Creo+ and Creo Parametric

  I am trying to create an intermittant weld between these 2 parts. My weld will not create and no errors are popping up. What is the issue?    

Afternoon all!   The subject pretty much says it all..  I have a table that I've saved as a template - all but two columns have repeat region symbols in them, and the last two are set as comment columns.  When I change the Column Model/Rep of my rpt.qty columns, it erases the comment columns.  Is this expected behavior?  I've learned to do the column model change first, and then re designate the comment columns.. but that's extra steps I'd like to avoid.    In my most recent case - I had the entire table, including my two comment columns all filled out and had to make a change to the Column Model/Rep, and it erased everything I had in the comment columns...  Quite frustrating.   Any thoughts are appreciated!

Hi there,When I save a sketch as a .sec file and go to my new part, enter sketch mode - there's nowhere to import the sketch?? The tutorial for CREO 2 says there's a 'File System' dialogue but this doesn't seem to be present in Creo 3, help please!!

Hi Is it possible to pattern patterned group of features in Creo? Patterning grouped patterns is possible in general but it does not help in this case because chain of reference patterns cannot be successfully built in this case. Reason is that Creo can't recognize two chains of references needed to fully locate sketched shape that is moved based on reference point and inclined by plane at same time when patterning.

I am using Creo Parametric 7.0 7.0.3.0Is there a way to push a matrix (3x51) of xyz points from MathCad to Creo Parametric?

Is there any way to disable, or at minimum override, the sketcher type constraints that effect the placement of balloons?   I am placing roughly 100 bom balloons on a drawing view and am having issues with positioning the balloons were I want, because they insist on snapping normal or tangent, or so on, to features and components.   Is there any way to disable this? In sketcher you could temporarily disable or ignore a constraint if you needed, by right clicking or selecting the constraint and deleting it. That does not work for the constraints that pop up while placing a balloon. I believe all notes behave this way, but placing balloons is where it is causing the most issues as generally things get pretty crowded. The range of the snapping, precision if you will, is very large too, 10 degrees in my case.   I have looked through all of the config and drawing options as well as tried disabling sketcher preferences and adjusting accuracy of the sketcher constraints to

In assembly mode I have added a Jlink app to select then you right click on a part.Can I send the part name to this Jlink, so I can let Jlink work with this part?  

Creo 5.0.4 Let's say I have an assembly "W".  In the default appearance state, all the subcomponents are grey & in a new appearance state, lets call it "ASW1", all the subcomponents are various colors. Now let's say I have an assembly "A" which contains assembly "W".  The default appearance state for assy "A" uses the default appearance state for assy "W". I want to create a new appearance state for assy "A" that uses assy "W" appearance state ASW1.  How do I do this?

Currently in the process of trying to convert CREO drawing to SOLID edge drawings. Online I found some solutions, but they are all outdated. Therefore, my question if anybody knows where to find current migration tools for this problem.  Thank you in advance!  

Good morning everyone, I've been working on a puzzle recently, and I could use some help from the forum. I want to make a saved mold analysis feature to monitor the clearance between the waterlines and the geometry of the cavity block (see attached part model).  The tricky bit is that my company differentiates between clearance to cavity and shutoff geometry versus clearance to adjacent features like threaded holes for assembly.  In general, the idea is that the clearance between the waterlines and the cavity geometry should be a minimum of 5/8", whereas the clearance between the waterlines and any other feature should be a minimum of 3/8". Right now, I can do a global mold analysis feature and pay close attention to the coloring to determine if my clearance is okay for the specific features I'm checking, or I can specify a single reference surface to measure clearances from.  What I'd really like to do is make intent reference objects to collect the surfa

I am using Creo Parametric 7.0 7.0.2.0I used a multi-body part to create individual part file geometries. In the multi-body part, I changed all of the bodies to construction bodies. I assembled the multi-body part I used to create the individual parts into the assembly so I can use the datum planes in that multi-body part to assemble duplicate individual part files I created from that multi-body part so I did not need to duplicate the datum plane structure in the assembly, and I would need to update in both places if the structure or dimensions changed. Since the multi-body parts are construction bodies, they will not influence the real assemblies individual part files or the assembly items like mass properties and can easily hide the multi-body part. The individual part files derived from the multi-body parts allow me to assign material properties to them but when I try to get mass properties of the individual part under analysis it is greyed out. Dear all Creo Users,Sometimes I encounter fatal error in creo after some repetitive failed attempt of selecting or some unknown reasons. I have used the searchbar and searched the ptc community for fatal error topic and find that some experts are saying about traceback. What are tracebacks? Are these trail files? Can it help to recover part,assembly files?How can I recover my parts and assemblies and drawings in exact form after this error occurs. Usually ptc creo software completely shuts down after I click ok on fatal error.Any suggestions, ideas, discussions regarding this will be helpful.With regards,Soumya

We are wanting to add image files to some drawing but the "Insert Object" option does not work. All I get is an image placeholder that links me to the image but I don't see the actual image on the drawing.Any ideas?ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

It used to be that you needed REX to solidify an imported facet feature, but I'm wondering if this can now be done by importing mesh geometry into a Freestyle feature and then solidifying the geometry? This might be underplaying the power of the updated Freestyle feature, but it would be pretty handy to be able to quickly import and immediately edit files for which only facet data is available.

Hello. I model my own car in Style Tool and face a small problem. I don't understand why does curve direction flip after dropping it on a surface? Here is a picture to make it more clearly for you.In this picture, there are directions (End 1, End 2) of all curves I need that are marked by arrows.        So, my question is: How to make the direction of the projected curve (the arrow of yellow color) from up to down. I had my license file on a drive (called D drive) that I formatted last year. When I run setup and select the license file on my C drive it says it's valid and I press finish, but when I run Creo Parametric  it pops up the "License request failed for feature" and below that shows the "Requesting PROE_Essentials" and "D:\...dat (-1) Cannot find license file." So it's not updating the license file location it seems. Where is it storing the license location string? Is there a manual way to update that without uninstalling and reinstalling the whole program? (Not sure if uninstalling would fix this). Creo 5 is installed on C and the license file is on my desktop on C along with the setup files. I have no other drives connected anymore. I read that there was a C:\ProgramData\PTC folder but I don't see any Licensing folder in there. Just a Creo and QualityAgent folder.

Perhaps I may have inquired on this years ago, but I am wanting to find the center of gravity points for a series of sketches which will be strung together as a reference for a Swept Blend. I do not own BMX so I can't directly enter the needed points in the model. Is there a best way of determining the sketch center of gravities and place the corresponding point in the sketch? In the past I used a work around in which I had to solve for each of the X, Y and Z values with an extrude to each section and separately enter the X,Y and Z values.  In Creo 7 it is seeming to be more of a challenge, but I likely eventually will figure out how to use the slow method.  By any chance is there a quicker way to do this? 

I looked around for a solution but to no avail. Changing the config.pro pen_line_weight has no effect on my drawings. I tried using a pen table but did not get the results I was looking for. Using the pen table (I think) means that all geometry lines printed with pen 1 will all have the same line thickness. This means that, not only geometry lines but drawing border lines will be the same thickness... which I don't want. PTC TPI 117022 suggests changing the line weight config.pro option which will not overwrite user-defined thickness. I have made sure that I have no table.prt files, the option to use pen tables is removed from config.pro and the option to use pen tables for PDF is removed. Lines that have user-defined thickness print with correct weight but no matter what number I put in to the pen 1 and pen 2 options, geometry and dimension lines are not affected (too thick and too thin respectively). Currently using Creo2.0 m50. What am I missing?   Thanks all.

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) 8.0 8.0.0.0Our config.pro has view_scale_format ratio_colon (1:1) which does not seem to be mapping across correctlyIn Prepare>Drawing Options>Detail Options> view_scale_format is default to decimal* (1.000)However, '&scale' displays a fraction (1/1)Has anyone faced something similar to this? We can manually work around changing the view_scale_format manually every time, but would like this to happen from the config.pro file as expected.   Thanks in advance

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) 7.0 7.0.3.0I have a round part with a "flow channel" that I am trying to rough out trying to pick mill. My work around is to use 4axis trajectory with full size ball endmills and axis shift tools paths.Any ideas? I have tried cutline however, Can only get the bottom of the radius pick milled.
