Hello, We recently changed the network in our organisation. The server holding licences for creo didn't change, it just change network. Although the server is up and we can ping it, people can't access their licenses. Here is the creo error message and the result of ptcstatus.bat on the user side. And here is the result of ptcstatus.bat on the server side :
I have a stencil that I'm adding to an assembly just to show it graphically and I want the weight of the part to be zero. Is there a way to assign a weight to a part that has the mass parameter locked?

In our company, creating raw materials lists for projects (like product A) is a time-consuming manual process. Our estimator has to go through every single part in a CAD model from Creo to figure out how much sheet metal, bars, and pipes we'll need. This is especially tedious for our low-volume, high-mix production. Is there a better way?Ideally, we did like to extract raw material dimensions (highlighted in red in the table below) directly from the Creo 3D model parameters. This seems like a common need for manufacturers – how are you all handling material estimation with Creo and Windchill? Looking to automate this process and free up our estimator's time for more valuable tasks. So far I have tried to fix Height/Diameter/Thickness column through Material Library(mtl file). Any insights or tips would be greatly appreciated!
I'm wotking on an FEA model and making geometry changes to address high stress area. Everything had been going smoothly, but I'm now getting a fatal error. The model meshes and all appears to be good, but it won't run. Below is the message in the *.err file. It seems to refer to a link and specific edges. It looks like a geometry problem, but I don't know how to find it. I don't know of a way to search for the link or edges by an ID number. There are no diagnostic messages when I generate the mesh. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Hi everyoneI was trying to use distributed batch to export form .drw to .pdf.I faced a problem that this symbol can't show up properly while using distributed batch featureHow it looks in .drwWhen I export in manually, one by one When I try to use distributed batch.Everything is ok except this one. Glad anyone can help me.Thanks in advance.
In Creo 3 i can create a "Stock Model" to get the remaining material after a NC Sequence. How can i set it as Real stock for next sequences? For example: first sequence is a Volume Roughing with a tool dia 20mmI would like to create a new volume using the same mill window but limiting it to the remaining material of first sequenceI don't want to use Roughing and Re-Roughing 😄I cannot replace the starting workpiece with his worked component of the familytable inside NCI can save Stock Model as prt or stl, why i cannot use it for example for further operations? Thanks a lotOsvaldo
Hi All,What I am trying to acheive is to create a text string and symbol to be used as an item from the sketcher palette. The scenario is this. I want be able to create sketch palette item which has a cavity number id reference # and the part number. However when I create the sketch for this and want to add text, it does not give me the option to add the parameter it only gives a text option. If I add the parameter name in the text box and save this to the sketcher palette. When I call up this sketch from the sketcher palette in a part, I do not get the part number from the parameter in the model, I just get the text ( &part_number).The part number is a parameter in my start part and subsequent modelled parts. The only way I can get this to work is to insert this sketch from the palette and then edit the inserted sketch by selecting the parameter. Is there a way to add the parameter to the sketch in the palette section, without the need to do a secondary edit. Any
On Parametric 10.0.3.0, I'm unable to retrieve a .prt file from Windchill which was previously checked in by another user (who is utilizing the same version/license etc) The first time I tried opening it - Creo crashed with a pop up from my graphics driver (not Creo) saying that the session had crashed (attached eventvwr log at the end) Any of the following times - I get a white screen as though its about to load but eventually I get the "cannot be retrieved" message I have tried by clearing the workspace and using a brand new workspace too - no progress there. Will also be trying to upload the prt file on my end using a local copy sent by the creator of that .prt file - shall update soon. Shall also update with the tip on opening the prt in a text editor as mentioned in this thread. It does open in Creo View without any hitches, so I cannot figure what's wrong! I am in the process of creating new Creo Parametric start parts and have a question. When these parts are used, when creating a new part, the New File Options dialog displays some parameters, but doesn't include all the parameters in the start part. What I am trying to figure out is how to determine which parameters are displayed and which ones are not. In the attachment, only about 25% of the total parameters are being displayed. My goal is to limit which parameters are shown and what order they are displayed in. I am using Creo Parametric 8.0.1.0
I received an email with the two license files attached but I am not sure why. Is it an update? I can't find PTCUPDATE.BAT on the server to install it. I don't even know if it is necessary.
I make big machines like Booms for heavy equipment. We use reference curves to plot relevant coordinates while drawing piece parts. The reference curves could be quite large. For example the boom could be 200 feet long in total, but I'm modeling something that is 6" X 6". When I go to draw the part, the whole curve area is represented, even though the curve is hidden in a layer, and I only use it as reference. It makes projection views very difficult because sliding left, right, up, down, for the next view creates the huge outline from the curve and makes me zoom out like 400X just to get the view to drop in the drawing. My question is. Does anyone know how to get rid of the curve reference so that my projection view only has a small margin around the view instead of 400X area?** just upgraded to Creo 9,
Hello, I am using Creo parametric educational/academic edition 10.0.1.0. When I go to File>Prepare>Model Properties I scroll down to the "detailing" section and see "Tolerancing standard" set to "ISO/DIN Medium" and "Tolerancing standard verison" set to "ISO 1101:2017". I would like to have this information in a drawing, so that the drawing updates if I set it to "coarse" for example. I am aware that it sets the tolerance table for general tolerances, and that I can use it to automatically display tolerances in a dimension in a view. Is there a way to include the values of theese model properties (tolerance class) in a note or repeat region? Or a way to read them into or from a model parameter? I have searched the forum, the reference and the web for answers but found nothing on the matter.

hello! can i work on creo 10.4 on one computer and then open the file to work on creo 10.1 and vice versa?
Hello everyone! I stumbled across a problem while duplicating my cavity assemblies in creo for the emx extension. When you get your mold manufacturing components in the emx application you have to duplicate the cavity but when I tried I get this message and don't know why. The question is what can I do know and how can I correct this? Is there another way to duplicate this? Maybe manually?

All Creo parts for an assembly are in the directory but won't open assembly correctly, says missing parts. When opening in Creo View all parts show up. Trying to create a STEP for file for our vendors. Any ideas here?
In cabling/schematics, we can show our pins in our BOM by referencing the connector port parameters, but is there any way to automatically bring other parts into our harness models or drawings, like wedgelocks, wire seals, etc. Thanks! I'm on Creo 9
I am trying to route a cable harness and it uses several of the same connector that are located next to each other. I keep running into the issue of Creo wanting to merge my location points of the two connectors that are placed next to each other. I designated them as two separate connectors with their own entry ports. Does anyone know what went wrong? How can I fix this so it allows for a separate wire to each connector and keep the network continuous? I am running Creo version 7. Thanks.

Good morning everyone, i'm using the java j-link kit asynchronously to automate some task of Creo Parametric 9.0.7.0 (Java11).Is it possible get the window of Creo Parametric and convert to an HWND in JNA? My purpose is to move the windows of Creo Parametric in the screen and later resize them, i haven't finded a way to get the pointer to inizialize the HWND. Here is a part of my code ("mainCreoApplication" is a class that contain asyncConn Obj, the session obj and the windows management): private static final User32 user32 = User32.INSTANCE;private void getHWND(){MainCreoApplication mainCreoApplication = null;try { mainCreoApplication = new MainCreoApplication();} catch (jxthrowable e) { throw new RuntimeException(e);}Pointer ptr = null;try { ptr = new Pointer(mainCreoApplication.getMyAsyncConn().GetSession().GetCurrentWindow().getptr()); } catch (jxthrowable e) { throw new RuntimeException(e);} HWND hwnd = new HWND(ptr); if (hwnd != null) { user32.MoveWindow(hwnd, 500, 500,1000
Hi Guys, Good Evening i want to disable the "File->Save" the "Save" Option through toolkit. if any one knows please help regardsAravind
Hello, I´m new on Creo, actually working with version 5. I came from Solidworks and I want to know the equivalent command to "exclude from bill of materials" / "envelope" on Creo. The idea is to use parts (or sub assemblies) that are not taken into account for the BOM, but serves as a reference to position some other components in the assembly. Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,I'm not very familiar with prt and asm quoting and I would like to ask you a question:commonly in a DRW it is possible to create a snap line associated with a geometric element on which to fix a dimension, is it possible to do this also with the dimensions created in prt and asm models?Thank youP.S. I'm using Creo 9.0.8.0
