Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I had Creo III installed for FIRST robotics use on office CPU's.  When I try to open it it gives me the following error:   License request failed for feature   Invalid feature name:[FEATURE_NAME]   Can anyone help?

Hi I have a screw and nut in assembly. I use 2 component placement 1- cylinder : connect screw and nut axis 2- slot : connect one point  nut  on helical curve on screw It's right Now, my problem: the placement is unstable, when i regen , the nut move oddly . small movement.   but that's not the most serious When i use this assembly screw / nut in another assembly : now screw/nut is sub assembly. And when i use snapshot to define a lot of position of mecanism, when i regen (go out snapshot window) the sub assembly don't keep the snapchot position. If i disable the slot connection (directly in placement component, not in the snapshot window), it's OK , the snapshot position has keep! but the position screw/nut is not good because the tooth has interpenetrated   It is possible to keep a snapshot position when go out snapshot window, and the slot connection stay on? or it is possible to define a snapshot as default position ?   Thanks    

Using Creo 4.0.  I am trying to figure out how to create a table that shows up on my drawing that pulls the pipe length information and inputs it directly.  I've been trying to figure out which parameter it is but have not figured it out.  Is there anyone out there that can help me with this?

I am using Creo Parametric 7.0 7.0.3.0Is it possible to have the environmental variables for the Windchill cache to be written to set to the users documents using %userprofile%?For example:ENV=PTC_WF_ROOT="%userprofile%"\creo7\cache ENV=PTC_WLD_ROOT="%userprofile%"\creo7\cache_wldENV=CREO_AGENT_HOME="%userprofile%"\creo7\agentWould like it to be based on the user without having to explicitly enter the user name in the psf file. It would be setup in an install package that would be made available to our user community.

Hi all,   I have a few general questions about an analysis I'm attempting.  I'd like to determine the natural frequencies of an (IC) engine isolation system.  The engine and associated components are mounted on typical cylindrical rubber isolators that are connected to the chassis.     My plan is as follows:   1. Setup the engine as a point mass at the CG location of the engine with the mass moments of inertia. 2. Create points for the start and end of the isolators. 3. Connect the point mass to the isolator ends using rigid links. 4. Determine the rubber isolator properties and set up springs with those. 5. Run a pre-stress static to determine the deflection/stiffness of the system under the effect of gravity. 6. Use that to do the modal analysis to determine the natural frequencies of the system.   It seems pretty straightforward but I want to make sure I don't miss anything.

I've started having issues with opening the dimension text window in the drawing tools. Any time I select the dimension text option on the ribbon, it shows it being selected, as shown in the image below, without the window opening. The window still comes up on the other engineer's workstation, so it's only an issue on my machine. Are there any menu options I can check to fix this, or do I just need to try a reinstall?   We are working with Creo Parametric 6.0

Hello!   Do anybody know why when I put some solid welds on my assembly it is shown as separate part of assembly in my drawing?    

Hello PTC Community   Hoping you can help me out with something that has been frustrating me.  I created a family table today, organized the columns while the part was open, in the order I want.  But once I was in the drawing, the fam.inst.param.name automatically sorts the column alphabetically.  Is there any way around this?    Thanks, Josh

Hi all,   I am running an idealized engine isolator assembly.  There are 3 isolators used to support the engine with the front (flywheel) side of the engine having angled isolators and rear isolator being oriented vertically.  The isolators are modeled as springs with extensional stiffness.  I have my engine sub as a lumped mass with moments of inertia.  There is an external belt pulley force applied as well.  The belt force and lumped mass are connected via rigid links to one end of each spring.  The other end of the spring is connected to a constraint with all 6 DOFs locked.  I've run a static analysis to determine the axial force in the spring as well as a modal analysis and a prestress modal analysis.  I have a couple questions that come from the results I am seeing.    1. My natural frequencies and mass participation factors do not change between a standard modal analysis and a pre-stress modal using my static analysis.

Is it possible to create a looping Mapkey?  I want to run a mapkey in each item in the model tree until I tell it to quit. Thanks

Does anyone know the code to repeat block for doing specific action in trail file/mapkey?

What could be the problem here? Creo says I cannot delete parameter, there is no windchill, no relations, no chid or parent for parameter, it is not referenced from annotation, nothing in the modell tree,  nothing. It seems to happen randomly and I cannot modify it either. The paramter is restricted by table though. Using creo 6.0.6.0

Hi, I have created a 3rd model and I have created relations to drive its dimensions through excel. I have called the excel into creo through Excel analysis tab available in analysis tab and created different Analysis feature so that it can take value from the excel & after that I have used that analysis feature in the relation so that it can drive its dimensions.   But once I changed the location of the Excel than the relations are not working.  so, how to resolve this issue did I need to make new relations or how can we make the excel file location independent so that it does not affect the relations created inside the creo enviroment.   Any suggestions are welcomed...   Regards, Shubham Mehta

Hi, I want to fully automate the creo like through UI i will enter the value to the modify the parts & assembly. As a UI I have created user interface in the excel and currently I am thinking to import the value from the excel only.   My main concern is that through excel i want to automate such that it should automatically update the assembly also its related drawing (with its dimensions) . In drawing it should change the scale of the 3 views that is top right and front such that it should look like filled drawing rather than for eg if i had A2 sheet size and in that there is bigger box than the drawing looks completely filled with particular scale of the views, while if i change the parameters of the box such that its smaller then the previous one then it should automatically change its scale so that drawing is completely filled.   So can we do this VBA or what can be the other better option to do this whole process automatically through a script.   Any responses a

Hi, I'm working with Creo 3.0 and inside my main assembly I have the structure like that:- Main Assembly    - Component 1    - Component 2    - Component 1    - Component 2    - Component 1    - Component 2....All "Component 1" (also "Component 2") occurrences mean the same part for that name. The only difference is between constrains of those components and their placing inside the main assembly.I'd like to put Component 1 and Component 2 into new Subassembly e.g. Subassembly_1 for each occurrences but I cannot do this because of name failure (I cannot create another subassembly with that name). So my dreamed structure is something like this:- Main Assembly   -Subassembly_1       - Component 1        - Component 2   -Subassembly_1       - Component 1        - Component 2   -Subassembly_1      &nbsp

Hi, i work for a multi-national company, we have sites all over Europe. All of these sites need access to Creo at one time or another. The company has a number of Creo licenses which are managed by a license server at one site. These are floating licenses which are taken on a first come, first served basis, or at least that is what we used to think. There are too many instances just recently, where i, or one of my colleagues lose a license we had. One minute we are working away without a problem, the next we receive an error saying license is lost. Then we have to start phoning around the group, to see who is using what & whether a license can be closed to free one up. We are concerned that once all the licenses are taken, & another user comes along, that somehow that user takes priority over anyone currently using. I don't anything about the license management software or how it works, or whether is can be configured to give a certain user a license at the expense of another.

Hi,Unfortunately I often have to work on STEP files in my company. I noticed that sometimes I cannot grouping some of the components in my model tree while working on STEP files. When I choose the components which I want to group and click the right mouse button in order to choose the group options I cannot see this option - there's no group option inside menu. I constrainted these components and then tried to grouping them but the result is the same - there's no group option inside menu after choosing components and clicking right mouse button in order to display menu. Do you know why is it like that?Thank you in advance for all replies!
