I am using Creo Parametric Release 5.0 and Datecode5.0.5.0Creo Drawing BOM Table Help. I would like to add a Column for "Supplied By" but this column I would like to leave as a manually entered Text field because It will be constantly changing from one project to another and I do not want it related back or driven from the parts and or assembly's parameters. I would like the Column to be prefilled out for all items in the Table with a Dash "-" in the BOM and then I can manually overwrite it as needed based on the project and it would only affect the drawing table for that current drawing.Or any other option to do this is much appreciated. there will only be a handful of items that will need the column overridden but would like Dashes "-" shown by default So I avoid having to type in every row and prefer not to leave a blank cell. Thanks
My creo got crash in every 5 mins.
need to know how to change output to diameter in X vs. radius.
I am unable to open the user interface of cosmetic thread. Whenever I click on the cosmetic thread tab it takes me to some intudfs folder having two folders inside (External and Internal) containing .gph files. I'm not sure if it is some kind of bug or do I have to modify some parameter in config. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Currently I run my code by clicking auxiliary application -> start, and after running I have to click stop.Although this does not affect the functionality of my code even if I do not click stop, is there a way to stop the aux app somehow in the stop method? Just to save a click public static void start () { do_something(); } public static void stop () { }
How to save creo 8.0 version .prt file in creo 6.0 version?
Let's say I have a rather complex, curved geometry. I need to highlight an area of this geometry in the drawing, to indicate something like a specific tolerance, or an area that should be painted, or something else. What's the best practice here? Since the area is curved, I can't simply make a sketch on it. The best way I've found so far is to make a plane parallel to the view orientation in which I want to show the area, then project the curves in question on this plane. This will look right in the drawing, but will give a floating sketch in the model, which looks kinda weird. Another way would be to use "Designated Area", give it a different color (since you can't use Appearance States on drawings for some weird reason), and then show that surface on a specific view. Downside is that this requires using a shaded view, which is not ideal for tolerancing views, for example. I'd like to be able to designate the area, then change the edge display style of those edges
I am using Creo Parametric Release 5.0 and Datecode5.0.0.0Hello,I am relatively new to using Creo Parametric to build harness models. I am using Creo Schematics to generate 2D wiring diagrams and then exporting an XML file into Creo Parametric. Within Creo Schematics, for a connector you have parameters associated with the component, parameters associated with the port of the connector, and parameters associated with the wires (spool). I am having trouble calling port parameters within Creo Parametric. I have been using the following guide:http://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/usascii/index.html#page/electrical_design%2Fcable%2Freport_params_for_harness_asms_and_harness_mfg_drawing.html%23I have tried nearly all combinations but I cannot seem to report the custom port parameters within my BOM tables. I think that the call&asm.mbr.connprm.pin.should work but I am only able to call the basic parameters like entry port and name and not any of the custom ones defined in Creo Schema
Hi, A 3D preview (rotatable, enlarged, reduced) is required. Can we implement a 3D preview? 1. Is it possible?Among the APIs, ProAccessorywindowCreate creates a small window. Can you insert that little window into the CUSTOM UI? 2. Insert HTMLAfter implementing the preview window with WEBLINK (HTML), can the page be displayed on the CUSTOM UI? Warm Regards, SeonHo Cha
Hello,I'm trying to use Apache POI to export some data to Excel in conjunction with an existing customization written with Java OTK. I'm using Eclipse on Windows. The project builds fine and loads in Creo, but it throws an exception when it gets to the first line of code that uses Apache POI. It says it's unable to find the class. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,-Russ
Is anyone able to create a PTC Case?My logger does not let me select ISSUE TYPE, which is required. The PRODUCT options no longer include a generic Creo Parametric, only a "Connected" option.Look at this image
First, the parameter part_table_editor is set to "excel" That said, Creo will not allow me to open and edit a table pattern in excel if I already have another excel window open. When attempting to do that it throws this error: The fix I have found (which is incredibly inefficient) is to close all open excel windows, open the table pattern, then reopen the excel files I am using to generate the data needed for the table pattern. Does anyone know if there is a fix that will allow me to open table patterns in excel without closing all other excel windows?
I am using Creo Parametric Release 3.0 and DatecodeM110Users coming across files that are checked out by individuals that no longer work here.He attempted to undo their check out but was unable to release it.Can wcadmin release those files? Is there a way to find such files that were checked out since 2019?
I've been working with motion envelopes a lot over the last several years. This is an incredibly useful tool and my organization creates and uses them frequently. However, they're difficult to create, difficult to use, and difficult to update. It's time PTC gave this tool an overhaul with the end-users in mind. The list below are my ideas for improvements. I intend to post this to the Creo Community Ideas subforum, but first I'm hoping to hear from the community to discuss what I have so far, maybe crowdsource a few more ideas, and hopefully drum up some votes for the Idea post when that happens. And please feel free to point out spelling/grammar mistakes and ask for clarification on any point. I'll post this list and any additions to the Ideas subforum in a week or two, depending on how active the discussion here is. I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.2.0I would like to add opskip to my posted files. This would skip nc code when the block skip funtion is turned on at the cnc machine. It should insert a / before the lines of posted cnc code that I want to optionally skip. I need to know how to drive that into my programming. Thanks
Good morning to the whole community. My name is Daniele and I'm an entry level in PTC Creo, especially Creo Simulate. Let me to make a question, please. If in Simulate I have to connect more than two parts with the fasteners (as in image 1 attached-in this case there are 3 parts), it is possible to insert the fastener by selecting a edges from part 1 and a edge part 3 and then insert the contact interfaces with the type interfaces free between parts 1-2 and 2-3? Is it possible to connect more than two parts with the with fasteners in Creo Simulate? What is the best practice? Many thanks in advance
I have a drawing which I copied and renamed. We are currently creating a development drawing and then later a production drawing in which we use a different drawing number. I want to replace the model in which the views are created from with an identical model assembly with a slightly different part number. I've tried the "Drawing Models" commands and I've added the model, so it shows up in my list of models. I've tried to use "Replace" but it doesn't seem to work. How would I go about doing this and preserving my views and dimensions, etc.? Thanks
Hi Guys I have the following scenario: Imagine a "complex box", with about 50parts, inside that box is "content", also 50parts (a few of each are subassemblies. some are long, straight cables, usually hidden/excluded) I created a simplified representations to exclude the cables anyway (since those are in subassemblies, it doesn't change the BOM) A) But if I'd explode all 100 parts, then it's a big mess... therefore I only explode the complex box (and show how you build it around the inner content)B) Then, as if it were a detail view, I created another simplified representations and excluded everything but the inner content and exploded it to show some details (and have space to label them proper) -> Sadly It seems that it is inevitable, that this creates two different BOMS (and I spent quite some time in the forum). A) would be correct, but Id like to have the balloons for the inner content on the other view... but to be able to put balloons on B), I had to
Hello All, I design cosmetics packaging & tooling with Creo. We are looking to purchase a new 3D Printer (ours is cheap and prints with voids in top, flat surfaces). We are looking for roughly a 10" bed max and looking to keep the price around $1000, but can go higher if it means better precision. Any recommendations? Thank you!
I created a Local Section View and defined an area to show the internal components. One of the components will not highlight nor is it selectable. Not sure why. But this also means you can not attach a BOM Balloon to it either. Any ideas on why this 1 component out of 18 is non-selectable?
Hi all, its been a while! Does anyone know if its possible to change the cross height of a Z-radius dimension? The default height appears to be 5mm & is annoyingly large. I have been searching for a possible config option but have drawn a blank thus far. RegardsJohn
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM110Information contained within a hole table on a drawing. Is there a way of showing the blind depth of a hole in a hole table, if so where can I find instructions? I had a quick try using parameters but I couldn't get it to work. I am also seeing standard holes labelled as M16x2 when in fact they have been specified as clearance holes, the only work around I have found is to create a normal hole at a specific diameter rather than using a standard hole generated using the iso.hol file.
We are working on going from Creo 6 to Creo 8, and the first engineer I have testing the program has run into an issue. After you create your first Extrude, none of the options become available like Flat, Flange, Flat Pattern, etc... I'm in IT and not fluent at all in the actual modeling portion, so trying to figure out what might be causing this?

Hi Guys I'm working since years with CAD, since a few Months I started using Creo. So I'm sorry for possible wrong wording of commands etc., neither is English my mother tongue. So I was struggling with Notes on a Drawing until I've been told that those come from the Model as well (as the dimensions - my new company strictly uses that - this is very new to me... old cad had the function, but poorly executed) That's how I started to play around with Notes and Annotation Features to get the understanding & skill on a similar level as with the old CAD.So I came across a strange behavior, the way to reproduce is the following: Being in the Annotate Tab > Create an Annotation feature > definition > create a standard leader note.Select a point on a face > drag text field somewhere > confirm with middle mouse button > enter text > confirm with MMB again > klick ok to close the Annotation feature dialogue box. In the Detail Tree: Therefore,
