets to PDF format and printing directly, all the labels are thin and non-arial bold. I'm Using default font called "font". Just upgraded from Creo 4.0 to Creo 7.0 and the thickness and font type that they export are different. In Creo 4.0 all text labels are Arial Font and bolded depending on label which is what I want. When I moved to Creo 7.0 all text labels are thin and in non-arial font no matter if you export PDF or Print Directly. Is there a configuration that I am missing? From what I have investigated myself all of the settings seem to be the same. Thanks

Something has happened to my proe wf3 installation.When I right click a part and then do < info - model> I just get a white window.The browser address listed is "proep://local_proesession?oid=6454.PRT&item=PART&id=6291484&action=info"but nothing appears.Is there a setting for this?

I have a table with a repeat region for a BOM with materials masses and COG information. The COG is being reported from the part level and is according to the part default CSY. We recently upgraded from Creo 6 to Creo 8.0.7.0.  The cabling option is missing on the Applications tab.  How do I get the cabling option activated in Creo 8.   Thanks  

If I have a Repeat Region BOM, when I place it on an assembly drawing it uses rpt.qty to tally all the quantities. I also have a unit column that is set to EA by default. In certain instances, I have a dumb part in my assembly with a hydraulic hose part number attached to it. But if I set my units to FT instead of EA and manually type in (8) in my quantity field in the part, the repeat region has no way of seeing this and since their is only one instance of it in my assembly, the Repeat Region BOM will say 1 ft? Is their a way I can tell the Repeat Region that when the Unit Column is not set to EA, that it needs to read the quantity from the part file. Which I already have set to 8?  

I have a cheat sheet of beam equation, all expressed as functions of variables such as w, P, l, etc. The challenge arises when I apply it to compute load combinations, as the beam equation becomes visually convoluted. A reviewer would only see a series of functions, necessitating them to backtrack through calculations to identify the specific function in use. An alternative is to redefine my input variables (w, P, l, etc.) and directly solve the beam formula without using functions, essentially copying the equation. However, this becomes cumbersome due to the need to clear variables for each subsequent equation. Is there a method to explicitly solve my functions and revert them to the original equation?   

I am using Creo Parametric Release 5.0 and Datecode5.0.5.0When I select gohome on Creo it ouputs G0 I need this to output G28 command is there a way to change that? I am currently using Option File Generator add on to modify post.

I want to create the sub-assembly from the main assembly which is available now.  I'm using Creo 7.0.4.0.I don't see any option to create the sub-assembly by selecting the components which i want to move to sub-assembly. Refer attached image.  Could you please suggest an efficient way to create the sub-assembly from the main assembly ?   

The disappearing cursor is being worked on, but now I have had another oddity come up in family table cells. The IT department has recommended that I check with PTC on this for possible RAM allocation error. The issues is that I had a MasterCAM logo show up in (2) of my family table cells. I would like the ability to create a best fit line, circle, or arc from datum points.  I frequently have to go back and forth from NX to CREO to get this functionality.  You should be able to select graphically, or by pointset feature and create a line, circle or arc and also know the average and max deviation.

As per the original post.    HI, i have the same problem here. if i use ProSolidFeatVisit() function to visit the assembly, how do i transfer between feature and modelitem? which value of ProSolidFeatVisit() function should be used? and do you mind share your code here, many thanks.

Hello Everyone, I have an issue with Creo regarding 2d drawing. I can create and do my 2d drawing without issue. BUT... when I want to re-open my 2d drawing, it does not open and complain that the PART (.prt) template is not in the same directory: Of course, my template is not in my working folder. The templates are on a shared folder. If I copy the template .prt to my folder, I can solve the issue on open it... but it's not really convenient. The goal was to have all template on a shared folder so everyone can access to it when creating a new file. Thank you for your help    

I have a step file assembly imported into creo and the drawing BOM table sees it as a part. I cannot seem to correct this with any methods I am familiar with.

Has anyone created the "easy" hole table that includes counterbore depths, counterbore diameters, countersink depths, countersink angles and complete thread callouts. Maybe a new .hol file that calls variables? Tried tying parameters to each one, but even for standard, non-threaded holes they have to exist somewhere. I need a self-contained file I can call in my prodetail or config.pro.   

Again I need help dealing with symbolic arithmetic in MC14. In the German mathematical school magazine "Alpha", issue 2/1993, I found reference to a strange sentence. In the limit towards 0 it concerns the ratio of the area of a curve segment to the area of a connected tangent triangle. Proving this theorem for special curves whose functional equation is known is not difficult. But the theorem applies to arbitrary, often continuously differentiable, curves. The associated proof in the original work involves a lot of writing work. I would like to understand this using the symbolic calculation in MC14. I have attached a “test file” for this purpose. Unfortunately my calculation fails because of the MC message that terms are becoming too large. Maybe I made mistakes too. But the calculation method is easy to describe. Hello! I am struggling a bit with the symbolic representation of some complex problems. Please, take a look at the attached file. How can I properly define complex function on form z=r*e^(i*phi)? Should I write z(r,phi)=r*e^(i*phi)? If I do so, then the symbolic evaluation of complex potentials (Phi and Psi) doesn't get along. Also, I am trying to use Re and Im functions to define the real and Imaginary parts of "z" without any success. The same goes to the conjugate of "z": it should be z*=r*e^(-i*phi).Hopefully somebody can help me out. UPDATE:I did some progress, but still can't define properly function "z" without Mathcad telling that some variable is undefined. Hi, I am using Creo 8.  I have added a skeleton in the assembly to show where certain sub-assemblies get installed in relation to the higher level assembly. The skeleton is hidden in the model. In the drawing, I can show the skeleton by:In the Drawing View dialog box select View Display Under Skeleton model display, select Show(Article - CS64364)I am able to set the display such that the skeleton is outlined as phantom, however, when export the drawing in PDF, the skeleton does not show in the drawing. The only way I have managed to show the skeleton in the PDF is by unhiding the skeleton in the model. Once I do that, the skeleton gets printed.  Is there a way where I can leave the skeleton hidden in the model, but show in the drawing AND exported/printed PDF?  Thanks!
