I am using Creo Parametric 3.0 M1701.)How to remove already existing set start point while doing flatten in Manufacturing drawing.2.)How to show all the details of harness in single BOM table(Ex:Component,spools,etc...)3.)How to create the Co-axial cable in the cabling module 4.)How to show the multiple harness in the single view.
Hello I am new here so i hope i will describe my problem good enough. I made UDF with 2 main parts and the rest of the parts are two washers bolt and a nut. When i replace one of my main parts for unrelated compotent and go into Edit Ref Table program only ask for references that are needed for placing the part. So when i replace it my washers have faild references. I know i can and extra references in EDIT REF TABLE but this udf will be used a lot and its annoying that you have to do all those extra steps especialy since UDFs i made like this in creo 4 is still asking for all the references it needs for placing washers. Hope i didnt complicated it too much and i posted in right section thanks for help. regards
Hello!I want to import a press-fit pin tip with variable thickness (stp file). It can be imported only as a sheel, and if I want to generate a stp file afterwards, it won't show the pin tip anymore. It is a way to solve this problem?
I am working on a difficult assignment. If I adjust the length with parameters, the number of parts should also be adjusted automatically. Im using it in an assemby enviroment.Couple:If I have a length of 10 meters, there should be 4 rails. If the length is 5 meters, there should be only 2 rails. If the length is 15 meters, there should be 6 rails.I would like to use a pattern and control the numbers of the rails with parameters so that I can use the if and else relations.Does anyone have an idea how I can do this smartly? I'm using Creo 7 parametric.Thank you in advance!
Hello All,I hope this post find you healthy and happy in this new year; well relatively new year.I have a situation where I use specific layers for surfaces and curves. Sometimes the drawings loose the layer state and they become unhidden making the drawing look like a wreck. I just experimented with the config option blank_layer a bit. I saved out the layer status file to my desktop, added a layer ID to a layer, read it back into a test file and then added the config option to try and blank a layer by the layer ID on opening a file. It does not work for me. We use Creo 3.0 build M150. Any thoughts on a way to force certain layers to always blank initially? I have a sneaking suspicion that Creo un-blanks my layers when a change is made with intent. Also we have varied layer practices from the many years and people who have worked here. Is it possible to delete all the layers and use default_layer_model to pull in new layers with rules? Any method that works would be appreciated.&n
For anyone who has obtained (or wants to obtain) a FREE License of Nitro-BOM... we pushed out a new release last night (v 8.5). Nitro-BOM v8.5 has improved the Parameter Create / Modify / Delete Cycle for Creo Parametric Parts and Assemblies -from- Excel - especially on larger assemblies. 😎 Nitro-BOM requires JLINK to be installed with your Creo Environment (most customers install this by default). Here are some instructions for how to do this (this can change based on Creo Versions - but basically the same process). To get a FREE License (no registration required) -- just click on this when prompted! Have Fun! Dave
I have a U profile that I control with parameters. There are 2 holes in this profile, if the length is 1000mm. If the profile is bigger than 1000mm, then I want to have 4 or more holes in the profile. Can this be set parametrically with Creo 7? How do I do this ? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Creo Parametric's mouse button control feels ancient, like it was designed before mouse's had a right mouse button. You can rotate by pressing the scroll wheel button, zoom with the scroll wheel. What's missing is Pan with the right mouse button, instead of requiring pressing shift. If PTC ever wants to migrate all the Creo Elements Direct Modeling users to Parametric, PTC needs to enable Pan with the right mouse button.
Hello,I need to develop assembly drawing of mounting of several brackets on the frame (green lines on the screenshot). But the frame should not be a component of this assembly. It should only be an external context.- The mass of the frame should be excluded in the mass property calculate;- The frame should not be included in assebly BOM;- The frame should be shown by a thin line in the assembly drawing.- Frame is a real assembly which I use in another product. And I need the real frame to be associative with the simplified frame-context.Regards,Max
I have an assembly with hundreds of components in it and 5 of them are bulk items. What I stumbled across was that when using the right to left 2D box method of selecting a component or group of components, it is also selecting all of the bulk items but not always. This behavior seems to be location dependent as I can use this method on one area of the assembly and the bulk items are selected while using the same method in another area of the assembly the bulk items are not selected. In the attached image, I used this method to just catch the edge of the orange wheel to select it and in the model tree you can see the three bulk items have been selected also. Is there a config option to disallow this behavior? This has been tested with Creo 4 and 8.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.4.0i cant save my config file. is there something i can do to overcome this?
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 2.0 (connected) Release 2.0 and DatecodeM250Please let us know how to replace Line stock through pro program.
“Creo 9.0 will be released in April 2022. As with previous years, PTC is running a brief sneak peek for customers who are interested in testing out the new updates and feature functionality with this release. All we ask in return is feedback on these enhancements and new capabilities. If you are interested, please sign up for the Creo 9.0 Beta using this link: https://www.ptc.com/en/products/creo/beta/. The beta program will run from Feb 21st to Feb 27th and will be Appstream-based similar to last year, so you don’t have to install software or licenses in order to access the sneak peek. Interested customers are encouraged to sign up using the above link.”
I am using Creo Schematics Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.0.0We get license error "7788@<license_server> unreachable".
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.2.0Hello,I'm looking for a manner to start Creo with and without windchill. If I put a copy of my templates and start parts (that normally are on Windchill) also in my PC, I heard that I can start creo with a batch file for a Windchill or a stand alone utilize. Can I have major informations about this? Have you an already did "general batch file" to share with the client? Thanks
Hello, I am programming large components using the Prismatic & Multi-Surface Milling and Complete Machining options. I am very close to the z limit of the machine. Retracts are a problem. I have a few questions if I may: 1. I am programming a 3 axis conventional milling sequence. Is it possible to use a retract plane that is not perpendicular to the tool centerline? 2. I have tried setting up a cylindrical retract plane. Is this allowed with conventional milling?I have read the help on this topic. I can define a cylindrical retract surface in the operation but not in the sequence. 3. If the retract direction has to be aligned with the tool centerline is there a way to limit the retract distance by defining a distance from the machined surface (following shape contours) at all locations - let's say one inch? Thank you,Barry Parker
Dear community,I want to know if it is possible to export stochastic lattices in 3MF format? On the CREO support it is indicated that it is possible to export in 3MF lattices with a simplified representation and a circular cross sections (which is the case for stochastic lattices), but it is impossible for me to export them in this format...Thanks in advance for your answer
Previous to Creo4 Release Cycle: Actual Build support: Creo2=26 blds Creo3=20 blds Standard VS Enterprise Release Cycles (Creo4-Creo7) Standard Releases: Creo5 and Creo6 Full Support=1 yr (fast build releases) Extended Support=1yr (slow build releases) Total Support=2 yrs Actual Build Support: Creo5=7 blds Creo6=7 blds Enterprise Releases: Creo4 & Creo7 Full Support=3 yr (fast build releases) Extended Support=1yr (slow build releases) Total Support=4 yrs Actual Build Support Creo4=16 blds Creo7=TBD (est.~15?) New release support schedule starting with Creo 8.0 Full Support=2 yr (fast build releases) Extended Support=2yr (slow build releases) Total Support=4 yrs Actual Build Support Creo8=TBD (est.~13?) Creo9=TBD (est.~13?) The implication here seem to be fewer builds per 'Enterprise' release of Creo. Those of us with lots of users to support at our companies know the challenges of upgrading & the testing that goes with it. Do you
Hi everyone I have an assembly from a supplier with a lot parts in it. I know the overall weight of the assembly. I don´t want to waste time with assigning materials to all these parts, so is it possible to override the weight calculation with a user defined weight? Best regards Claus
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 3.0 (connected) 3.0 M090Need help with PTC Learning Connector. PTC Learning Connector is Unavailable. I'm told we've been able to use this in the past, and none of us can open it now. Here are the errors that I faced LearningConnector is unavailable
Edit: We managed to reduce our problem to the simplest case and have attached an example of it below. I removed the original less-informed message and replaced it with a better-informed explanation, which is why the first reply now sounds completely unrelated. I'm mentoring a FIRST Robotics team, and we think we've found a bug, but we're not 100% certain. We spent a lot of time designing a robot (which works great), but when we try to place our robot as a sub-assembly inside another assembly which contains the playing field, the robot stops working properly when we use the grab tool. (Sometimes the parts come off the robot, sometimes mechanisms freeze.) We reduced the problem to a simple two-body test case, attached below. Here's how to recreate the issue: First, place a part called BLUE in an assembly with a default constraint.Create a second assembly, and place the first assembly in it via a csys-to-csys constraint.Create a third assembly,
I read PTC changed their release cycle again (New release support schedule starting with Creo 8.0) which summarized means that 8.0.0.0 onward are essentially Enterprise releases and that Creo 8 is almost a year through its 2 year Standard support (quarterly build releases). I posted some more details on this and thoughts on when to upgrade here: Reflecting on PTC's change of Support and thoughts on when to upgrade? For this post, however, I am curious, if anyone has actually upgraded their company to Creo8 and if so how it went? (or if still testing how it is going) Was there a particularly enticing reason that you upgraded? If so what? About how many users do you have? What version of Creo were you on? How did it go? How stable is it? Do you use mapkeys extensively, and if so how did they translate?
