Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi everyone,I'm not very familiar with prt and asm quoting and I would like to ask you a question:commonly in a DRW it is possible to create a snap line associated with a geometric element on which to fix a dimension, is it possible to do this also with the dimensions created in prt and asm models?Thank youP.S. Since this a very advanced (many will think unsupported) use case, I will start with I used this functionality for over a decade design space equipment for Lockheed Martin and United Launch Alliance. It definitely did work perfectly up until I stopped using commercial code with Creo 9.0. So, I'm pretty sure we're talking a bug here... and a very important one for my use case because all my designs start with CAE models that work for FEA and rigid-body analyses and then, once a concept is viable, I use those to drive production geometry. For the large vehicle models I do almost all of my upfront work is with curves and surfaces to represent ground and mechanism components AND support quick FEA using beams and shells. Nuff said for importance. If you retrieve "PD-TM05A_ASKEL01.ASM" as master rep you can hide and show layers and the status works just fine. The most pertinent layer is called "01-ALL_EXT_COPY_GEOMS". I just started using the creo drawings package (not impressed BTW)  and no where do I see the capabilities to add a chamfer dimension on a drawing.  Does Creo have this ability like Inventor/Solidworks/SolidEdge?Frank

Hello, I have a projected sketch that is on a flat surface parallel to the original sketch. However, when I use the extrude command I am unable to use my projected sketch as a sketch to extrude. Is there some trick to using projected sketches? It appears as if it's just a normal sketch but won't let me do anything with it.

Hello, I'm in Creo 10 trying to make an assembly drawing, where one part is a skeleton model / surface shrinkwrap of a more complex part. Other parts exist in this assembly and I want to make a section view. The problem is that the skeleton model lines are still visible behind the normal parts which makes the section cluttery and it is difficult to highlight the parts that I want to show. Is there some way to hide parts of the skeleton somehow with layers or something? I have searched around and found somewhat similar issues but haven't found any solution that worked for me.

I am use Creo 5.0. I know in Creo, there is a solution for this pipe slope problem:  "Slope Mark" in pipe model or drawing , This can solve the installation problem. In food and pharmaceutical area, its a normal requirement for pipe slope. Some lines even not allowed horizontal pipe exist . Now we dont show the slope in 3D model. We cant use the 3D pipe model make manufacturing drawing. Also some times, if the line is long and space is limited, offten have some interference problems in workshop or site. So if there any way to make "slope" angle in 3D model and use standard welding elbow?.      

Running Creo 10. Tried to create a new Datum A. However, it says the label was duplicated and gave me the squiggly underline. I checked my tree, and there is no other Datum A anywhere in it.

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could give any advice on how to model a cam track from an old drawing. I have one idea so far; to draw the profile of the track on a plane and then project it on the outer face of the cam. Then cutting it with a sweep. Unsure if this will work for the whole track, definitely a misunderstanding on my part somewhere. If anyone has any tips, advice or just a better way to do it, I'm all ears.  This is what I have so far. I'm also not entirely sure what "LEAD A" is or how the angles (B and C) relate to the shape in 3D. Perhaps it needs to be calculated to an arc? I have been using values from the first line,  This is what it should look like in the end. Thank you for any time you may put in to this!

A bit of a long shot but ... I wonder, is it possble to embed the Mathcad calculation in Creo drawing? I'd imagine it would look like an image inserted into a drawing, but instead of a dumb image it would show the current Mathcad document. I'd imagine it could work similarly to how MS excel sheet can be embedded inside MS Word document - it looks like an image but if you double click it - an embedded excel opens up. I can find that it's possible to embed Mathcad document into the Creo model and use it to drive the model, but I am simply  looking for a way to display the mathcad document on the drawing. I am currently making a screenshot of a Mathcad and then inserting it into Creo. It does the job but I wonder if there is a smarter way to see embed a document rather than making a screenshot. Thank you!

Dear all,I'm on Creo 8.0.10.0 connected to WNC 12.0.2.10 and I'm configuring some custom AFX  profiles/connectors and equipments.With the first try with profiles I get the expected result, selecting the custom profile it will  take the autonumbering from windchill and also all parameter from start_mdl.cfg and relations from param_relations.txt.Then I tried to configure an equipment and i'm not able to have at the same time the autonumbering and the parameter populated correctly.In the customization\parts\equipment i've filtered out the equipments I dont want to see and then added to the correct subfolder the sel_list.txt to change the endcap_square from part_copy to part, in this way I'm having all the attribute/relations copied to the selected equipment but i'm not able to get the autonumbering and the part will remain with original name.To the other side if I keep the sel_list as it is, I receive the correct renumbering from Windchill but the equipment is not cont

Is there a way to have the license file inform you which PTC Flexnet license server version is required for the license file. We seen to always get caught installing an updated license file that is not supported by the license server. hii I have a problem during the solidification of a surface that penetrates inside a solid body. I attach the photo of the problem. I tried to fill the surface but having projected the curve onto the cylinder I can't select the surface to fill properly, could that be the problem?

When we have workspaces with 5000 to 50000 objects, start up time is more.Objective is to launch Creo faster without waiting for loading huge data on the workspace. 

We are importing PCB's using Altium CoDesigner which writes XML files to the startup directory.These XML files can be deleted once the PCB has been fully imported.Is there any way that these files could be written to its own folder like the trail files. 

I am working in WF3.I have a part in an assy. The part is a hose connecting 2 points in the assy, on fixed and one on a another part that can move within certain limits. I want to make sure that the hose will adapt its bending curve to achieve this but you have to remember that the hose must have a fixed length and only the bend angle and the radius an vary.If I could lock the bend arc length to a set value it would be easy.Fixing the hose to its known start and end points, locking the value the length of the straight (not bendable) ends I only need to lock the arc length.I can measure the arc length but have not been able to find a way to lock this value.Help! 

Creo+ 11.0.0.0-008 Changing the start in directory of the shortcut for Creo+ is not working. I am modifying the start in directory of the shortcut created on the desktop when installed. The desired path is visible in the shortcut properties but Creo+ is not starting in this directory when launched from the shortcut.    

simple question: Does anyone know why you can add materials to assemblies? You used to not be able to do this, but in Creo 5 you can. You still can't assign any material to the assembly, so what's the point of being able to add materials to it? They don't seem to be used for anything? Does anyone have a use case for this? why was this functionality added?

In Creo 10.0, items in the "Remove surfaces" field in the shell feature dialogue box cannot be replaced later using the "Edit References" command; they must be removed and reselected from within the Shell feature tool.  The "Edit References" option is greyed out when the shell feature is selected. This is unusual behavior among Creo features, in which lost surfaces can be replaced by newer surfaces by using "Edit References" without entering the feature tool after the feature has been created.  This is useful when you prefer not to redefine and reselect manually, e.g. drafted wall become straight.  I don't recall that this was the case in earlier versions.   Is it a bug?

Out of nowhere I am having an issue when trying to modify dimensions in the Sketcher.  Typically, I was able to modify dimensions by double clicking and then making the change and moving to the next, but now I am unable to do that.  When I double click the dimension will briefly highlight (like normal) then quickly closes before I can modify it.  I have been forced to always use the Modify Dimensions wheel which I used to use occasionally when locking the scale for making changes to the sketch.  Anyone experiencing this?  IS there a fix?  Any help would be greatly apprciated.Steve

Hi all, I just have a question about showing dimensions with Creo Parametric 7.0.11.0 . I know some work-arounds, but I am just curious if this is possible... When I make a driven dimension in a part file, I can show that dimension at the higher level in the assembly model. I can't, however, show that dimension in the drawing? It does work with other annotations like datums or notes, but not driven dimensions. I can get it to work if I put all of the driven dimensions in the part into an Annotation feature and then show that, but that seems like a weird workaround? Is this the intended functionality and I'm just trying to do things a weird way? Attached is some screenshots of a test assembly. Also the reason I am doing it this way is that I have an inseparable assembly with helicoils, pins, etc... and my company is still stuck with Creo 7. Thanks in advance for any help!
