Curious how I can get my tangent edges to display as such in assembly view: Currently, my model is displaying like this instead: And I need to match the first image view style for a presentation I'm updating. Any idea? Been messing with settings and configuration values for over an hour trying to figure it out.
If I have a small structure of lets say 12 tubes to form a cube and I need this cube in 20 locations along a straight line. I can create the cube in my assembly file, group it and then apply a pattern. Alternatively, I can create a sub-assembly of the cube and locate that in my assembly and then pattern that. Which will regen faster, the patterned cube group or the patterned sub-assembly? Which will be less memory used?
Hello. I have been recently working with both CREO Parametric and CREO View with large assemblies and I was wondering if there was a way to turn on the representations of specific parts on CREO Parametric with what I have turned on CREO View. The way I have been doing it until now is to open the assembly on CREO View, add to a New Model the subassemblies/parts that I will work with, and then go back to CREO Parametric to search for each one of these items, which is time-consuming because the search bar won't find an item that has not been set a representation on. So I have to search for the path of the item on CREO View and replicate it to Parametric. Thanks and regards.
Hello Gurus! I currently have a complex model which is made from 2 imported surface sets. One being the interior and the other being the exterior. It is also company policy to do the modelling features in a half section and then mirror merge to try cut down number of features. We also have a policy which states that interior surfaces to be 'Red', Exteriors to be 'Blue' and machined surfaces to be 'White'. All is good until I mirror and the other side just stays one colour. To change I would have to pick each individual surface and the part is now a solid 😞 Any ideas?
I want to define a catalog part from a supplier with the correct mass. I will need to make a family part for the whole different variants. Obviously, when I define my simplified part of the gas spring, I wont have the correct mass. I remembered to measure the volume of the part, and change the density of the part. But I'm struggling with it. I created a relation to calculate the density, according to the volume of the part, and the mass from catalog. mp_density=catalog_mass/VOLUME:FID_VOLUME But the final mass of the part, remains the default, don't know why, but I'm unable to change it. Any idea?

I am using Creo Parametric 2.0 M080Hello Team,We have developed a toolkit (.dll) file (few years back) to create a PDD file(.XML) by extracting sketch information.Now, we would want to upgrade them to enhance its functionalities to fetch dimension and constraint information.To debug the existing source code from visual studio, we couldn't able launch the debugging environment in Creo by running the visual studio by manually keeping breakpoints in the code. Few tips from toolkit documentation didn't helped us.Debugging mode decouples the toolkit in the list of auxiliary applications adding it to more difficulty. on the other hand, if we start creo parametric program from start menu, toolkit is loaded in runtime and available in the session.We also have few queries about the way, how functions are implemented in Creo Parametric.? we would like to connect with developers of this program, as more questions would arise as a part of conversationHere are the errors that I faced The breakpoint

In brief: If you want the rule to apply to all levels and not just the current subassembly, do not check the "Include submodels" box when you initially create the search condition. Close the rule editor dialog box, and then "redefine" to edit it, and then check that box. On a large assembly, this can make a huge difference in how long it takes to bring up the resulting Simp Rep each time. We have the issue where when we set material for a part, the crosshatch doesn't default to the correct crosshatching for that material. Is there a setting or some way to set the crosshatch per material? For example ANSI Steel has a different crosshatch from ANSI Aluminum. And both are different from the default crosshatch.

Hello everybody,i am trying to update an fdu with no success. Here are the steps I took: 1 - I draw the .prt which has the udf.2 - I create the udf as a subordinate.3 - I save the udf and the reference model in the working directory4 - I create a new part and recall the udf as dependent on udf quotas and salvo.5 - I reopen the reference model of the udf and I modify it and I also modify the fdu itself (ex: I delete a rounding feature) and save.5 - I go back to the part and from> udf operations> update everything After the operations described, I don't see the UDF updating.It updates only if I manually go to replace it.Is there an automatic way?Why doesn't it update with the command updates everything? ty, Matteo.

We have a number of components that were created by downloading a STEP or Solidworks file from the vendor and then importing them into our Creo start part to set our parameters. Most of these are pipe fittings and we have created an extrude to 'blank' the threads that they were originally modelled with. Then we added ports and coordinate systems to use with piping. I modeled one fitting from scratch and did the ports and all. When I looked in ModelCheck for File Size, my model was about 30% of the imported model size. Does file size have an impact on regeneration time? We might have close to 100 imported fittings in some of these larger files.
When we are creating a large assembly structure using AFX, the designers are not reusing a frame component, even if it is the same size. They do the same thing with pipes. In some of the larger assemblies we may have 20-30 unique components instead of 1 component placed 20 or 30 times in different locations. Some of these are patterns but most or unique placements. The question is: Does reusing the same component instead of unique components make the file size smaller and thus speed up regeneration times? I loaded in Creo one of the top level assemblies this morning and it took about an hour into a clean workspace to open the drawing. If I can get some numbers to show that component reuse will save regeneration time, then I can try to convince the designers to change their habits...maybe.
I work with tooling design. And at the moment my model accuracy is 0.01 absolute, in mm. But I'm dealing with some silly geometrical problems while manipulating surfaces, or while make some imports of geometries. Someone advise me to start working with 0,02 absolute. I work a lot with surfacing, and that surfacing needs to be milled. Which values do you use? Greater values of accuracy, will also speed up regeneration?
Hello there, do you know if it is possible to let the service "lmadmin_ptc" (which provides the license) run during standby of windows? Our license server for floating licenses will be temporarily on a small PC and i don't want the machine to be turned on 24/7. Thank you in advance.
