Running up against what might be a bug in the VB API when using Excel. This is simply trying to get the PTC-provided example listSubAssemblyComponent to function in Excel VBA rather than its original VB. I intended to make this the basis of code to extract the model tree into an Excel spreadsheet for internal engineering management purposes - old way we do this is to save the model tree from Creo, and import it into a spreadsheet via VBA macros, but I want a more streamlined way to do it. (This ain't necessarily it, and I'm open to better alternatives.)It appears to allocate something to currentPath (typing ?currentPath is Nothing in the immediate window returns false). But it hangs up every time on the line with currentPath.Leaf, returning the message:Run-time error '-2147352567 (80020009)': pfcExceptions::XToolkitGeneral ErrorI don't see any useful explanation of this error. I've fiddled around with everything I can think up on how to get around it, but I'm starting to believe it's a
Hello there, In the past, I had some trouble keeping eye on the syntax for some of config files for Creo. There are so many different config files, and each use their own syntax, and if you miss just one char Creo won’t load it. It was especially tiresome for me when I wanted to add IFX fasteners to the library with custom parameters and such. For a long time I had an idea to make a little software that can handle all the config options for Creo. I’ll be honest here, I’m not and expert programmer, I just know enough that I know my limits, so it is clearly made with AI. But a tool is just a tool for me, and I’ll be using it for my self, and if anyone interested, I’m open to sharing it for free.If you are interested what functions would you like to see in it? Would you be open to test it with me?
How do you activate the lattice feature, does it require an additional module?
I am using Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Release 20.4 and Datecode20.4.3.0 If one of these situations happen, sometimes the CREO turns-off/dissapears (the window dissapears, as well as the icon in the taskbar) and all the work that has been done and it is not saved is lost. As the Windchill is still running, this are the steps we have to do: 1. Close Windchill 2. Reopen Creo 3. Reopen Windchill 4. Reload the cad. This has a long time consumption, as well as making us lose the work done. This situation SOMETIMES happens when: 1. The laptop is disconnected from the screens 2. The laptop is disconnected from the docking 3. Laptop enters sleep mode or autohibernation Here are the errors that I faced No warning. Only the icon of the CREO in the keybar dissapears, as well as the CREO screen.
Just updated to CREO 12.4.3.0 and now rename_drawings_with_object is not working. When someone does “replace by new copy” in assembly mode, the drawing is not copied. It worked fine in previous version.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.4.0 Imported incremental IDX files (sent to Creo from Allegro PCB editor) remove the rounds/fillets around my board and any cutouts that I had previously. We need to accept the change to the board because the board thickness is changed, but this also forces us to accept the removed fillets and cutout. How do we fix this?
Hey,I want to make a mould cavity from the bottleBut when I perform the boolean operation I’m not getting a complete cavity, This below picture shows also bottle that I’m trying to make How to get a cavity on the extruded block?
I am using Creo Parametric 11.0.1.1 and facing an issue with dimensions created from assembly references. While creating a new part within an assembly, I use geometry from an existing housing as an external reference. I then create an offset from that referenced geometry to define the new part. The resulting geometry is created as a composite curve. When I create a radius dimension on an arc of this referenced composite curve, Creo creates it as a known dimension with the kd# prefix. This dimension cannot be retrieved in the drawing using Show Model Annotations.I tried changing the following configuration option:sketcher_known_dim_on_ref_ent noHowever, Creo does not retain the value as no. After I set it to no, it changes back to yes, and the dimensions continue to be created as known dimensions.I also tried recreating the dimension after changing the configuration option, but the result is the same. The selected geometry is identified as:Arc of Composite Curve (Reference)Could this be a
Hi everyone,I have a machine assembly that contains two different support frames, and each frame is made up of multiple individual parts. Is there a way to create a separate assembly or combine selected components into a single part so that I can choose only the frame parts I want to include in a 3D print?
How do I change the default units from inches to millimeters in Creo Parametric 10?
I have a model that i am trying to create drawing from using a template. I am running it through Sigmxim’s Smart assembly to do a bunch of things. This program has worked plenty of times before this but in the last 3-4 weeks in locks up and the only thing that i can find is that the xtop.exe doesn’t want to work anymore. But when i run the same model though other Smart assembly programs it creates the drawings that those programs as supposed to do. I think i t has to do with trying to recall data from a excel file and fill in a table with that data but i am unsure. I have let Creo sit for 2 hours waiting for it to kick in but it never does. (sometimes if you wait it works again even though it says not responding). i’ve created other models and have had other people try and create the drawings as well though the Smart assembly function but they get the same results I do, It just permamently hangs up.
Hello,With my current employer there is some “masking” at times of our internal part numbers. This is because certain customers may require our part number be translated to match their numbering system. The issue is that we are expected to maintain universal/internal part numbers for our assemblies but then at times provide a customer the same assembly and drawing using only the customer’s part numbers.I am aware it is possible to have Table Formats for each customer having a column declaring the respective customer’s number from the properties of the item, but I hope that there is some way to maintain a single drawing and assembly for translation of the assembly and BoM to reflect a customer’s numbering system dynamically. This will remove possibility of duplicate items and entropy with that scenario.I assume it would be best for a BoM to be adjusted outside of Creo systems, but then the assemblies themselves they would not properly identify themselves via customer part numbering. Is ther

In Creo Illustrate 3.0 M020, I unexpectedly get the following mouse pointer in the Figure Viewing Area:I dont know how I got it, but with this pointer visible, transforming parts/assemblies seems no longer possible.Any idea how I can get back the normal Selection mouse pointer? And does anyone know what the function is behind the mouse pointer above and how to use it?Thanks in advance.
I have purchased a key for Mathcad for an employee at my company. I purchased it with my computer. I am trying to get it set up on his and cannot find a product key anywhere on my end. There are dozens of codes and numbers but none that are titled "product key." Additionally, all support videos seem to be for older iterations of the website and do not help. Similar problem with the knowledgebase articles. Any help on setting my coworker up with Mathcad 12.0.0.0 Prime would be much appreciated. I can provide proof of purchase if need be.
Hi, I am trying to solve an ODE to model a “Ball and Cone” tuned mass damper. The equations simulate a ball mounted inside a pair of cones with mass on top. The ball oscillates up and down an inclined slope with a curved region at the apex between the up/down slopes. I am using Radau solver as it is a stiff equation. Adams/BDF “does not converge”. The 1st solve block uses a simplified simulation for base excitation of the TMD. Using Radau with modest levels of damping the first solve block result gives a discontinuous response which should not happen given the inclined slope is a tangent to the curved section at the apex. Any ideas how I can correct this discontinuity would be appreciated.I tried using sigmoid transition functions (2nd solve block) for the step between inclined slope and radius but this gives a large number error. The 3rd solve block includes an extra degree of freedom to simulate the tower on which the damper is mounted, which is the aim of the program. This won’t solv
Attached are two images of my solve block. The example in screenshot 192200 does not work. 🥴 I am trying to define functions to be used in the equation to be solved. The example in screenshot 192321 DOES WORK.😀 I have explicitly put the functions into the equation to be solved.NOTE: I cannot define the functions with the MATHCAD:= because I later use the solve block to compute a series of 𝛼 for a series of the parameters inside the Ans(….).Is my non working example simply not possible, or do I have some syntax or logic error? Thanks for any help.Reg
My group is trying to make a pointer annotation on a whole part inside of an assembly. Right now, only a specific feature on a part gets highlighted. Does anyone know how to highlight the entire part? I have attached a reference below.
Team,I need to automate this for sequential integer values of n.Any ideas anyone? Thanks,Glen
Is anyone using Visual Studio Code for Toolkit development rather than full blown Visual Studio? If so I would like to know how you configured VScode to use the Visual Studio Build Tools. Thanks.
Hello,Yesterday I upgraded from Creo 9.0.8.0 to Creo 12.4.3.0 and noticed an annoyance with the “Open File” and “Assemble Component” commands. The problem is that Creo 12, unlike Creo 9, keeps the last selected setting in the filter “Type”. In Creo 9, however, the default value would be a generic setting (e.g. *.prt, *.asm, .....).My question is: is there a way to restore this behavior so that it works like in Creo 9?I tried searching for a setting in the configuration but couldn't find anything. The only workaround I can think of is to create a set of macros to open and assemble the ones that preset the generic filter (*.prt, *.asm, etc.).Does anyone know of a solution or have noticed the same problem?Thank you
I am trying to run a program out of smart assembly and it gets about 260 lines into it and just freezes. It looks like the xtop.exe has stopped working. Even leaving the file alone to run for a bit it never comes back and i have to “Kill” the program and open back everything up to model again. It doesn’t get me an error code to follow up with. This program has been working just fine up until the last 2-3 weeks. I have run other drawing type programs out of the same model assembly and they work just fine. I am Running Creo 10.0 with Smart Assembly 10. Could this be an update that would be messing with this? Also i have tried to create this in both Windchill and from my “C” drive and i get the same issue. I have had other people try to create and they have the same issue as well.
I want Mathcad Prime 11.0.1.0 to solve a simple exponential integral and it returns a limit towards infinity no matter what kind of assumptions I give it. A negative exponential should always go to 0 for x towards infinity when tau is real and positive. If instead I substitue manually a new variable x the integral is solved correctly How can I convince Mathcad to do the same ?
Hi,I am looking for solution to setup custom Fasteners that i already have in windchill into IFX inside CREO, could anyone help me please?I have added an example below to elucidate the problem.1. Model tree of the custom Fasteners i already have in windchill database looks something like this. I want to be able to create a dat file that is accessible in Creo IFX which performs the normal functions, (like size selection based on Dia of Hole and length selection based on grip length, etc ) I am aware that i need to setup Catalog file and dat file for these custom fasteners. but not sure on how to be able to access the instances inside the family table of my custom fastener inside the dat file. The family table looks like this : How do i map these inside the Dat file ? i.e.Please do let me know if additional information is needed. Thanks !
