Creo Elements Direct

Is it possible to update the BOM list automatic when a new part is inserted to the assembly? Now the users need to do the following: - Insert the part in the assembly (or a changed part) - Scan the BOM - Delete the old BOM - Place the BOM again on the drawing   Isn't it simple the part is added to the BOM automatic?

Our current workstations have 32 GB of memory. When loading a large assembly from Model Manager I find that SolidDesigner appears to limit itself to using less than 10 GB of memory (see the first screenshot below). The wave pattern of memory usage looks like the software needs more memory but instead of taking memory that is available it is dumping some memory already in use.   I have a new workstation that has 64 GB of memory installed but SolidDesigner still appears to limit itself to under 10 GB of memory when loading from Model Manager (see the second screenshot below). Is there a setting somewhere that is limiting how much memory Creo can use? I was hoping to see an improvement in load times with this new computer but I am not seeing improvement.    

Product idea for dimensioning in Annotation: Please add multi line postfix in dimension tolerance type "Basic". We need this for multi language drawings.

If I create a parallel auxiliary line, I can select the line in Modeling and move it with the mouse. Then I see exactly the unit of measure dynamically. I can enter an exact measure and press Enter at the same time.The line is created. When I click on the button to create parallel auxiliary line in Drafting, I also see the measure dynamically, but I have to leave the command if I want to enter an exact measure. Double work. Could it possibly do the same as in Modeling?

If you modify a part within an inseparable assembly, the modification state of the inseparable master is also updated. If you store the recently modified parts of an inseparable assembly using Save Modified, the whole assembly is stored. The modification is done by adding an additional view. As a consequence all views of the inseparable and the sheet gets the state “update needed”.   This behavior, in some situations, is not the best, because to update assembly views may require several minutes

I think by now 4 to 6 weeks have passed in which the license server for Modelling Express is down and the only way to continue working with it, is by requesting a manual activation key every per 72 hours... until that option will eventually fail to work as well.  I don't know how many users will then have no longer access to their design, but I guess quite a few!    Which would be a pity because this application is by far the best I know of for enthousiast amateurs who want to make semi-professional 3D-printable one-off designs. At least that is why I love it in the first place. It even works so well that I strongly believe I could have been a huge success, if actively promoted and supported for the 3D printing communities.   But that will never happen to it as long as PTC treats it as the black sheap of the familly. As the title suggests, I need to be able to customize the title block in creo elements. I go to the Annotations tab and create my drawing sheet with a perspective part. However it has a default title block that I want to change (how big the rectangles are as well as how many there are) so that it has all prevalent information I personally need. I have not figured out how to create my own title block like in creo Parametric.    Can someone let me know how to do this in detailed steps?  Thanks

Hi, we need a function to load a part from the catalog. Then we will position the part multiple. (without a liner or radial direction). Now we have to use "next" and "edge". Thats slow. Hello.  I use your demo version of Creo Elements Direct Modeling, but it is not working lately. I can’t open it. When I enter name and password it asks me about proxy server what I don’t know. It ran good but now doesn’t. Can you help me with it?

Hey.    I am having issues forcing my dimension text to stay in line with my dimension lines. I turned my common text orientation to perpend and the coordinates to use orientation. This handles the text and line issue but then creates issues with my diameter and radius not having the staggered line.    any ideas?

This is pretty simple, I keep getting the error, "Edges define an invalid mesh" when I try to create a skin from a spline.  The spline is connect all the way around and there are no duplicate lines.  I can't for the life of me figure out why this is not working. I have attached the package file with the spline. Can someone please help?

The login I use is of UK origin, but since PTC themselves are a German company I would have expected them to show a more professional approach to GDPR than just cutting all communication with us. I had tried again to use a 72hour key just before I saw this post. As usual, I am informed the key I receive is invalid. Bill

I am trying to change line style from solid to any other style in a view with display setting hidden lines. But, the hidden lines remain a solid. I've tried changing the widths with no success. I have not had an issue with this at other companies. What am I missing?

My computer recently changed locations on the company internet. I have been using Direct Modeling Express for several years successfully but now I get a proxy request and warning when I start. It looks like I'll be thrown out after 72 hours?   I clearly have internet access. The company IT support is not sure what type of Proxy information Direct Modeling Express requires. Proxies are not generally used, they say.   Connection failed. For Modeling Express to automatically activate, it requires access to the internet. Please check if a proxy has to be specified, and enter your company's proxy server details so that the activation can proceed   Proxy name.........   Proxy port ...........   Thanks for any help to get around this issue.
