Greetings to all.Well my old Laptop finally cooked. I own a seat of wildfire 4 and I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with running a fresh install of WF4 on a modern windows 10 laptop? I found a used dell m7730, win10 pro, i7-8850h, 32gig, quadro p3200 and was considering using it.Yes, I get it that it is "not supported", but is there anyone out there that has done it and can give me some feedback?Thank You in advance

I HATE that the "Properties" popups no longer work for dimensions, instead we're left wondering what to do, then we finally see that the dreaded ribbon has changed and the functionality that we USED to have right there in the field of the dwg is now remote. Also, sometimes the option to put symbols in a string of text doesn't seem to exist, and I'm stuck cut&pasting from my cheat sheet of ASCII characters to get what I need. WTEff??? Then there's the fact that in cross sections, it's almost impossible to "Exclude" components now, and even when you can, you have to do them one by one. Ugh! Anyone else have these issues? Thoughts?
Hello everyone! Please tell me how can I select layout in tab programmatically.I tried the methods SetVisible(true), SetEnabled(true), SetFocusOnDisplay(true) and so on (I use OTK Java, But it doesn’t matter, understanding is important, I think). But nothing came of it.Thank you in advance! Regards!
To base our material choice also on their environmental impact, we are looking for an easy to use tool which gives us some kind of "eco properties index" of a chosen material. (Part of LSA - Life Cycle Analysis). Does anybody know a material data source which gives us this kind of info of engineering materials used in the high-tech, machine building industry? We have already found Granta Selector, but their info is quite extensive and may be a bit too much for us.
We use Creo for architectural building projects. As a result, we get a lot of AutoCAD DWGs from the outside world. We make use of these DWGs by importing them in as a feature in a part. Please note that these DWGs are 2D and import in as a curve feature. The problem is that no text imports in. See attached file. Is anybody able to import AutoCAD text into a feature within a part? If yes, please describe how you're doing it. Please let me know what fonts in AutoCAD and Creo you are using. Thanks, Steve
Hi All, We had a big project that we outsourced from a different company. They created drawings for us without telling us that they had Creo 6 all along while our company has Creo 5. I know the GCRI is limited to only parts and assemblies, is there anyway for us to use their Creo 6 drawings??We get the "cannot be retrieved" error when importing the drawings. Thanks
Hi..I want to create general view for orientation of TOP_VIEW ( drawing solid orientation) but getting difficulty to pass matrix.i am creating general drawing view by below API.status = ProDrawingGeneralviewCreate (p_drawing, (ProSolid)comp_mdl, 2, PRO_B_FALSE, pos, 0.2, matrix2, &view);it gives me error due to matrix, So please can anybody suggest me how to pass matrix from drawing solid orientation ( TOP_VIEW).If any sample code is there then it is better to create general drawing view from drawing solid view orientation. Thanks,Prashant Pandarkar
Hi, can somebody tell me the correct way to show one or more parts of an assembly as transparent in a drawing ? In the assembly I clicked on "Model Display > Component Display Style > Transparent" and the selected component is displayed transparent. So far so good. Then I saved the style in the view-manager and created a new combined state that includes the new style with the transparent component. Then I created a new drawing and chose the combined state I created. But it doesn't work. The part isn't displayed transparent in the drawing-view. what am I doing wrong ? Thanks, Maik

I am currently working on producing an assembly drawing for a large top level product with many subassemblies The way I typically handle that is with Combined states (simp rep, explode) controlling the various operations to assemble the product BUT since we got upgraded to Creo 6, I cannot link all my simp reps easily to the BOM,I found this out after laying out all the 30+ sheets, I thought I could get around this by modifying my Combined state to all use the same simp rep and instead change the assembly layers to hide and show components This seemed to work great, but after the drawing was finished and the PDF was exported all the views in the drawing matched the combined state of the final page, even though if you navigate to each page they generally show what view you are expecting Any ideas what is going on? I have the views set to independent, but I think there is a shared layer among them I do not have much experience with layers in drawing, ca
I have been playing around with Intelligent Fastener and was wondering if there is any way of adding the fasteners but with real features rather than cosmetic features for threads and such.
I have a question. I am having trouble finding out if there is a way to scale a simple a model in Creo 4. My issue is that I would like to use my original model as the "default" of 1 and be able to scale it from there, but being able to scale it back to "1" whenever I need to. The only ways I know of are: 1.) Use "Scale model", then use a calculator to find out how to get back to your original scale of "1" 2.) Set all dims in a relation of original value multiplied by a "Scale" parameter (which would take me a long time to set up since I have 70-100 dims in my model 3.) Use "Scale model", then Save As as a separate model We are taking a model and running several simulations on it, finding an optimum result. Our analyst would like to just take the model and use a scale factor, so he will be running several iterations, using many scale factors. Any help would be great!
We are welding heavy metal frames en the weldings weight easily exceeds 60 kg per frame. We like to sum this weight with our net component weight and display one weight at the drawing. There is a repeat table parameter (weldasm.totalmass) that holds the weldings weight but I do not like to show it in the bom list and rather like to make the sum of the net weight and the weldings weight. Does anyone have experience configuring this ?
Hello all, We are trying to access a web-page.But it is having compatibility issues with Chromium browser. (Attached snip of Chromium browser details)How to debug embedded chromium browser in Creo 4 as developer tool? Please comment. Regards,Pratik Chougule
We do sheet metal roll forming. We have some parts that are manufactured 2-out, meaning the same profile is made side by side then cut apart to make 2 of the same parts. Currently we make an assembly of the part flat to make manufacturing drawings. We are wanting to transition to using hole tables on our drawings, but I can not find how to add a hole table to an assembly drawing. Does anyone have a way to better show a 2 out flat instead of making an assembly of the 2 flats? I would like to stick with the one part file so everything stays associated with the part.
Grazie
Hello, I have overlayed an image in my model. However, the image does not display in my drawing views. How can I get the image to display in drawing views? Thank you.
My understanding is that Simulation Live uses the GPU to perform calculations. When I run a simulation on a part, task manager shows the CPU running hard and the GPU not doing very much. Is this normal or is there a setting that I should look at to allow the GPU to take on some of the work? CREO 4.0 GPU: NVIDIA Quadro P4000• Version 86.4.a7.0.d• Memory ~25 GB
I have some features in one part that have inside one of them, some relations. Now in an assembly, I copied and made the paste special, the same features to other part. after having made the advanced reference configuration, and all the features pasted to the new part, I visited the relation to the corresponding extrude, and there wasn't any relations inside. My question is, how can i copy those features, and bring the needed relations to the other part, without losing the relations?
I have a few features defined in one part, those features depend in a few curves, planes, edges on a skeleton. I need to copy and past those features to a few other parts. I tried to use the copy and past special option, but it's a tedious work, I would like to copy and paste those features exactly with the same references, so it would be the option of "use original reference", but is greyed out... Is there any way to do this?
Hello, Is there a way to eliminate a quota line?Let me explain better (or at least I try), when I go to quote a model in the .drw, I would like that the horizontal line of the linear dimension inside the model is not seen.Attached an example. Is it feasible in your opinion? Ty, Matteo.
Hello. We are currently migrating from Creo 2 to 4. As the title says, we need to hide hole notes from the model display. When using Creo 2, we had a configuration called model_note_display but looks like this configuration was deleted since Creo 3. We are wondering if any other configuration replaced that function. We know we have the display_annotations config, but that would also hide other stuff we need like geometric tolerances or dimensions on the models. Another solution could be hiding the layer where the hole notes are, but we don't have access to modify the start files, not all the models have the same layer structure and we would need to do it on every model we open (at least for the first time). Regards
I tried but can't find it. Thanks in advance.
