Hello, I am attempting to access Article - CS69429 (link: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS69429 ) but unfortunately can not. I believe the issue that is occurring is that since I am using an academic license, the PTC website says I do not an active subscription to CREO.  My team is using CREO to test the harnessing & cabling tools. Our test case is currently very simple at only two harnesses with associated four connectors. We are attempting to export our design in the .xml format built in to CREO but are then trying to parse this information and store it in an .xlsx or .csv document that displays the information better in a table. I am running into issues opening the exported .xml doc in Matlab due to the doctype definition and was hoping this article could help. I've got an Excel add-in that I created that used to work with CREO 4, and when upgrading to CREO 7, it now crashes both programs to desktop with no error displayed. I've updated PRO_COMM_MSG_EXE and PRO_DIRECTORY. I've run the batch files. I've tried changing PRO_DIRECTORY in case it is not updated correctly to several other options, and it throws a different error so I'm ruling that out since what I assume is correct causes the crash. Are there any tips as to what is causing the hard crash? This is occurring for several users that used to use the Excel add-in but have updated to CREO 7.This occurs not only on code that was previously working, but also on the examples in the VB API document. 

Hello, everyone. I tried to assemble the components with a matrix through the function "ProAsmcompAssemble()". I have an assembly with over 1000 components, and I must read the entire structure  (all level sub-assemblies and parts).  But then, during the read, the Creo runs generate at every level.  The overall structure read goes beyond 15 minutes.   And there are cases I have to parse Assemblies beyond 1000 components, which makes it impractical to use the custom program. Is there a way to disable generate programmatically during the assembly read?  Example: subComponents = currentComponent.ListFeaturesByType (False,                                                                                                                           &n

I have a few instances in my code where I have a UI tree that is longer than the height of the screen and I want to scroll to a specific position.One example is when i select a tree node using ProUITreeSelectednamesSet (or otk equivalent) I want the scroll position to be set so that the selected node is visible without needing to scroll down manually and search for the highlighted node.Another example is setting the scroll position to the top after a node is added because the default seems to be to scroll to the bottom of the tree.  

Hi,Does anyone have a solution when exporting a drawing to .DXF format via Web.Link, the file name is always written in lowercase letters. How to get the file name to be written in uppercase letters. Part of the code is as follows:...var DXFOut = pfcCreate("pfcDXFExportInstructions").Create();CurModel.Export(FileName.toUpperCase(), DXFOut);...No mater what I always get filename od disk written in lowercase.,But if I export to PDF format I can get in uppercase format. Any idea, solution?    

These options are too short, not a complete word, and the PTC help document has no relevant explanation, I don’t know what they mean, can anyone tell me, thank you! I hope that the PTC help documentation can add explanations for all these options and sub-options.

I've got an OTK JAVA Free app working to create simplified reps with a method as shown below. I cannot get Creo to show any components in this simplified rep.The method should accept inputs as a Solid (the assembly that the simp rep is to be a member of), an integer sequence (I only want to show a single component, so only the index 0 is used) and an integer (only used for messages, denotes it's location in a sequence). The method should create a new simp rep with the default action to exclude all components, which it does successfully. It should then add the component with the feature number that is index 0 in the integer sequence as a master rep. This does not happen. So my question is, what should I do to the below code to make the component identified in the "is" integer sequence as index 0 appear as a master rep in the simp rep called leafsimp? At the moment I just get a simp rep with all components excluded. In the below, printMsg is a method that just calls System

Hello! We're using our custom jLink plugins in our Creo. One of them is creating/storing external data into model and the second plugin is reading the data from the model. It's working more-less properly with one exception: when there are no external data created yet and the first plugin creates them for a first time, they are not visible for the second plugin even after model Save/Refresh/Regenerate. They start to be visible even after model close and open again. In subsequent cases, when an existing external data are updated/extended, they are directly visible without need of model close/open. Does anybody observed such a behaviour and could help us how to make external data visible even after initial save? Thank you very much!Juraj   

Hello, I have a problem in Creo 7.0, when I try to import an IDF with some small components in it. I get a warning that asks me to change the sketch. I found where the problem comes, I need to use the inlbs_part_ecad_rel.prt not the inlbs_part_ecad_abs.prt template. I renamed it and it works very well.But I am looking for a cleaner way to use it.Is there an option in config.pro which allows to replace the inlbs_part_ecad_abs template into inlbs_part_ecad_rel when used for importation? I already tried template_ecadpart option, but no change. Thank you! 😊

Hello,   I'm trying to place a symbol at specific location on drawing. I created a symbol which has (or should have, i currently don't know if it works) a variable text (text would change based on dimension index; so from 1 to x)   I managed to get the symbol definition and place the symbol at a location which i choose with mouse. So next i tried setting the location with the x,y location that i get from a dimension on drawing and that's where i got to a problem where i can't create a point somehow. Hello, I'm currently working on Excel macro that connects to current session (drawing) and extracts data.I managed to get it so far that it extracts dimensions (names and value) but i just can't get a correct procedure to get the dimensions upper and lower tolerance. The only thing i was able to obtain is tolerance type with ipfcdimension2D.GetTolerance(). Is there a method to get upper and lower tolerance somehow? Greatly appreciate the answer!Klemen    

So, I'm working on a drawing in Creo 6.0, and I've hidden all of the datum tags that were not attached to a GDT in a layer. However, they still appear when I open the latest published version of the drawing in Creo View. How can I get these datum tags that are hidden in a layer to not appear in Creo View as well?
