Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi,   I have a harness that contains 23 wires. The harness is approximately 6m long. It is initially bundled in two bundles, coming from two connectors, after about 1m it must transition to a "flat" bundle where they are routed together. This should follow a specific curve and at one point be coiled 4 turns before continuing flat. It then transitions to 23 tabs/connectors.   Round bundling between two Locations is ok, but is it possible to have a flat bundle or route? I guess that the first wire can be routed along locations on my predefined curve, but how to I ensure that the remaining 22 wires follow the "flat" path that I want?   Thanks

Hi,sometimes I need to convert a regular "prt model" in a Skeleton type model.Just not to lose all geometries and links I use this procedure (CREO2 ) :1 - Open assembly which contains the regular part that should be used as a skeleton part (name "PART2SKEL.PRT") .2 - In assembly Sel. Model / Create and I define a new skeleton type model ( named "TEMP_SKEL.PRT") using the option 'copy from existing' and choosing "PART2SKEL.PRT" as reference part in order to have all geometries already done.3 - I save the single part "TEMP_SKEL.PRT" to disk.4 - I close the assembly without saving and I erase everything from memory.5 - On the disk I rename the "TEMP_SKEL.PRT" to "PART2SKEL.PRT".6 - Open again the the assembly. The original part is replaced by the new skeleton art. 7 - In the model tree I can see the original part as skeleton with specific correct icon for skeleton (transparent).If necessary I can move the part on top of model tree.It works !Now the question :In Windchill (10.1) if I perfo

Hello everyone!   When creating a section, some restrictions automatically appear in it (such as equality, parallelism, coincidence).One of these automatic restrictions prevents my section from becoming whole.Can I somehow create restrictions programmatically that I need and delete that are not needed?   Best Regards!

Hi, I have a problem about the autogem control for mesh. For a big assembly, I prefer to make the AutoGem control at part level, then I just need to mesh at top assembly level,but don't need to control the mesh type and property it in top level assembly. But seem I cannot use the part level autogem control when I open the top level assembly. there is a warning tab at beside the mesh control type. Please teach me how to deal with it. The element type I used is Native element.

Hi   We have a layout into dialog and through code, we are adding labels and input panel into layout.   What we need is to fix the size of dialog. For example, it should show only 5 labels and if additional labels are added, it must have scrollbar rather than expanding size of layout and dialog.   How to achieve the same? Hi, I am creating UI through resource file (.res), in this i have many input panels in one sub-layout (40 parameters). So if i create its UI it goes out of screen. It also have almost 10 column so i can not divide 40 parameters in another column it should be in one column only.    So want to know is there any option that i can give scroll down option for layout? or want to know any another idea or workaround.     Regards, Prashant Pandarkar

Hi   We can set default location of models to be checked-in through toolkit API. Additionally, we can set location of files to be checked in for few specific files using toolkit API.   Can we get the idea of at what location new file by default would be checked in? Actually I am not setting any option for check-in and performing Auto Check-In using toolkit API. So, for report preparation; i need to know where files got checked in (default location) through API.   Thanks and Regards Ketan

Having installed PTC Wildfire 4.0 on a laptop (Windows 10) I find no Start icon on homepage. How can I rectify this?

A question just came up in the PTC Creo threads about configuring ModelCHECK. I mentioned that the answer was in the ModelCHECK PDF and the response was, "What ModelCHECK PDF?"   A quick search on PTCs site and I couldn't find it after searching for two minutes, so time to upload a resource PTC should make more easily available.   Anyway, this is how I learned to implement it. Granted, this version is from Wildfire 4.0, but since PTC hasn't made any changes to it, I can confirm all the configs and choices have been the same at least through Creo 2.0.   Enjoy.

Hi, I am using Creo 4.0, M030. I am replacing table pattern values with the values I am generating in my code. But if the generated values are null then table pattern values should be deleted. I am facing issue in deleting table pattern for assembly. Please guide me on this. Thanks

Dear community, I wrote a OTK-Java-free application which runs fine on my developing environment. I am having problems to get the app working on client machines though. One basic question: Is it possible to run this java-app without Java Object-Toolkit installation on the client machine? If so, how do I link to otk.jar? I tried to link to the manually copied jar file in severals ways without success: via config.pro option: jlink_java_command [path-to-folder]\java.exe -cp [path-to-folder]\otk.jar via creotk.dat option: JAVA_APP_CLASSPATH [path-to-folder]\MyApp.jar;[path-to-folder]\otk.jar   I appreciate your help! Hi,   I want to implement a customized toolbar in CREO parametric toolkit. I am using CREO 4.0 , M20. I have added  2 ribbons manually, when I tried to export , only  the .ui file is getting saved and  .rbn file is not getting updated . And also I am not able to load  .rbn file through RibbonDefinitionfileLoad() command. Does RibbonDefinitionfileLoad() requires CREO Direct license as well ?

hello everybody, i have a question: is it possible to place a subassembly in another assembly by placing differently subassembly part? for example in the pic below i would like to place the part on the left on a bracket and the part on the right on another bracket but i would like to place them differently on another assembly   thanks

Been fighting with this issue off and on for decades, and never really found a good solution...so I've always just winged it. Now that I'm starting from scratch on a new automation project in Creo 3, I figured I'd ask again.  🙂I have an assembly (think of a wall framing assembly)... that is made up of several studs with various embedded window and door frames. Each window and door is a configurable subassembly with it's own components. Although the wall is built as a single assembly in the end, treating the doors, windows, and other types of "holes" as sub-assemblies allows for some pretty complex configuration and automation...so it's integral to modeling this side frame.   Here is the problem..Door #1 for example has a it's own vertical post part on each side so that they can be lengthened or whatever. But, they may technically be the same part as other studs in the wall (or other sub-assemblies) unless the length changes. (Same description, same length, same part number p

Hi All,   I have a BOM table with custom BOM Balloon parameter called BOMREF. In BOM relations, I am comparing asm_mbr_name to the typed in string value and then adjusting value of BOMREF parameter using if statement. See screen shot below for one of the assembly.     I want to automate this process so that I don't have to type the string value every time I change the assembly. It should automatically pick it up from file name.   For manufactured parts, the file name is always of the format XXXGYYY.prt/asm where XXX and YYY are unique numerical numbers or integers. Example file name would be 421G196.asm.   My idea is to write relation which looks at the format of file name and if the file name is as per the format above then it should assign BOMREF a value of "M" + "AAA". where "AAA" is a sequential number starting from 001 and going up to rpt.index in the BOM table.   Any idea on how to do it is highly appreciated.   Thank you in advance.   Reg

All, Looking to clean up some warnings in an assembly lots have worked on. A part was assembled as a varied item (flexible). Looks like it's done legitimately?   I get the warning below when opening assembly. Anyone know why?     Creo4-m020   Thanks,   WayneF

I am attempting to share a network between several cables so they can all route together in a bundle. The problem I am having is that after I share the network and route all the cables via network, the cable just route one on top of another. They are not in a round group or even flat, just all coaxial.   Can anyone help please??

Hi, I've installed Creo 5.0.3.0 and applied for a CSL trial license. But I got an error message as the picture showed. And I noticed that PTC should email me a trial license due to this error occurred but I never got the email with the applied trial license. Thus, I've waited and found no solution for this situation on PTC website for days. Can this situation be solved ASAP? Thank you.

I have received a step file assembly from one of our suppliers. Instead of cluttering up our Windchill server with all sorts of misc parts I want to somehow turn this assembly into a part.I have tried a shrinkwrap (surface subset), it leaves too many surfaces missing no matter what Quality Level or Special handling options I use.I have tried a shrinkwrap (Merged Solid), it always gives a "Could not create model <insert model name>. Aborting" message.I have tried to open the step file as a part and Creo gives me the "NOT RESPONDING" message and the only way to get out is to End Task. I have waited up to 30 minutes for Creo to continue responding with no happy ending.Does anyone have a solution?Creo 3.0M010Thanks in advance,Herb SpauldingMiller Industries
