Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I have a sheet metal hsg with a lot of components assembled in relationship to it.I am creating a family table assy and replacing the main hsg with an instance of the hsg (family table).What will be the best way to retain all the components used in my second family table assy that were originally  assembled to the generic hsg without assembling them to the instance hsg?  TIA

Hey everyone, wondering if you've seen this issue before and know how to fix it. I searched and didn't see the same issue on the forums.    When creating a note with a leader and then going to annotate and creating a geometric tolerance callout, I can take that and hover over the leader note and click it and it'll snap into place under the note as seen in the picture below. We've see this changes the note from a geometric tolerance in the detail tree. It essentially becomes a GTOL callout with additional text above the callout. This is how we want it to look.         Last night Creo started doing this. Same note creation, same Gtol placement, but instead of snapping it below the note, it snaps it at the end of the leader line and keeps the note a note and the gtol a gtol without combining them as shown below.    Has anyone seen this happen or know how to get Creo to automatically do this correctly every time. 

I have an assembly which has several parts/sub assemblies. I want to get a complete bom table that i can import to excel. The problem is that some parts are shrinkwrap of an assembly and i want to list out the parts in those assemblies. So this is one of these "I'm pretty sure this isn't possible but I'll ask in case anyone has any tips" things. I have a client that asked me if it's possible in Creo to cover a part surface with a textured pattern, sort of like the "rough" appearance, in a way that will affect the physical surface of the part, and not just the rendering. There is third party software that can do it, but he wanted to know if it's possible in Creo. Basically, the texture should 3D print. I can imagine trying to do this with some Flatten Quilt Deformation and some pattern work, but it would be a LOT of work for each part, especially since he would prefer a somewhat random pattern and not something repeating like a Fill pattern. So yeah, the ideal here would be to convert the "Rough" appearance into 3D geometry, but I haven't heard of such a function. But maybe it's available in the Additive Manufacturing Extension that I don't have access to? Any tips?

I am using Creo 9.0 and i want to fix the position of bom table in creo drawing which is created through format (.frm).  

I am using the weld application to generate welds and symbols for my drawing.  I am having an issue where I turn some things off for a weld symbol to hide certain aspects of the symbol and then they randomly change back to default showing everything.  I am using the Symbol Customization function in Creo 9.0 to modify the symbol.  Anyone ever encounter this and if so, is there a fix? ThanksRyan 

I use CREO7 and PSMlink 12.0 with a CED wrdker. pdf files are generated ans I can get them one bty one from PDMlink.   I wonder if there is a way to collect several PDF Files either by batch or from a liste à drawing.          

Hi,I have a number of individual points that I would like to pattern with individual pattern tables and then create a curve thru a point in each set of pattern points and then reference pattern those curves to the table pattern points.Is this possible and how?In the picture below I have created 2 offset coordinate system points and have patterned them separately using separate pattern tables.  I then created a curve thru the 2 points I created and then referenced pattern the curve. the pattern of curves should be separate straight lines.  For example the second curve should be going from pnt1 to pnt10 and not from pnt1 to pnt9 and so on.Any ideas on how to fix this issue?my ultimate goal is to use a family table to swap out the pattern table to change the position of each row of points.Thanks for any help you may provide!Don A

Hi all, todays question: copying a part already in the assembly remember, transitioning from Creo 3 to Creo 9.. I used to be able to select a part, then copy (CTRL+C) & paste (CRTL+V) it in the assembly..  I then  only need to pick the missing constraints for the new part..  (No need to go thru the whole 'browse for the desired part'..) Now (Creo 9) While I can select the part, the copy function seem to only copy some surface.. What changed? Can this still be done? 

I am experiencing issues with the material removal simulation in creo parametric 10.1, where the play path changes the tools I imported. I imported the following tools: H63TH-SVVBN-H16 with a VBMT160408 and MTJNL2525M16N with TNMG160408L-ES.During the play path simulation with the VBMT insert, it remains and shows the correct path. However, when attempting to use it in the material removal simulation, Creo modifies its geometry, resulting in an error. Additionally, I am unable to utilize the toolholder for generating the collision report.

I imported a lathe tool into Creo parametric 10.1, and whenever I run the simulation, the tool above the workpiece has a distance almost equal to the radius of the insert tip. How can I make the tool execute the simulation correctly?I went through this process by creating parameters, defining the tool size, and still, I am not able to achieve the desired simulation result

Hello,  I do not have a wiring schematic for my harness I need to model in 3D, however I have a table of this wiring harness that I would like to use to automate the creation of a wiring harness. In this table, I have wiring to, from, and what the wire gauge is as well. There is some other information however that doesn't seem necessary.I see that it's possible to use a  .NWF file to autoroute, however I do not have this. Would it be possible to use this data to create a .NWF File in order to automatically set up the wires in creo? This would reduce my workflow immensely. 

As per the original post.    The company that I work for, is using Windchill Release: 11.0 M030-CPS11 with Creo 6.0.4 I wonder if we can go to Creo 7.0.  Do you know where I can get that info? Thanks  

Anyone know if I can change this and/or why Creo (9.0.6.0) behaves like this?I don't understand why it would be unavailable if the component's parent is locked... When the parent assembly is unlocked, there is "View server properties" in the RMB-menu: That option is gone when the parent assembly is locked: The lock-state of the component itself doesn't seem to matter.  

I am drawing a blank on how to model a coiled extension spring.  The simplest example would be an extension spring wrapped around a cylinder.  Any suggestions?  I am currently on CREO 7.

Hi,Having trouble adding an annotation note to a family table where the text assigned to the family table instance controls what's shown in the note for each instance, The instances are only displaying the note for the generic and when I modify the family table values they don't display in the model.I want to have the general notes driven from the family table instances and the text in the image below be the values that are shown on the drawings.What's the proper way to add annotation unattached notes to a family table and have the ability to change the text displayed in the note based on what's assigned to the instance value?

Does anyone have an old PDF copy of the Relational Editor - Help Topic Collection from the Pro/E and/or Wildfire days? I am able to find old copies of these for things like "Pro/Program", Pro/NC, or "Detail Drawings" but curious if anyone has one on the relational editor they can share?    

I am creating a drawing for a part in Creo Parametric 7.0.2.0 and have a 2D family table similar to that below, where A, B, and C are parameters: Part NumberABC10.5000.1750.06020.2500.2000.060 I the part in question has varying tolerances for each dimension and part number, so I have to define them by hand. The column that I want to show is the limits value for the given dimension (with dual dimensions), however I want to hide or delete the column showing the nominal value.  Real data: So essentially hide A, A_MAX_IN, A_MIN_IN, but show A_TOL.How can I go about this for a 2D family table?

Hi,I want to change the colour of my parts. We do sheet metal, so all of my parts (except a few) are sheet metal. For whatever reason, I no longer have the ability to change the overall colour of a part.  (Except for the ‘pick each & every surface’ method currently) I used to be able to open the render tab, and select a colour, then click the [upper most] part [main feature] in the model tree, and it would change the whole part color & each subsequent feature added to eh part.. it no longer does that. It’s stuck on whatever the default color was. New sheet metal parts won't change.  But older "parts" (not sheet metal) will change per the older method.. In the 'edit model appearance' tab, it shows the proper colour, as well as the older / original colour.  yet it only shows the part in the older "default" colour, despite this new colour being applied.. Now, this also seem to apply to assemblies.  The assembly comes in as one solid colour.&

Windchill Version: 12.0.2.7Creo Parametric Version: 9.0.2.0 I am trying to map a Creo Attribute to Windchill's CAD Document Uses Link. I've followed these steps:Create Reusable Attribute  I've added the attribute to the CAD Document Uses Link In Creo I created an assembly with a part. I added the TEILENUMMER attribute to the part and made sure to designate the variable to Windchill.  I checked in the Assembly and the Part.After these steps I exptected to see the the defined value (0000010028) in the Structure tab on the assembly on the TEILENUMMER attribute. However, it is empty.What did I do wrong / missed?

Doing some testing on Creo 8.0.0.0.  Successfully added the crosshatch definition to a material file so that works as I expect. Looking for a way to always set 'use material hatch' option when I edit the hatch in the part cross section.   This article seems to indicate after Creo 7 there is a new way but I'm not finding it.  https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS148466

I would like to use the rpt.qty value from a parent in the nested region relations.  Here's what I wish I could do.nested_qty = rpt_qty:ID_of_parent_region Ultimately I need to to be a multiplier.  

Hi all, is it possible to default a round/chamfer to always go into a single set without needing to hold control? i've tried looking around but no luck so far.not super critical for my workflow but i would prefer to manually select if i want to make a new set.
